What I've always sorely missed in SC4 are urban townhouses as can be found in cities as Antwerp or Brussels. (Click on the pictures to see the picture in Google Maps, you can wander around to see more examples).

Description:

These houses are common in Belgian cities (probably also in cities in the Northern départements of France). They are built at the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th century and can be found between the center of the city and the more suburban outter ring where buildings are more recent and lower. (First example: houses on the middle ring road of Brussels, second is the ring road of Leuven.)

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

As far as I know, no real urban townhouses like these can be found on the STEX or other SC4-websites.The available townhouses seem too 'suburban'. A less-region specific townhouse like this (a more 'universal' version) might benefit European citybuilder or lovers of European cities where most buildings are wall-to-wall. It would also make the transition between city centers and suburbs better.

I second this. I think there is quite a lacking of urban townhouses. Would definitely like to see some works from London, England's urban townhouses too, please.

It's been a long time since I've requested anything so here goes...

As you may or may not know, I like to use oversized signs in SC4. I know that they may not be the most realistic thing, but overscaling makes them easier to see in the game, as well as being able to read them and see other features, especially if they're HD signs.

I've been using the GTR Sign pack V2 as they were made for my (now retired) CJ/MD. They are a little overscaled and were made to be compatible with RHW 3.0. Link here:

However now that we're at RHW 5.0, with future releases still to come, this sign pack is pretty outdated and doesn't have signs for RHW features past RHW 3.0.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone was interested in making a new oversized sign pack for the RHW. It does not have to be anything like the pack above. I was actually thinking of getting signs made for those displayed in Ontario, Canada. Examples follow below. If these could be created in SC4 that would be awesome!

All images from http://www.asphaltplanet.ca. Click the pics for full size too.

The cathedral of learning is a staple of the U Pitt campus and a wonderful example of neo-gothic architecture.

Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathedral_of_Learning

Why This Would Benefit the Community:

This would be a great addition to universities or downtowns as a beautiful example of neo-gothic skyscraper architecture.

Thanks! I hope to see this soon!

Any of our excellent BATers (calling the Xannepan/JenX, Debussyman, Porkissimo bunch and their disciples) up to rendering European shopping gallerias - European covered shopping streets that are precursors to American shopping mall? Examples include Milan's Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert in Brussels and Naples' Galleria Umberto I,

To my knowledge, none exist (the closest I found is Porkissimo's stunning in Paris). It would be useful if these gallerias had CS jobs, and, of course, visually amazing if the glass roofs showed the interiors lit at night (not too much work, eh?).

Hyatt Regency in Phoenix, AZ

6205980442_6c2047fee5_b.jpg

Description:

The Hyatt Regency Phoenix is a convention hotel in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona, USA. It is 317 feet (97 m) tall and has 24 floors. It was

completed in 1976. The top floor has a revolving restaurant. It was designed by Charles Luckman and Associates to complement the Phoenix Civic Plaza (now called Phoenix Convention Center) and Phoenix Symphony Hall. The hotel's façade is clad in textured split ribbed concrete block.

The hotel lobby and restaurants occupy the main level. The second floor features meeting rooms and an additional restaurant while an atrium rises 8 stories. Floors 9 through 21 house guest rooms. Floors 22 and 23 house mechanical equipment and are called "the neck of the Compass".

The Compass Restaurant sits atop the hotel on floor 24. The Compass is Arizona's only revolving restaurant. The elevator bank

offers two enclosed guest elevators and three "scenic elevators", which glide upward from the lobby, through the atrium and, finally, on the building's exterior, offering amazing views of Phoenix.

Hyatt Regency Phoenix Christmas TreeThe hotel has 696 guests rooms, four restaurants, 42,000 square feet (3,900 m2) of meeting space and various retail outlets.

The Hyatt Regency Phoenix was chosen by the NFL as the headquarter hotel for Super Bowl XLII which was played in nearby Glendale, Arizona in February 2008.

On July 1, 2008 The Hyatt Regency Phoenix was sold for $96

million to Los Angeles-based DiNapoli Capital Partners.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or the Community:

This building is one of the few I think of when I think of the city of Phoenix. Born and raised there as I was, I haven't been able to find many buildings on the Exchange from the city of Phoenix. I don't think I am alone in thinking this would be a good building for the community!

Not sure if this is the right place for this but here goes.

I'm looking for a castle for my city. Any will do but preferably nothing too large. I tried Paeng's castle walk and everything but the castle worked. That's a real shame because it was 3x5 and that is the perfect size.

So I'm wondering if you guys know of or could make a BAT castle? This is the last thing I need to get my CJ going.

Hi there!

I don't frequent this site often, but I love finding awesome buildings that this amazing community creates. The other day I found a Modd that allows the player to legalize medical marijuana, and since I installed it I found myself enabling it on nearly all of my new cities.

But this posed an interesting problem... Where do my sims obtain their legal weed? :???:

I come to you, users of Simtropolis, begging for a Medical Marijuana BAT.

:read:

My only request is that the lot be either CS-$ or CS-$$ (maybe CS-$$$ if you can imagine a 'medical spa' or something).

I would make this myself if I was comfortable using the software, but I can seem to get any of the programs to work... so... PLEASE AND THANK YOU! :D :D :D

Finally got up the nerve to ask for some help. I am not one to make my own props or bats or mods for SimCity and have a request. I am attempting to make a region that has vehicles from the area that I live, but do not know how to make my own mods to change the way Police, Ambulance and City buses look. I am hoping someone might be able to help me out with this?

Here is what I am hoping to have done, with links to the pictures of what the vehicles look like (not that savy with uploading to other sites :???: ) ...

Police: Appleton Police Department (Car and Van)

** Police Van is a Black & White Dodge Caravan and has Red lights on the driver's side and Amber lights on the passenger side (same design as the car)

Ambulance: Gold Cross Ambulance

Bus: Appleton Valley Transit

I am really hoping someone might be able to help me out with this. I am able to get pictures to who-ever is able to help me. Please either PM me or you can email me directly for more information at tim.jahner@gmail.com.

Thank you in advance to anyone that might be able to help me with this. :D

Aussie Pubs

pub_8123.jpg

Australia Hotel Shepparton, Vic

Description. Hotels from country Australia

pub3.jpg

pub4.jpg

pub5.jpg

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community? After a hard days work on the farm or factory, sims need a cold beer. Plus some country towns in Australia, the Pub is the only building. It needs to be a corner lot to make pub crawls easier and it needs a beer sign on the roof that lights up. As a bonus, country pubs look just like city pubs.

I've been having a terrible time trying to do an overcanal rail viaduct/overpass. I'm sure this ought to be in the NAM somewhere already but I'm damned if I can find it.

The layout I have so far is something like this: __________ ____________

. \________/

where the rail is on an embankment and the canal runs below it. I want to bridge that gap - without any unrealistic rail incline. Can someone make me a simple rail-bridge ( like this:

. _________

. |__( )___|

)

or explain to me how to create lots with an overhang? It's defeated me, I just want to bridge the canal :'(

I was just reading this (dead) topic over at SC4D - https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=13209.340 - and the crossings in there are very nice. I did wonder if anyone who understands the animation requirements might be able to make one of the old style level crossings with big white gates that are pushed alternately across the road and the tracks - like this one at Hubbert's Bridge:

Hubberts_Bridge_railway_station_in_2006.jpg

Thanks?

Now that I have your attention, I'd really like for the S-Bahn passenger carriages here to be lotted as drive-able automata (ie. a reskin for the train). I think that the prop is given here, it shouldn't be too hard to do (unless my knowledge is wrong.

Many thanks!

Yoshi.

If Possible it would be great to have a small Thai temple or something similar to REPLACE the MAXIS CHURCH so I can retain the rewards etc but keep my city asian style :-).

Im not sure if there is already one to replace the church on the stex or not. I have downloaded Landmark Thai Temples from the stex is it possible to change there stats so they become reward buildings that replace the church?

Why Would it benifit the community?

Your Asian/Buddhist sims can enjoy a nice reward temple in keeping with an asian themed city :-)

Thanks for reading

arcologies.jpg

Forgive me if these have been requested before, but I always found the lack of these 4 arcologies to be disturbing. SimCity4 needs these.

Arcologies are iconic to SimCity. These massive structures contain R, C, and I all in one, and even have their own limited police and fire forces, ect. The Launch Arcology (the most advanced and most expensive of the 4) holds an extra secret. These are essentially cities in giant buildings and provide huge population boosts.

Note: I understand that these attributes may be quite tricky to implement into the SimCity4 engine, so if anyone feels up to attempting these, but doesn't feel up to trying to make them fully functional as arcologies, then feel free to simply recreate them as landmarks, then maybe someone can attempt to implement the arcology features at a later time. If someone wants to attempt it all at once though, then by all means, more power to you. That would be awesome!

I'm positive the Plymouth arcology is in the SimMars mod, and the Launch arco was on one of the Japanese mod sites. They don't function like the SC2 arcos, but that's a game limitation IIRC.

I'll definitely check out the SimMars mod then. I heard about the Launch Arco on a Japanese site but I couldn't find it. Thanks regardless for the info though!

And also, has anyone really done any other legacy SimCity BATs? Like recreations of SC2K and SC3K buildings for SimCity4? If not, it would be pretty cool to have some legacy building recreations.
