About This File

The Daily Mirror, Los Angeles, by Mattb325.
---------------------------------------

The Daily Mirror building is part of a much larger Los Angeles Times newspaper complex. Known as the Crawford addition, it was built in 1948.

This 11-floor building is done in the functional streamline moderne style and makes for an interesting art-deco inspired mid-rise building.

It is offered as a growable medium wealth commercial services building on a 2x3 lot that will employ 825 workers. If you wish to make this ploppable, I suggest downloading Buggis extra cheats which will make this (and everything else in your plugins) available to plop from a drop-down list.

NOTE ABOUT DARK NITE vs MAXIS NITE:
There are two model files in this download. You must select the appropriate file from the download. The file suffixed with 'DN' is for those users with a night-time darkening mod installed. The file suffixed with 'MN' is for users who do not have any such mods installed.

If you are unsure whether you have a night-darkening mod installed, then choose the Maxis night version.

If you use the dark nite version, you will need a dark nite mod. (http://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/23089-simfox-day-and-nite-modd/)

DEPENDENCIES:

There are no dependencies for this file

---------------------------------------

To install, simply unzip the contents of this file into your plugins folder. NB: before anyone asks, the parking lot textures are not part of the lot: it is the SAM1 with the magento texture override *;)

What's New 1.0.2   View Changelog

Released

Corrected a glitched s3d file that affected Z3 West rotation. Just re-download the file and over-write the model to correct. The game will automatically display the changes with no need to bulldoze existing lots.

Updated the Maxis Nite version as for some reason the previous update only affected the DN version to correct the glitch. Users affected, just download the file and let it over-write the model files. You do not need to bulldoze anything in game, it will automatically update.

Very nice -- just a hint of Art-Deco -- but a simple, classic facade.

A flexible building that can be used in a W2W setting or a "stand alone" that can be "dressed out" with PedMall pieces or small plazas.

The night lighting, as always, is gorgeous !!

Wonderful addition to SimCity. Sorry I haven't been around of late. Chaos reigns in Newark.

You are a master craftsman, and inspired in what you choose to craft.  This baby is awesome!  I loves me my midrises!  I wonder if you've ever thought of making variations of these workhorses with different skins so they can be placed closer together within a city?  Hate to ask, but no good deed may go unpunished!

thank you  I am loving these classic LA buildings from the 1940ish era  they inspire me to watch some old movies from that time

Besides being beautiful day & night  this also grows and functions perfectly
