About This File

A secluded inlet fed by a river descending from the surrounding cradle of mountains provides the perfect spot to build a town or two, or even a thriving metropolis.

All cities (except 2 in the corners) are pre-incorporated on Easy difficulty, and most are connected by by a RRW or RHW network.  Yellow dots on the map locate surface-road access to the highway.

Dependencies:  this region requires that the Network Addon Mod is installed.  Additionally, you must ensure that the following NAM options are installed via a Custom Installation:

  • RHW (Real HighWay) and all components (only need network levels L0 through L2)
  • MHO (Maxis Highway Override)
  • RRW (Real RailWay) and rail viaducts
  • Road viaducts, all components
  • Wide Radius Curves

I have also attached my personal slope mod that I used to build the networks in this region.  Make sure you remove any other slope mods from your plugins folder.

To change the name and mayor name of the already-incorporated cities, you can use Buggi's Extra Cheats Plugin.

Installation:  Unzip the folder, place "The Bay" folder into Documents\SimCity 4\Regions.

This is excellent, thank you for doing this. I think personally this will give me some insight into how RHW works and should be used, as I want to use it but don't know what I'm doing most of the time. A cool idea serving a variety of different purposes. Especially as a lot of the guides are outdated or the images accompanying them are now gone, a demo like this for NAM is extremely useful.

Great idea and job well done!

I find it funny though because the idea of adding preexisting highways and railways seems very similar to how another certain game begins.
