About This File

This is one of the extra files @catty-cb has maintained on her site and now has kindly passed over to us here at Simtropolis for hosting. Inside the zip is the LandmarkConverter.exe file.  Place it in your C:\GOG Games\SimCity 3000 Unlimited\Apps folder. There is also a Readme_LandmarkConverter.txt file in the zip which explains how to use the tool. (Tho it's really easy so just refer to that if something goes goofy.)

I've used @Yohane Architects's Golden Coast Apartments building as the sample in my pics. *;)

You will notice this file is not my creation and credit for keeping it alive goes to catty. This STEX entry will stay under my name tho since I'm in charge of the new SimCity 3000 Sub-Forum and I'll be the one to reply to comments or questions.

@Astrotheque

You might also be interested in the 10,000+ buildings from the old EA Building Exchange. I've tossed the 650 mb zip file on a temporary hosting site. The linky is only good for a couple more days: https://we.tl/6pWoTNTExH

In there you'll also find HTML copies of the pages I got from the Wayback Machine where I found all of them. Some pics are missing in the saved pages, but each building itself is intact.

Hey sims! Could someone help me? I put .exe file into Apps folder and I got this message. Did anyone faced the same issue?

@Will Hurtley

From the first glance, it seems to me that you might have copy-pasted the backup SC3000 files directly to your HD, without using installer.

If this is the case, (and you own a valid game copy *;)) the system might fail to recognize this as a valid SC3000 instance, despite all the files being there. Re-run the installer and fix your copy, then, try again.

I do not think so. I have just checked the tool on my system and it works. With that being said, we're down to only two options:

1) You have been duped and purchased an illegal copy of the game or intentionally downloaded one. In which case I, and pretty much anyone else, will not be willing to help. *sigh* Tell me it's not RLD...
2) There is something peculiar going on with your system, in which case I'm probably not qualified enough to help.

If the former is true - I strongly encourage you to purchase a legal, working SC3000U on GOG. As a matter of fact, they have a discount for that title right now - it's 75% off! *;)

Heh, not sure, since I never took that step yet. *:D

But I guess all you have to do is to go to the "SimCity 3000" category (it's here, in the "ST Exchange"), enter the relevant section and hit the "Upload new file".

Does anyone else have consistent crashes on modern PCs? It loads normally and works as intended, but it will crash after a few seconds of converting.

It's not something I've ever used, could it be similar to SC4 when you had to limit it to one core on your computer?
