Dover House

Here's another building for you guys, this one is not a corner building, it's like the second version of the Hogan Apartments.

785 Park Avenue

 

Here's an small update on the 785 Park avenue, I had to keep changing things and it took a long time to get it right, I had to keep undoing things that was not right. I have added some bushed on the terrace and soon need furniture and I still have to model the back of the building and the ac units and roof junk.

The Dover House teasers looks promising and then to add a thought, to make this a hotel called "the Dover House", as this time period [10's-40's] is rather lacking in hotels ... granted it ain't historically accurate to make it a hotel but it would nice... and teh interject that I hope to find the 201 E. 19th Street stex soonish... as this latest NYBT pack also promises good thongs for downtown Manhattan residential centers...   its all good :ducky:

While looking at the plans i might reckon that the unit layout might somehow remind of an apartment hotel, Dover House is a specimen of a "style" that was emerging just in the late 1930's (buildings completely devoid of any ornament, with some setbacks arranged in a somewhat attractive way).

 

Even if there might be a very slight chance that Dover House could have been built in the prewar era, it's architecture would be quite different from what, in general, prewar architecture was (again, if you except the late '30s), and perhaps would not exactly fit in the common notion-idea-expectation of "prewar"...

 

On the other hand, i'd submit to your attention, 995 fifth avenue (Built as the Stanhope Hotel).

 

 

I think that JackWilds could get a prewar Hotel (that clearly looks "prewar"), and Aaron could get yet another building on his collection.

 

I am not making a request for it to be done, i'm just proposing a better way to reach a goal.

I like the notion of the Stanhope Hotel... and I was having issues nailing done the architectural period of the Dover, hence the wide guess with year range... but the 30's sounds reasonable for what I was attempting to point out... so as if AG doesn't have enough on his plate  and if he is willing 995 fifth avenue (Built as the Stanhope Hotel) ought to fit the bill...

Here’s the 201 E. 19 Street, located in Gramercy neighborhood in Manhattan. These apartments are Wall to Wall (W2W) buildings. This 16 story brick apartment building set is a New York City style. The architecture style for this building is a modernism style completed in 1960, by architect Feldman, H.I. There are four bats/ Building models, each one have a different brick color. Each model has four lot types R$$, R$$$, CS$$, and CS$$. 201 E. 19 Street should be a comfy place for your Sim to live in. Enjoy the upload!!

Jack_wilds- It would be cool for me to make the 995 5th Avenue but the building does not seat on a 2x2 lot, more like a 3x2, that means I will be focred to make the building next to it.

Here's a tiny update on the building, I took a few days off the batting, yeah a batter needs to rest too. In the image you can see the basement area of the building, I have added two doors, I will have to make a way to get to the basement are from outside, then I will have to make furniture for the terraces, damn I hate making furniture.
 



Guess what guys 3ds Max Design 2014 is out as some of the other Autodesk software is out, like Maya 2014 ect, but to let you guess know 3ds Max 14 is not out yet, I wonder why. I have posted this on before on the Autodesk 3dsMax for Free Legally thread, but no one loves 3ds Max.

Let's Hope there's no problem using BAT 4 Max on it.

Edit: Bat 4 does work on 3ds Max 14 Design, I'm still testing the exporting.

 

As of now I'm having problems with the quality of the render.

From the looks of it 3ds Max 2014 Design is not ready for BAT 4 Max. 3ds Max has some render quality problems and exporting issues.

Its seems to me, that building will be exceptional good luck for the furnitures on the terraces, it's just a bad moment

I downloaded 3ds max 2014 design; there's not much new, as expected. There are some nice performance upgrades, and much needed functionality to massfx added as well as some other features but it's in large part an aesthetic upgrade. It's the autodesk redesign year I like it a lot because of that. The startup screen is a small but refreshing detail for me. 

 

As soon as it's bat4max (if ever) it would be worth a download.

 

B.C builder: easier tool compared to what? It won't be "easier" than anything else. 3d programs aren't easy if you want to do something well.

Vlasky- thank you, and your right, I'm finishing this building much faster, most times it takes two to three months, I think the reason why is that I'm rushing..
