Hey guys, thank you for all your comments. It's been a while since my last post, its mostly because I'm occupied by my novel and two other projects but also because I need to upgrade my computer before I come back to serious work on BATs. I'm hoping I will manage to replace my graphic card and add some RAM before Christmas so... till then! :)

Americans care about their past, but for short term gain they ignore it and tear down everything that matters. Maybe… this is the time to take a stand, to reverse the tide, so that we won't all end up in a uniform world of steel and glass boxes." - Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

edwardjeria - It will be a while before anyone will hear anything about my novel, well, to be honest no one may ever hear about it because I don't have any guarantee that any publisher will publish it :D
But in case anyone's interested - It's an adventure novel.

unclesahm - I will try to finish Penn Hotel as one of the first BATs after my comeback.

Darknono35 - It's nice to hear from you again too :)

Aaron - Yees...I'm ashamed that I didn't even comment on your work guys :( But any time I was checking this site I was feeling like making some BATs and I didn't want to get away from my novel.. Anyway, I'm really happy to see you again Aaron :)

Penn Hotel would be nice, but to be honest anything done by you is good enough for me.....I  don't really mind what building it is.  Great news that you're planning a return.

Seraf, I'm wondering if I do have pictures of the interior of the Hotel Pennsylvania myself. My NYC pics are currently on my father's computer or a CD somewhere. I think I might only have a picture of the entrance but I'm not entirely sure.

The lobby was lovely, intricate. I'm not sure if the lobby was ever recently renovated to look different from the past but it was still a sight.

The doors to the hotel rooms were apparently still original and I thought that was a nice touch. (:

    Great BATing as always. :golly:

Stunning as always.  What software are you using for the statues?  I was thinking one day I might try making some of Bernini's statues.

Paul - It's so nice to see you :) Thank you, and for statues I always use Poser, then when I need to make additions I use either Max or ZBrush (but I must say I prefer to draw humans, its going much better than modeling for me) :) Bernini's statues? That's a big one ;)

edwardjeria - I don't know yet, I would like to but I'm not good with modeling trees so...

Those room doors in the hotel Pennsylvania, vintage and original as they were, were hard to close. And open... :P  Shame the lobby wasn't original... I haven't seen photos from what the lobby had originally looked like, but it was still ornate nonetheless.

Loving the monument so far too. It's nice to have more park monuments for our cities besides more and more buildings. :)

Monument is looking wonderful, great work on the fountains. I will warm the overall colour a bit more and add a slight hint of pink..maybe a little bit of weathering too..

Thank you guys for all the comments :)

Is it just me or are the bricks looking a bit oversized. But I like your ornamental modelling! :)

You were right - the stone blocks were a bit too big. I corrected that already and it will be visible on next render :)

I'm very fond of "little architecture" as I call monuments and enjoy making them, I'm glad you like the Maine Monument :)

And the lobby of Pennsylvania Hotel used to look like this: hpennarchreview3.jpg

You're right about the weathering :) But I don't know about the colors of stone yet, I remember that I matched them with colors of my Farley Post Office... We'll see :)

And a small reminder that I'm still here even if I don't have so much time for BATing as I would like to :)

I was playing with water effects in City Hall Park Fountain, this render lacks the second waterfall and eight jets (one for each corner of main basin and one for each of small basins on the sides of it). Don't worry about the color of the water, I'll adjust it later to be more bluish :)
