Cool design, those side roof thingies look really weird though, your reference seems to have them more turret-like. I think you'd be better off removing them since you modeled that part of the building differently from the reference.

I'm realizing I had a lot more BATs in progress than I thought. Hope you all liked Patin Printing. Here is another one...

 

 

I'm calling this one Kilbourn Tower. It was inspired by a building in Baltimore, Maryland, but is a purely fictional creation. I hope to have this done before the end of the month!

 

So I'm excited for the Trixies! In past years I have been honored to win the Best Pre-War BAT Trixie, and if anyone would like to nominate me this year, that is once again the Trixie I would most like to be nominated for.

So... once again I have fallen off the radar. And once again I have decided to try and get back into BATing by working on a small "palate cleanser"... 

 

     

 

The Sarajevo Lounge is a small commercial building in Seattle, Washington, at the corner of First Avenue and Battery Street. For whatever reason it caught my eye, and I decided it was sufficiently simple to get me back into the habit of modeling. This should be on the STEX soon!

 

And once I'm done with this, I'll get back to some of my more notable WIPs, that I'm sure you're all wishing I'd work on instead of this little BAT. 

 

Finally, a VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to everyone who nominated me for a Trixie this year and who has supported me throughout the years. I still do this for all of you and for this community that I love!

"More notable"? "More notable"? Pray tell, what is this little corner BAT if not 'notable' at the very least? An interesting and charming building that comes as much-needed corner W2W in your usual modeling and texturing quality is definitely filed under 'notable' in my books!

Let me ask, what are you planning to make next? If you're up for a request, I found a charming little gem at the corner of South 4th street and East State street.

Borgmästarjojje, that's a cute little building! And totally possible too, but I don't want to commit to anything right now because I am hoping to get some of my current projects finished. I'll keep it in mind though!

 

So, I've started work again on a project I first showed you all last fall -- a sprawling factory on Milwaukee's near north side. I went by the other day and saw a sign on it for Aluminum Conversion Technology and although I don't think the company exists anymore (I think the building is now vacant), I have decided to stick with the name, because it has a definite SimCity sound to it!

Oh my gosh! Has it really been nearly a year since I updated this thread?! I don't even have a good excuse! -- I promise you life is not so exciting in Milwaukee that I couldn't have checked in from time to time. I'm so ashamed... 

 

Well, let me resolve now not to be so elusive in 2015!

 

In case you missed it, I was interviewed as part of the STEX 100 million download celebration! I also uploaded two BATs for the event. You can check them out here:

 

   

 

Next, I plan to finish up work on the Garfield Block for mipro. Here's how it looks currently:

 

 

I will be modeling the interior and using transparent glass, since the windows are so large. Other than that, I think the texturing work is just about done. I'll post another update once I get some more work done on it!

 

I also have a number of other WIPs that I need to work on -- Kilbourn Tower, 3100 W Center Street, and others -- and I hope to work through my existing WIPs before starting anything new.

 

Anyway... happy 2015! Hope everyone is doing well!

That's great news! It's been awfully silent in here.

 

Great to see progress on Garfield Block, too! As usual, those textures are a treat. However, since the windows are so large, it will be interesting to see how much the building really comes to life once they are more than blank panes. Please don't have us wait for another year, eh?
