I think it's better. Some of the brick blotches are noticeably darker than the rest of the texture, could you lighten them a (very) slight bit?

365 west end avenue, if you work on it (you said it's not a promise) might be a nice addition :).

I'd agree with GC, perhaps you might take one break from making new buildings, and update Transportation building in MAX?

Thank you, guys. Gutterclub and Francis90b I have almost forgot about those buildings, I have to get to them. I have to many bats to work on. I will have to work on the Williams Apartments to replace the Williams Building, Raymon Apartments, Timpson Row, Transportaton Building, Park Towers, Beekman Hotel Tower, Bromley, , Wellesley Apartments and for the Sunset Apartments I think I will not bat that one. Looks like i'm trying to be like SimFox and not complete my work. :P

I love making new building sometimes, there are more than 20 to 50 buildings I will like to make. If I was to make 50 buildings and have variations on them all, there should be 200 buildings. :O

like the tweaking; as though there is room for more tweaking :uhm: ... as the desaturated version seemed to improve the look of the building... :ducky: I hope it looks just as good in game as it does in tease... :thumb:

Looks like i'm trying to be like SimFox and not complete my work. :P

to simfox (verb): to show totally awesome stuff that never gets released even if it looks at least 85% complete. This can involve total disappearance of the simfoxing person after a while, eliminating all remaining hope for a release permanently at the same time. [Not to be confused with kellydaling, the action of teasing others for months with unreleased items only to release most of them at once when many people have given up hope or are close to doing so. This often involves immediate return to a status not entirely unlike to hibernation, effectively initiating the next kellydaling cycle. Unlike kellydaling, simfoxing is not cycle-based, but of a more linear nature.]

So stop simfoxing, Aaron! You have me worried over here. :P

OMG this is funny. Define me next! :)

GOOD TEXTURES ARE MADE, NOT FOUND.

I like your BATs Aaron! The only problem I have is how they're only mostly growable! haha

Honestly, I wouldn't mind making a ploppable or landmark version of everyone one of your buildings for 2012 and uploading them as one big pack! With of course the annoying dependancy of downloading each and everyone... unless we figure out someway to get around this! haha

Lemme know what you think! Because I'm sure a lot of people who don't know how to mod will be pleased with such a download. Because I'm sure there's many whom are disappointed to find out that after they download one of your buildings... it's only growable! :b

EDIT: LOL! I seen that definition just now! Hey... at least kellydaling is much better than simfoxing!

Plopping residentials and successfully keeping them occupied isn't always successful! haha

The recent trend I've noticed is ploppable work places that are actually residential buildings. The blend in with the residential environment while maintaining the job to population ratio. My pet peeve is having buildings in the landmarks directory that are just horrible icon photos that represent them. In my downloads I make sure each and every ploppable I create has a custom icon. It's more high quality! haha.. I don't know, It's all up to Aaron at this point!

    T Wrecks- Lol!!!! :D

gutterclub & kellydale2003- Gutterclub's right, and my buildings are 10 times easier to find than many batters in the buildingplop cheat menu, even some of the legends. My NYBT buildings and some of my team mate are named NYBT then the buildings name "NYBT 915 West End Avenue R$$ Coner Lot", for my buildings that's not NYBT there are named AG then the buildings name AG Worthington Apartments R$$ Coner Lot. kellydale2003 have you tried to ploping the residential buildings on zoned lots or plop them over an already developed area, to me I think it works a little. Some of my buildings are working as CS, it's the ones with the shops on the ground floor.

    30 E. 81st Street

A look at the night lights before I do some more tweeking and exporting. :D

Okay guys on Page 32 on my SC4devotion thread, there is a lot of talk about ploping my buildings around, take a look. :D

I love the idea of plop-able versions of your buildings. As far as the dilapidation issue goes, if you plop it in an area with successful residential development of equal or greater density, plop-able residentials tend to do well. I personally am working on a NYC recreation, and being able to plop your buildings in their actual locations would be amazing.

In that situation they won't abandon, but sims still won't be able to exit the building. They'll add to the population numbers and affect the RCI, but that's all. They're essentially still landmarks except they almost have "fake" sims living in them. :(

Do residential buildings from extra-cheats.dll work?

I think its exactly the same, they count towards the population and meet demand but won't physically travel to work..so if you are going to plop them as landmarks then adding to the population etc is essentially a bonus...I use it all the time!

ahh, but what happens to RCI when you have a residential population pushing up demand for jobs but none of those jobs are actually getting filled?? The pro of having residents is that it gives the illusion that they are residential buildings (even though they function like resident-less landmarks), and the con is that it messes with the simulation.

True, it does..what I try to do is get a few to grow then when I get frustrated plop them..say with Nofunks awesome Rowhomes, a few will grow on the zone, make them historic then plop in the gaps, it's kind of semi simulation, cheating.....but yeah, I don't often play as a full on simulation.

What would be great is tonnes of tilesets that could be clicked on and off...so if you only wanted Aarons to grow at that moment, just tick his...

But I digress into the realms of fantasy!

You guys can't get my buildings to grow. :(

I tried and tried to make you guys happy with out even playing Sim City, but to bat for the ones that are not able to bat. :(

List the building you can grow, NYBT and non NYBT buildings. If there was a way to make a building style just for me I would love to try to make it if it's not hard.

I always got them to grow just fine. It's just when you have longer rows, you'll always have one or two spots where every kind of building grows - every kind but the one you'd like to see there. Happens with Maxis buildings, too, so it's not a problem of your BATs. It's simply SimCity.

Your buildings grow in abundance for me now. But it's just like T Wrecks said, the longer the row, the harder it is to make the whole block grow exactly how you want. It's got nothing to do with your BATs in particular, it's just the game so don't worry.

Yeah your buildings all grow just fine for me.

Having ploppable residentials would still be nice though.

Having more tilesets would be nice too but unfortunately, at least from my understanding, that's one of the things hardcoded into the .exe that we can't change. We can change the names of the 4 tilesets and we can move buildings from tileset to tileset but we can't add more.

    But alas. :(

Thank you guys, you make me happy to know there are growing in your cities. I am planning to update the 41 park avenue one day, they seems to grow on mid density zones, which I will have to change. I do not want to make a plopable version, I have put more than enough of work on my bat's by making variations. :)

Here's the look at the starting of the Transportation Building, the box model started back in Decemeber. I have made a box model for the starting of the Timpsons apartments. :D

    Transportation Building

41 Park Avenue Plans For Update

The Franklin, Graham, and Hogan Apartments seems to grow on mid density. When i make an update I will let you know, and for you who know how to modd you know how to go to the lot exemplar file. :)

I also have to fix a model flaw, there is an floating ac unit on the back of one of the 41 Park Avenues. If you know the answer, post a picture of it can I will give you an rep_up.png. :D

You guys should know where the 41 Park Avenue folder is right? Plugins\NYBT\Aaron Graham\NYBT 41 Park Avenue.

    readerpic01.jpg

    201 E. 19 Street

Another update, I have added the ac units and chairs for the terrace, I hope you like them. Next is the variations and night lights, it's almost finished. :O

I just happened to see your comment on my windows. The funny thing is that I've been admiring your windows (they seem to gel nicely with those of jason and nofunk) for a while and after seeing mine in-game today thought I would love to get mine closer to that. Actually been attempting to emulate them for the past hour or so, but to little avail.

Can't quite tell if yours are cleverly textured to look reflective or if they are reflective with some modeled interior parts (or something else along those lines). Either way, the effect works and any hint would be welcome.

Edit: Read far enough back to see where you say they're textured. Wouldn't even know where to begin.

gutterclub- Thank you, I will do a great job on them. :D

Za- My glass is textured and have a little reflection. :D

Here's the link to texture I use for my night lights and for day glass. It looks ugly but it works great on my building. :D

    http://sc4devotion.c...topic=12670.500

What I use for the night windows is a over view of a city and I just made the texture yellow like the night windows in real life. then i use the umw map on the glass of the model, I usaully make the texture not tile. I make the numbers all the same for all the axis. :D

Here's the texture I use, you can always tweek it a bit. :D

Wow, many thanks! I was beginning to wonder if it was a city overhead... a closer max render on Whalesbridge from a while ago gave the clue. As for the ground, it looks like you use the one simfox distributed, in which case, I've been using as well. Don't worry, now that I know the method, I'll do my best not to copy too closely.

For 201 East 19th Street you may consider making the terrace floor a bit more different from the walls. Right now it all bleeds together a bit: if you focus on the terrace parapet first, you think "OK, now floor"... then you let your glance sweep over the potted plants and recliners, and all of a sudden you see a window and think "wait a second, this can't be floor any more".

It's great to see your Transportation Building again! :golly: I did download the first one, but I ended up not using it because it wasn't quite at the quality level I wanted - yet. I'm sure that your new rendition of it will easily surpass my quality expectations, though!
