    Thanks everyone!

And now for a little bit of a diversion:

You might recall that last year I updated and released the Bronx Courthouse with new textures and DarkNite functionality. My plan has been to do the same for many of my more popular older BATs, and the Detroit Film Exchange is the next in the series!

Updated textures, night windows, DarkNite compatibility. Above you can see a side-by-side comparison. I recognize that the night before and after may not be a fair comparison, since it's MaxisNite vs. DarkNite, but it DOES show you the difference between the flat white windows of the old version against the more dynamic new windows.

Just need to finish updating the modding, and this will be on the STEX!

    Happy December!

Looking good! Also, cannot wait for Aqua, realistic nightclubs are sorely needed in the game for entertainment districts.

Thanks! And Aqua is on its way too! Finished up the textures, and I just need to light it up. :)

Looking nice, but what about the back of the building? You didn't show it, and probably you might have tweaked something there as well.

Yes, I did make some changes to the back. The north face didn't change (aside from the textures) but on the west face I redesigned the loading bay and added metals doors to bring the BAT in-line with how it looks IRL:

And I don't think the original version had the exposed concrete framing either.

It did on the north face, but you're correct that the concrete framing is new on this side (and again accurate to the IRL building).

Just wanted to say as a user fairly new to playing with darknight, this is greatly appreciated. I loved a lot of the older buildings (part of the reason I was so hesitant to use darknight) but with efforts like these I can use some of my favorite buildings again. Also your work is phenomenal, keep on being awesome.

Looks better. Are you going to do your older bats that's in 3ds max?

If you have not done it already I think it can be a good idea to use the same lot, desc, and model files, just update them. I think it's a good idea to recycle the old files. The only reason I said this for the model can be the same model number/ file is because it's the same model just improved texturing. :D

I think you should change the window textures to reflect things on the ground, since from the SC4 viewing angle buildings wouldn't be reflecting clouds.

I love it, especially the water tower..have you any plans to do Steerforth Tower and the other 2? Really great you are going back to some older models as well as releasing new stuff. Massive thank you as always..

Jason needs to try and get hold of Simfox and see if he can get those Darknite versions he did of some of his released.

Thanks! I would love to update and release ALL my old BATs (OK, maybe not all) but it's really going to come down to which ones I still have the model files for. I'll take a look and see if I've got the files for the art deco trio.

Unfortunately, I lost a hard drive a couple years ago, and early on I wasn't very good at saving files, so we'll see what I can cobble together. But rest assured there will be more!

I think the texturing is done, so now it's just a matter of lighting it up!

Great stuff! It's no surprise that you keep making top-quality BATs, but I constantly admire how vivid and interesting the rooftops of your BATs look even if there's hardly any junk on them.
