I saw this picture of an unusual highway exit/entrance and I was inspired to try to do something similar in the game. It seems like an unnecessary complicated pattern for an exit but the excuse for my city is that there is a historic church that could not be destroyed or moved so they had to do all of the intersection on the West side of the highway.^_^

Nice work Lucario, Sims will have to make a detour untill the next version of NAM *:D

I recently reinstalled my game on a new pc so this city will sadly never be completed but here is a little work I thought was interesting to share with you. I saw this interchange (see last 2 pictures) in a youtube video and immediately ran to SimCity to try and see what it would look like in the game. It probably can be done in a more compact way, has any of you tried another version of this?

Elegant design up to the sample ! Old SimCity 4 installation can always reside on a new system with a brand installation if you customize the NAM running from a UserDir. Multiple projects can be run or old games stay playable for as long as one likes ! Still updating NAM to the latest version parallel without risk posible only replace the NAM files or do a custom NAM installation making shure it won´t touch any of the rest of your base and other UserDir installation, have a look athe the SimCity.exe startup parameters, wich configure processor core, sound, drivingside´s and UserDir locations !

    @Lucario Boricua Hmm that missing MIS under L1 diagonal MIS is not something I have encountered before. You may need to extend your overpass by an extra tile on each side and/or 'click like a madman' around the area to get it to show properly. Give that a try in a isolated test area and see if you can get it to display correctly.

    @sarcosis that's a grade-separated diverging interchange. Nuts how you got it to work in the game. Nice job!

    Haljackey:

    Is it possible to have an avenue overpass like that over an RHW8S? I've been trying to get that to work on a sunken highway using the on slope overpass pieces, but there's always either a support in the way (if I do the overpass first) or one tile snaps to the highway below.

    Love your videos BTW :thumb:

    EDIT:

    Just figured it out, not sure how I missed it while I was working on this for like 2 hours yesterday

    I noticed this. It does override to the connection you want but you may need to redrag/click around like a madman to get it to show properly. You also may have enough room to use a FARHW piece like the other direction.

    @Haljackey The provisional fix there is using the RHW-6S filler piece, which I did after noticing the problem. The fractional angle ramp pieces (which I've used extensively elsewhere) would be a hard sell because there could be override issues with the MIS overpass to the right.

    @MOWS 4 U Seems that you're learning RHW at a nice pace!

    I'm still learning NAM but I've finally finished my first interchange. I wanted to free a maximum of space at the east because that where the city will be. It's not the most smooth nor optimized, but I'm kinda okay with it for now.

    Let me know if I did something wrong, or how it could be better. I have learned a lot from here, thanks to you guys !

    That actually looks quite sleek for the space constraints to be honest. Kudos to your work. I actually quite like the design.

    Keep up the good work!

    Using NAM 40 features to bring an interchange up to full freeway standards + extending it to include a freeway conversion to the north.

    image.png.88fdf98f98c09b1b556c2e5924ba88f3.pngI know it's a bad idea, but I'm trying to shoehorn a highway interchange AND a boulevard on the absolutely minimum right of way, while also losing the minimum streetfront for commercial zoning. The weaving will be truly spectacular!
