    East Atkinos: The Longest Church

Settlers from Atkinos Town often sail east into this area. A group of parishioners from St. Paul's Church in Atkinos decided to settle together and form a new town. The central feature of the town is a long, narrow church, St. Paul's Cathedral of the Preformed Assumption. We will see how this church dominates the town which surrounds it.

A wide view of the town, to give some perspective. New Atkinos and points north are to the left.

    ch1kg5.jpg

The entrance to the cathedral faces St. Paul's Square, a favorite gathering spot for townsfolk.

    ch2ta5.jpg

The massive building also hosts a seminary and a theological library.

    ch4eg5.jpg

The rear of the church empties into Stell Plaza. A cut stone promenade connects the two ecclesiastic plazas with a pair of scenic walkways.

    ch3dw3.jpg

The dominating feature of the church, and the town, is the massive bell tower. One of the tallest structures ever built in Schulmania; it can be seen from miles away in every direction.

Let's take some closer in views of the distinctive tower.

I like that church , It's so noticable that when you probably enter town that's the first place you ask to go to.

Oh my! That is a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong one man! the longest church I've ever seen! Good to see all your "historic-beautiful-notable" stuff again man. And yeah, I am back, but you know, RL beats all of us so I don't really know if I am going to be that active..anyways I am commenting4.gif!! lol

Nice to remember old times here in Schulmania, well, that new Schulmania! (I noticed cause it is only 16 pages 31.gif ) So see you later my friend, and take care

Oh my... halleluja!!! This must be one half of the Holy Spirit concentrated in this... mansion? No, tsts, church I wanted to say! Good to know that the other half is concentrated in the St. Peter's Cathedral (btw, have you realized that the Pope somehow looks like the Emperor from Star Wars? If staying in the Vatican has these visual effects, we should seriously ask ourselves: will the next pope look like Ivana Trump?) lol

Enough now, I have to behave.

Good work, cool update (you are definitely the update master) , beautiful layout of the city and yes: looking very much forward to more,

    take care,

    lucky7

Woah! That is one hell of a big town! Er..... I mean a heavenly large town... with an equally large church.

Excellent details by the way, the town is reminiscent of old Roman cities. All it's missing is an aqueduct!

Nice cat-ederal, it definitely is the dominant feature of the town, but is realistic to how many towns once looked like.

lucky7 I have not actually seen very much of Austria. I would love to come explore that area some more.

ky72x And I have a cool feature under development for the site!

ac94 Thanks! My hint would be to keep on keeping on. When I started, I wondered if I would ever get off of page 1. You just plug away and it will grow all by itself.

NMUSpidey Aye, laddie! That there is!

anarchy0029 Thanks! I am going to work on a website email address. I have not gotten that far yet. Good idea, though.

Hester Thanks! How much do I owe you for that review?

Benedict I am glad you like it. The website took a good deal of work, but it is just the beginning!

penguin007 The longest building is the lighthouse in Smightower.

Shingure Definitely. It is a can't miss.

Asturianu CRISTIAN IS BACK!! WOOT! We are now on Volume 2 because the forum software was having a fit with the 268 pages of Volume 1. And, we have the new website as added back up as well. Come back again soon - your roommate says the rent is due and is looking for your half. 3.gif

lucky7 Danke! I have one update left of East St. Paul. It is coming up next.

Smarty218 Aqueduct, you say? Here's a free hint: they will be making a comeback in Schulmania soon. So, keep an eye out for them!

    Leech10 Thanks!

sc4portugal I am glad you like it. And, I am pleased that RL people decided to model a building after one in Schulmania. What an honor! 3.gif

panthersimcity4 Hmmm... you have me intrigued!

Gn_leugim Obrigado! Bem-vindos à Schulmania! I am glad you like the recent update and hope to see you back for more.

Explodingsims Thanks! One more from here is in the on-deck circle.

NMUSpidey Cool! Thanks. And, just you wait. More new places are on the way. Some are even halfway decent looking. The rest, just gloss over and smile and nod...

Dfnva Thanks, Dan. Actually, many towns did center on the church like this in the old days. In this case, I started with the church and then started building in layers around it, trying to keep it rather irregular and asymmetric to give it a more organic feel.

WWW.SCHULMANIA.INFO UPDATE >> If you have not been back since day 1, I have added some graphics to the media page and now have the first 31 chapters of Schulmania in PDF form in the ST archive. Hope you like it!

Based on the cartoon, I just hope the longest building isn't made from "kitty dung" 3.gif

I'm sorry I have a habit of being a smartass.

However, I will look forward to it.

That church looks really nice, good choice. It's very realistic to have the church in the middle (altho I have the feeling I already said that in my previous comment). The website looks really nice aswell. Keep on going!
