We, stardust, are the oddest observers of self (a.k.a. the universe).

I'm just a group of atoms typing this.

What do I know?

WOW!  Maritime Exchange looks incredible in my city!  Count me in amongst those who would prefer Daily News next over Empire State Building, because I try to avoid buildings in my city that are "obviously" in another real world city, but totally get that I'm likely in the minority.  Your art deco work is impeccable!

Wow! Amazing... you keep getting better and better! I really like the fact that the team is working, and delivering. To be honest, This is the kind of building that makes a huge difference, no one really notices it, but in the end, it defines the skyline... really appreciate it buddy!

    edwardjeria: Thank you!

    Ceafus88: Thanks

cmdb123789: Thanks and yeah I agree, small profile buildings are what makes the city work or not :)

    Aaron Graham: Thanks buddy.

Darknono35: Thanks and do you have any piece of advice? Afterall you have experience with glass.

shinkansen1:  Thanks. btw, I digg ur nick :)

So, nobody really noticed that I have mistakenly used same angle of view twice? :P

    IMr1F7q.jpg

LOL I just noticed my mistake :P And here's the missing angle:

    3TRxaex.png

ANd I have promised a zoom 5 image, so here it is (with bump maps for glass and ground plane)

    Vnub3pa.jpg

And, again, I'd like experienced glass building BATters to come forward with advice how to improve this model.

Yep I haven't seen your mistake on your precedent post.... oh shame :P:D

About your windows, I think you need to given more reflective effects, but not too much, we must see through them like you have explain, windows are transparencies ;) .

Try to grow the level of reflection, or add an small bitmap in the diffuse part and down the diffuse level around 0,1 or 0,2 ;)

This is one picture I use for several reflections ;) , try it buddy :thumb:

Love it!  I love how you often work on 20-30 buildings, which are so essential to the game but tend to get lost inbetween smaller buildings and massive skyscrapers.  Looking forward to dropping this in my city!

Vlasky :))) I m glad to see the 261 Madison Avenue about to be released by someone. We need more of that building which are part of the Midtown "forrest".

I hope you are doing well between... :D:P

Looks great man. I can't say what to do with the glass, I do not know much on how to fix up the glass beside add noise to the glass and some maps.

261 Madison Avenue is looking fantastic already.  Thank you for doing one of these filler buildings that's so common in Midtown.

Also, the Squibb Building is looking amazing.

This is a great style of buildings and all can see a lot of this boxy-buildings in each New York city picture, for that reason these buildings must be present in our game. You are doing a fantastic job my friend !!

Darknono35: Thank you Nono for the suggestions and the map. I use a similar map taken from Google Earth with overlayed screenshot from the game so that the reflections have a more game friendly feel to them. If my current setup cannot work I will do what you suggested.

cmdp123789: Thank you so much for your nice comment. I'm trying my best :)

jwsteele: Thank you and I'm really glad to that my efforts are not going unnoticed

Parisian: Pierre, I completely agree with you thanks for the question, I'm doing OK.

Aaron Graham: Well that might be, but I still appreciate all the support you've been giving me in the meantime

Chris M: Thanks, I'm glad you like them.

    SimsPlanet2: Thanks

Kelistmac: Thank you my friend. Only when we look really harder can we see all the "types" of buildings that make up Manhattan.

Well I have quietly been working on 261 Madison Ave, and I can't believe trough how many changes I have already been with it and not posted in the meantime :) So first of all I'm going to show you a full zoom 5 render which is OLD but I'm showing it so that you can see (literally) the bigger picture

    uFME5nR.png

and than this is also a zoom 5 render but due to long long time it takes to get a full render I have reduced the rendered area, but you can still see the changes I've made. This is the most recent render:

    wsF8BJV.png

In the meantime,if you have missed it, I have uploaded Diagonal version of the Maritime Exchange Building:

    thumb-207f66fa0fe5a87d75a77b55e928d427-v

And as you know, it takes a village to accomplish something so with Maritime versions finished I want to thank: Jasoncw for guiding and teaching me trough entire process of making it, Girafe for modding the orthogonal version according to which I modded diagonal, Aaron Graham for helping me with rendering issues and providing support during modding, Amthaak, my dear friend who tried to export diagonal version and PBGV103 for exporting diagonal models. And finally thanks to all you guys who supported me in this thread all your comments encouraged me and motivated me throughout the process.

I think speech was in order for my first big building :)

Don't worry buddy, we haven't missed your diagonal version, it's already in my plugins folder ;)

Something looks odd with the big picture of the 261 Madson Ave, your glass seems opaque. I prefer the smallest picture of this one, the glass looks better.

Keep up the good work :)
