About This File

I woke up very early this morning so I decided to start a building... And I wound up finishing it too. This is a portable to put near (or away from, I suppose) your schools. It provides a cheap fix for overcrowding in your small schools so you don't have to blow your budget on a large school. All comments welcome.

Cost 40 to plop

satisfies maximum of 500 students (minimum max allowed)

small area

1x1 tile

This looks pretty useful. I will try it out in areas that only need minimal school coverage.

I had something like this at the elementary school that I attended. They needed more class space so they bought two trailers and plop them near the the playground.

Thanks for the comments! mexicanboy13r: The base texture of the lot is the same as the school's so they can match. Brutalizer: I don't use MSN, but this is the URL of the tutorial I used to figure out gmax/BAT: https://www.simtropolis.com/tutorials/Essential_BAT

This is a great idea! It definitely reflects what is happening to our school system here in the US. However, I think 500 students is a bit too much for such a small building!

In Tennessee this is old hat. Even the new schools that were buildt in the last year have portable classrooms. Another realistic touch Thank you

Pleased to see that people like it! Terse Pig: When setting the maximum capacity, the smallest I could get in the Plugin Manager was 500 (I wanted something like 60). I am not sure if it can be changed to something better in iLive's reader, but I think I'll try.

I went to an elem. school that had a couple of these behind the school building, and my university had one put up when it served as a military research facility during WWII. In both cases they were referred to as annexes. Anyway, great lot! How about a similar one for high school?

Well, I'll definently end up turning down the funding on this one to be more realistic. But these are awesome! My brother's band class was in one of these this past school year

(continued), as the room that was used for band previously was changed into another preschool room, due to a sudden surge of young students into the district...

This is good. Perfect for the tiny country town of 500 or for extra room for a school in a town with 5000! I would like to see more school portable buildings.

Yeah, we need these. Good job. Oh, and btw, it is possible to create lower capacities in the reader. Interestingly, my high school didn't have any of these... The dance studio was kinda like this, but it looked more like a large shed from the outside.

great idea! however, i think 500 students is too many for this. 50 or 100 might be a more reasonable number.

Great sense of realism here, 8/10! Frogface - I agree, I remember having mock GCSEs in one of these babies in the winter and my hand was so cold I couldn't write!!
