As some of you know, I have a little side venture going on in addition to Schulmania. Monkey Island is featured over on SC4Devotion. It began as a running bit on the now-defunct SHT Show, a thread in CJ forum featuring the comic stylings of myself, Football Fever, Fledder200, Jacqulina, Narya and more. I decided to spin it off into its own thread, which earned Of Special Interest This Month honors on SC4D back in December. Monkey Island chugs along over there, incorporating some monkey humor and banana-laced cities from time to time.

King C. George III, ruler of Monkey Island, is pleased to report that the thread has now attained the status of "classic" on SC4D. And, as a classic, a special tribute video has been posted. Please feel free to take a look at Monkey Island and enjoy the CJ/MD which earned 5 out of 5 bananas from the Chimpania Times and 2 non-opposable thumbs from the Gorilla Gap Gazette.

East Atkinos: Flower Power

The lone outpost of Schulminion society sits far to the east on the coast, well south of Devonshire's towns and well east of the nearest East Atkinos town. Rather than being a mere semblance of Schulmania, planting the flag on otherwise untouched soil, Woods of Wayne offers all of the amenities expected of any Schulminion town. The frontier is remote, but certainly not rugged.

The town is operated from stately Wayne Manor, along the Ocean Promenade. A small plaza is adjacent, featuring a Schulminion flag and a monument to intrepid Fleet Captain von Bremerhaven, who has established the town as the home port of his fleet.

Across from Wayne Manor is Brian Park. The pond is a popular and scenic gathering spot.

Spiritual needs of the town are served by the Chapel of the Serene Feline, which boasts a spectacular setting for its fine stone edifice. The church was built with funds from Chancellor Mooky and is a distinctive local landmark.

The belltower is a welcoming sight to those arriving by sea.

Parishioners enjoy the short walk to get there for services. The come for the sermon, but stay for the awesome potluck dinners afterwards.

With no roads into the interior, transit occurs by trail over hilly, forested terrain or by boat. Connections by sea provide access from Cape Eastway and Impudence Lake in Devonshire. The port in Woods of Wayne is fairly small, but is well suited for the amount of maritime traffic this small town currently handles.

What could be a more welcoming sight that a meadow full of flowers? Arrivals are greeted by abundant blooms just outside the port facility.

As viewed from the shore, the flower power of Woods of Wayne is strikingly evident.

The bustling port supports thriving businesses along Ocean Promenade. The turret of the MEOW Building can be seen next to the Schulmania flag.

Businesses line the promenade, but also appear along the southern side of town. A variety of organizations operate along the town's edge.

Miss Carol's Inn is the only guest house. Guests are always hungry - the great smells coming from the pastry chef school next door build quite an appetite!

Oddly enough, this kiosk in front of an office building sells flowers. One would think one would just pick them for free. But, the wife won't be happy unless it comes as a bouquet... c'mon you cheapskate, spend a few schulmonetas on her!

The red brick façade of the town's school anchors the south side of the promenade. It features classes for all ages from kittens to senior felines.

I think every time I come to East Atkinos..I want to stay. Maybe I can find a small home near Stately Wayne Manor? I like the neighbors over there. I checked out the neighborhood. I think NMUSpidey was over there..I saw a flash of red and blue.

Ah, Stately Wayne Manor, it's a very proud building from which to conduct official business in the Woods of Wayne.  Now, Woods of Wayne needs a protector from the dangers of the forest.  The frontier can be a dangerous and frightening place, but the evil that lurks in the countryside is largely a cowardly and superstitious bunch, and the knowledge of a protector will keep them at bay.  But not just any protector, but one who does not fear the dark (nor the gray), one who will fight for the good of the frontier and be a symbol, and not just any symbol, but a Dark Knight...
