About This File

To date, most SC4 buildings from Latin America/the Middle East/Africa/etc has focused either on low-wealth houses and shops, or high-wealth skyscrapers. There's somewhat of an absence of medium-wealth, medium-density content. I have more projects planned along these lines, but with how slow I work and so on, figured I should upload these now (since I'm also going to be out of the country and away from computer for a while).

These apartments are based on a residential complex in Al-Zahra City, Gaza Strip. A modern planned city located near the mouth of Wadi Gaza, Al-Zahra was the brainchild of Yasser Arafat, first president of Palestine, in the 1990s to prevent the expansion of the nearby Israeli settlement of Netzarim, which could have cut the Gaza Strip in half. It had a population of about 6,000 inhabitants in October 2023. Many of these apartments were subsequently destroyed prior to the IDF's withdrawal from the Wadi Gaza (Netzarim) corridor in January 2025. Although this particular apartment building originates from the Middle East, it could fit in equally well within an Asian, South American, African or Eastern European city.

  • R$$ 130 or 560 inhabitants
  • 2x2, 2x3, 5x5
  • Prop and building exemplars included—lot your own if you like
  • MaxisNite and DarkNite versions included; keep only one of the folders marked "MN" or "DN"

Really versatile buildings for the game, perfect for sustainable developments (notice the solar panels and water tanks in the roof), and nice lots to accompany them. Also, a rare case of a fairly new real-life building with such a significant historical relevance!

Very beautiful, befitting many different architectures and cities, but most importantly —preservation of a small piece of (architectural) culture in the face of its violent, wanton erasure. Thank you very much.
