East Atkinos: Beyond the Gates

The Gates of Schulmericho appeared suddenly, forming a chain of steep hills along a fault line running from near the New Atkinos coast close to the Devonshire border. Scientists determined that the fault line was sufficiently stable to allow a settlement nearby. This was a good thing, since a group of colonists arrived and set up camp shortly after the seismic activity. They looked forward to rich volcanic soil and healing mineral springs. The mainland settlement fell under the jurisdiction of Fleet Captain Splunt, appointed colonial governor of the formerly uninhabited territory now assigned to the Grand Duchy of East Atkinos.

This was just one of several new towns forming in the newly-opened territory. Settlers from New Atkinos looking for economic expansion established a township across the channel from their island. Named for the mostly sunny sky they saw when they arrived, the new town of Blue Stratus now anchors the southeastern corner of civilized Schulmania.

Let's investigate the town formed along the Gates of Schulmericho and aptly named for said mountains.

New, rocky peaks jump out, jutting jaggedly and alliteratively from land just beyond the back patios of residents.

This would be a great place for a sled in winter. But, it does not snow here. I suppose a good place for a soap box derby?

Watch out for those teeth!

In town, busy markets sell local produce, which grows in abundance in the mineral-rich soil. The mineral water from small springs is also a big seller.

And, when it comes time for a great lunch, we all know where to head!

CK has the only billboard in town. Catchy, isn't it?

On the mainland, due east of the island of New Atkinos, proximate to the productive farmlands of the interior, sits the new town of Blue Stratus. It was named after the lovely blue sky with a few stratus clouds in it when the town was founded. Little did they know how ominous those clouds over the town would become. Scratch that. That sounds a bit downbeat. Accurate, but downbeat. I mean, it was named for a weather formation. There's no foreshadowing here, honest. Well, maybe a little. Umm, perhaps a bit more than a little. Well, let's not ruin it for the poor, hapless townsfolk by letting them in on their impending doom. Well, that's not fair. Sometimes, fate call stall out and what looks like thick black clouds of doom may just be a storm headed elsewhere. Think these folks will be that lucky?

The local office of the Rodent Appreciation Society doubles as the town bakery. Interestingly enough, the cats seem to appreciate the rodents most when they are baked and topped with a cheesy sauce.

Small industries have set up to process agricultural products and there's a busy cottage industry in building defective machinery. It is hard to say if the defective machinery is meant as gag gifts or for deceiving the purchaser. But, any effort to dodge integrity will certainly be met with wrath from the Supreme Wirdle's subordinates.

The Blue Stratus Machinery Rotunda is having a blowout sale on all locally-produced defective equipment - buy one machine and get a box of sympathy cards FREE. Use the cards for the recipient of your gag gift or issue them to yourself when you try to use the equipment. The surrounding plaza is an oft-used site for playing dodge 'em with matchbox cars.

Of course, all of this excitement inevitably leads to hunger.

Surprisingly, Blue Stratus is the first town in Schulmania to have two types of Chicken Kings!

Very creative use of the buildings' placement, and the street placement.

On the sixth picture, why do I see a building built on a  foundation that is higher than street level and the people? I think you need to readjust the ground underneath the building.

It is just impressive. I love the accomplishment of the buildings and the use of plants. The pedestrian areas are really pretty and that CK made me hungry

Later that night notorious Schulmania fanatic and conspiracy theorist Anik led his band of mercenaries into the local Chicken King in Schulmerico, raiding the store and stealing off with all the food, just days after Anik announced that he believed the infamous page-flip bug was hiding in the innocent-looking restaurant to avoid paparazzi coverage and publicity. One question remains, however, that police have not yet been able to answer: Where did all of the stolen food go?

A few days later, after the store restocked its food.

A another robbery have occured in Chicken King. However, the robber did not take any money, only the food from Chicken King. Police have decided to keep a close watch on Chicken King resturent. Meanwhile the police is still wandering, who stole all the food, and where did the food go?

A third robbery has taken place at Chicken King. Once again, only food was stolen, and the police are baffled as to how it could happen again, in spite of the increased security at Chicken King. There are still no clues as to who stole the food, or where it is now located.

A fourth robbery occured at night, the day after the third robbery occured, even with with increased police sercurity at Chicken King. Also, the store owner installed 5 locks on the food storage room door, 4 locks on all the other doors. None of the locks were damaged or picked. One of the police captains suspected the robber may have tunneled into the food storage room, and when finished taking everything, the robber covered up the enterance to the tunnel.

The police then searched for a tunnel enterance, and they found one, under a floor tile. When the police searched the tunnel, they smelled cooked chickens and they knew the robber used the tunnel. When they came to the other end of the tunnel, the tunnel leads to a basement underneath a building that has a foundation that is higher than street level and the people.

When the police searched the basement, there was chicken pieces and bones littering the floor, but no one was in the basement. The building owner deinded stealing the chickens, but she heard some strange noise in the basement every night. The police is now keeping a very close watch on the building, and the Chicken King building.

The police still doesn't know who was stealing and eating the chickens, but they now know where and what happened to the stolen food.

Uhhh... heheh... no those aren't Panther pawprints... they belong to a....uhh... cougar! Yeah, that's it!

Police report on food robbery in Chicken King:

Police have idenitfed the the footprints in the basement. The footprints matched Anik, Hahayoudied, Leech 10's footprints. Also, police have discovered panthers' and cats' paw prints in the basement. Panthersimcity4 is also suspected as one of the Chicken King food robbers since his or her paw prints matches some of the paw prints in the basement, Panthersimcity4 is the only panther around in the area. Police are still identifing the cat paw prints.

The highly raised building owner heard Anik, Hahayoudied, Leech 10, and Panthersimcity4's voices after the robbery, and very soft drilling noise for about a week  in the basement before the Chicken King robbery. The building owner also heard meows and other noises that only cats makes after the fourth Chicken King food robbery, no human voices.

Anik, Hahayoudied, Leech 10, and Panthersimcity4 are suspected as the Chicken King food robbers.

This police report was printed six days after the fourth food robbery at Chicken King.

After a slight blurring of the background, the image of an 8 foot tall woman with green skin, a tail, and moderately short hair appeared in front of the police officers.

With all these robberies it's going to make the price of Chicken King higher for everyone else, and perhaps shut down the location! Then, there will be CK for NO ONE! Do you know what that means? It's a tragedy!

Police report on Chicken King robberies:

Police have finally idetified the cat paw prints. The Cat paw prints belonged to 10 cats in the town and police was suspecting Schulmanator as one of the cats who joined with the other group of robbers to steal the food from Chicken King. However, police later decided to drop Schulmanator as the Chicken King food robber due to lack of strong evidences.

The police are now looking for Anik, Hahayoudied, Leech 10, and Panthersimcity4 to arrest them for robbing the Chicken King three times, for damaging two buildings by tunneling to Chicken King, and for trespassing private property.

If anyone have seen Anik, Hahayoudied, Leech 10, or Panthersimcity4, please report to the local police ASAP!
