Darknono35- Thank you team mate!!! :D

    MTT9- Thank you!!! :D

io_bg- Well here you go here's another update. :)

    201 E. 19 Street

Sorry for not posting sooner i end up not batting for two days and today I started back, something always going to stop me. Here's what i have on the new apartments building, the model is not hard just have to think of a way to clone things so you do not have to bat them again. The things that is in colored that not gray are cloned objects, if you think about it the modeling is about 50% finished. :D

    EDIT:

    30 E. 81 Street

I forgot to post something on the building, right now i am working on the fence that is on the lower roof, after I finished that then I will work on the variations and add the ac units. I have already did the night lights, I decided to do them very early, I added them when most of the model was finished.

    Hazani Pratama- thank you!!!! ^_^

    30 E. 81 Street

Okay I have finished what I said in the post before, on 30 E. 81 Street. You can see the fence better and ac units, I have also started the variations for the building. One of the variations can not be used if i'm making four kinds, one have to say the brown one because that's the color of the real building.

I think I need to work on the building brick for the top left and right size on the image below, there are new bricks I have made today, the brick mortar is to bright and making the brick more sharper. If you look a the building your eyes go straight for the bricks, because to me there are very attractive, to attractive. :)

    Looking great aaron.

On the newest previews you showed, the flat wall of windows on the side closest to the camera looks odd to me. I think what's causing it is the side edge is a very sharp line, though I'm not sure. I don't really have any advice on how to fix it, it's just something I see that looks odd.

On the ground floor, your windows are reflecting some odd stuff. Give them something more literal to reflect.

darn42- Thank you, The glass is not reflective it's a texture on the window. The brick on the corner of the building does look odd, I can not figure how to fix that. :)

    mattb325- Thank you!!! :D

    201 E. 19 Street

Here's another update on this building, all I need to do is add the details to the first floor, the roof, and add some ac vent just below the windows and the day render should be finished. :D

aaron, for the 30 e. 801 st. shops on the ground floor, just detach them and give them a different, reflective, material. I would put a plane about to the point where the sidewalk would go and give it the maxis paver texture, and then further out put images of the sc4 streets.

for the last updated building, tone down the white at the top of the building.

Don't stretch yourself too thin. It seems like you are working on a lot of projects at once. Take it easy and just work on 1 or 2 at a time.

darn42- Thank you for that, I do need to work on one building at a time. Sometimes I like to work on other buildings because I get tired of working on the same building for long periods of time. :D

    Merry Christmas to all!!!!

I have a gift from me to the Sim City 4 Community, just click the image. :D

What a shame the water tower is hidden/covered up on 201 E. 19th St. But then I'm partial to seeing water towers on tall rooftops... :)

I don't know why, but for 30 E. 81st St. I like the white version best.

You've become a pro at BATting this kind of building! :) Happy holidays.

GOOD TEXTURES ARE MADE, NOT FOUND.
(I get tired of saying that in BAT threads.)

Damn! I really love your work. These are some interesting buildings.

They remind me of Liberty City in GTA IV, they had some buildings very similar to these in the eastern section of Algonquin.

Madhatter's comment here gave me an idea! Aaron, if you're willing, maybe for a variation could the water tower be more visible, and maybe the building have a dirtier or a slightly "run-down" appearance for the textures for a R$ version? I mean, it's just an idea, you don't have to act upon it. :)

Looking great though so far! I can't wait for more of these.

An enclosed water tower appeared on most nyc apartment building designs from 1920's well into the 1960's - and it was often designed to literally top off the composition of the building it belonged to.

By observing both contemporary drawings and surviving examples, it could be easily noticed that the aestethic threatment applied to those surfaces, while being often rather simple (especially in more recent designs) - sometimes exceeds, even if just with subtle and hardly noticeable details or features, what's to be expected from what basically is just a wall to enclose a tank (this, even if our opinion of the result is less than flattering).

For this specific building, the "aestethic threatment" is just a grillwork - however, the building itself seems to still follow the philosophy i detailed in the first statement.

Asking the BATer to remove this for the sake of a personal value judgement is not going to do any good.

I'd say to keep the water tower as it is, not because of it's "beauty" (subjective, and therefore irrelevant) - but because of the role it plays on the composition of this specific kind of building.

"A dirtier texture for a R$" - why, exactly? from where does it come from??

Wealth is NOT associated with dirt.

Soot affects both low and high wealth buildings walls equally over the time...,

The prejudice that says that high wealth buildings should be cleaner might come from the assumption that the owner of a high wealth building might have more money and more motivation to keep it's facades clean. This is often not true - 240 Central park west (an high wealth apartment building building during all of it's life) got it's facade renovated only once in fifty years...and because the facade itself needed much more than just a cleaning.

Another good example might be the rockfeller center...built in 1933, it's facade was cleaned from the unbelievable amount of soot that deposited on it only fifty years later, in the early 80's...and i guess that the rockfeller center was owned by people who could put some money into it...

on the other hand, even low wealth buildings might be reclad, or painted over during the time, giving them a "clean" look...

Thank you guys. :D What Francis90b said, i think I could not said it better. :P

Now if you want to see water towers maybe I need to make some buildings before 1920's. Most of the buildings that has water towers on the building that shows are on West End, Park Avenue, Riverside Drive. These seem to be the places there where building those types of apartment buildings at that time.

Are you guys tired of the 1950's & 60's New York City style apartments? :???:

The thing on the 50's & 60's buildings, there easier and can be batted fast, I think that why there where so many, then it could of been the demand for homes. This style works in my favor to bat fast.

Aaron, your contribution to that team is just very plentiful and of quality.

In New York, u get two things, buildings which make people recognizing the city (Empire State Building, Chrysler, the Rock and many others, AND the general "texture" buildings, those which make NEW YORK when you are in a common street (like in Paris with the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre and in another aspect typical Parisian buildings). Without your work, having that second part would be impossible. Your work is incredibly realistic and endowed with a high quality render. My city was full of your uploads and I have the impression to be in New York when I look at it in any zooms in the game.

60's building or older, I get great hopes in your work. Thank you very much for all :)
