On November 13th 1930. the exterior of the Empire State Building was finished. To mark this date, I am revealing that I am working on the ESB. I am slowly progressing. First 'study' is done and I feel that I understand the building much better now:

 

 

I have started working on the details as well. and there are many of them, but I think I've conquered some basics:

 

 

Please do note that I will need quite some time before I finish this model, so I advise you to be extra patient but I promise it will be worth it.

The Squibb Building looks great! Should fit in nicely with other buildings also.

 

And the ESB looks great already! I'm suprised no other NY BATer's have remade the ESB yet. The Maxis version, while it looked nice back when the game was originally released, is inaccurate (lots of missing details, color isn't right, etc...) Everytime I walk by it on my way home from work I'm reminded of the time limitations their art dept had modeling the landmarks. Your study already looks better than Maxis' version and I can't wait to see more progress shots.

 

One of these days when I have time I need to remake Chrysler to bring it up to NYBAT standards.

Hanson784: Thanks! I always forget that you moved to NYC! I'm so jealous how casually you say I look at it every time when I go back home from work Haha! Can we count on you to snap some pics for us we we ever need them? I have no idea why nobody tried doing ESB, but I never planned on it, It just happened.

Well I don't have update on ESB, I told you it will be slower pace with it, but I do have update on Maritime Exchange building. I have added antenna which was there originally, finished work on 88 Broad street next to it, and altogether I believe that my work on the day version is done. I have failed to make good looking blinds and I give up on them. Glass might be better but I'm afraid I don't know what else to do. If anyone has any suggestion, speak now

NYBT Maritime Exchange building (DN & MN) is now on the STEX
