Surveyor General Inn

Description:

A two-storey sandstone inn (hotel) in Berrima, New South Wales. Built in 1834 and is Australia's longest continuously licensed hotel.

sgiref.png.32c8e34e03aa7bd6a8b74b1b15482c0e.png

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

It adds a taste of Australia to the user's gameplay.

Yo, guys --

Any of you enterprising "batters" up for a drydock -- either naval or commercial -- say, about 3x13 ???

The only one I know of in the game is purely for eye-candy.  We need a serious one to complement the maritime side of the game.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

The cuckoo clock !

Yo, guys --

I'm back !!  This time I need a prop.

I'm working on a naval base and a good many of the ships are coal burners.  Unfortunately, there is no viable structure or method in the game  to deposit coal on board a ship.  Doing it "the hard way" used to involve a crane, heavy canvas bags, and a lot of unhappy, sweaty sailors.

These are pictures of SM2's gravel company lot.  His gravel hopper, used to load rail cars, is ALMOST perfect for what I need and it provides an example to work with.  The coaling hopper I need, however, does not need tracks or rail cars underneath.  On the front side it needs a long steel tube ( about 25 to 30 meters longs) sloping down toward where the ship would be.  Attached to the end of the tube there would be a thick canvas chute to funnel the coal into the bunker hatches.  This tube/chute is very similar to the ones found on watering towers for the old steam trains -- only longer and bigger.

CAN ANYONE MAKE ME A PROP LIKE THAT ??

South Cross Station Melbourne !

Mayor railway station, formaly Spencer street on the coridor into Flinderstreet station, serving all local, regional and long distance trains ! Sub teraen stations Warschsaw, Bern,  Penn Newyork, less well presented as level or raised stations, should have more. Glass roof maybe a complicated chalanege, rewarding none the less !

Mobil Petrol Station

Can you please model the Mobil petrol stations found in Australia from the 2000s? Here is an example: mobilref1.png.cd77681cc6c3331860532638aba68715.pngmobilref2.png.bb35ff4367985c1fa6e8009e293a116b.pngmobilref3.png.c4df0c32abfc9115e798d5b5a373bbfb.png

The car wash from the exit.

If possible, could you model the service station for SC4 please? Thanks.

I requested @mattb325 to model this.

Would be nice to see some more modern suburbia in this game. I feel we already have a some nice quality homes made by a few local BATers, but you can never have too much. Here are some Pulte homes (possibly mcmansions?) similar to the ones not too far from my neighborhood. It would be nice to create a subdivison of these:

Well aware of it, but as I said you can never have too much. I'm pretty happy with the current variety. But I'm creating a sprawl that is gonna be roughly 100 in game square miles, so the more the merrier. *:D

I've been holding out for Studio Gang's One Hundred building in St. Louis for awhile now...but I don't think I'll ever be so lucky to see that make it to SimCity.  So what about some of Studio Gang's smaller projects?

I think they would be two fantastic models to make a more attractive city.

I'd rather the 4 Times Square building (right) have the old "4" sign on it. Also, there should be a variant without the antenna.

Yo, guys --

I am working on a massive tile to host my Imperial naval Dockyard -- so I keep running into things I can't find, or can't use for some reason or other.

All harbors, be they big or small, need a flashing beacon to mark the entrance through the breakwater.  All of the lighthouse in the game are actually too big for this task and the only small, flashing beacon I can find belongs to the JRJ Breakwater set of seawalls.  The beacon is just the right type, just the right size -- but has "issues".  I found, through testing, that several squares laid out in a row (as in a breakwater), just don't look natural -- too straight -- too regular -- and some angles appear to be "off".

Soooo -- I decided to take the lot apart and use the beacon on a re-lot.  Only problem -- the light and the riprap are made as a single piece!

My last chance is to ask on "BAT Request".  The picture below shows the beacon, stand, and base -- which is all I need.  As a prop, I can attach it to any lot I like.  If you include the flashing light prop, that would be great.

can we pretty please get the IN-N-OUT Westwood location as a bat? it's just such a cool building, and so deserving of the bat treatment. I really would love to be able to plop this beauty in my cities. the in n out we do have is really underwhelming, and tbh i don't think it's scaled correctly at all.

The game's primary library leaves a lot to be desired.  There are some custom ones out there that are pretty good, but none that really remind me of a downtown type central library (unless I'm just not able to find them).  So I wanted to request St. Louis' Central Library.  Funded by Andrew Carnegie and designed by Cass Gilbert, it's a classical design and fairly simple.  Probably a good fit on a 6x6.  Maybe @Jasoncw or one of the mirpo gang since they're so good at the historical stuff ;)

@nycsc4I have the general intention of making more civic buildings, but well, I have the intention of making a lot of things... *:P

I agree though, there are a lot of standard types of things in cities that we don't really have yet. The typical beaux arts central libraries and museums, police stations, water pumps/treatment (often they were built as fancy monuments). There are a few but not a ton prewar American schools, even though schools are often centerpieces of neighborhoods, and it's the kind of building that you need to plop a lot of in a city.

I would love to see roundabouts, like those in NAM, designed as a separate mod. Old computer crashed and I'm recreating my SC4 content, but the program keeps crashing back to the desktop whenever I try to run it after installing NAM. (And, yes, I did install the Windows 10 patch for it.)

    CHAMORRO HERITAGE SITES

Description: (a) Tank wrecks on Saipan - left over from the Americans capturing Saipan from the Japanese in WWII (1944).  They are “sunk” in water six feet deep or so.

    (b)  latte stone park.  A latte stone is an ancient structural element in Chamorro buildings and in modern times is symbolic of Chamorro heritage.

    (c) Chief Quipuha was a respected Chamorro leader in the seventeenth century and the first Chamorro chief to become Catholic, which to this day is the dominant local faith.

why this would be beneficial to the game or the community: There is a lack (from my own searches, maybe I missed something) of Pacific island lots.  But between the rich cultural heritage and countless WWII wrecks, monuments, or other now Landmark-esque  leftovers dotting beautiful terrain, this is an opportunity to expand custom content in another direction :) .... not to mention having a centerpiece for your mainland Chamorro communities in a standard city.

add:First time poster/requester....got Origins version for now before I knew it wouldn’t allow batting.  I’ll leave it to the experts anyway ;) si Yu’us ma’åse (thank you!)

This one may be possible using the Lot Editor, probably even with Maxis props. There are rocks of various sizes and colours. Pile two small ones on top of one another and try to hide the seam as good as possible, then pile a big one on top - finished. Copy and rotate a few times or use slightly different rocks, distribute these over a tile with grass/dirt texture, and you should have something that looks reasonably close to the real thing.

The rocks released by Cycledogg, Pegasus, or nbvc (plus maybe other authors that I'm forgetting right now) might also be useful.

^ I guess fancy is in the eye of the beholder.  I'm not particularly fond of it and prefer the more classic historical look for a central branch.  Kind of looks like they took some inspiration from Vancouver, which I think is larger and better looking:
