Project Shinjidai (New Era) Japanese Cultural Landmarks and Buildings

 

Ever since Yuttho Started Building Tokyo 1.0 and 2.0 the request and his request for more traditional and specific content for Japan and by many users has been something high on my list of things to publish to the public. 

 

I hope this will inspire many new cities and designs as well as other mods that will use Cultural Inspiration as a methodology to give us greater control over our communities and create Neighbor Hoods that will give greater diversity in our cities.

NOTE: THIS MOD REQUIRES OFFLINE AND AKAR FOR MENU STRUCTURES

 

Icons and Descriptions by Yayie (Thanks for doing the artwork and Menu Positioning for me within Akar) (Thanks to the SUGC Team Members for testing and debugging the mod for me).

 

Special thanks to Oppie for the SCP for which no mod would ever be possible and the Developers for always being around to answer questions when we all need questions answered on quirky things we do not understand completely yet as we learn.

Without the community and their continued desire for mods I myself and other would not be working so hard to deploy So many of these new ideas buildings and Blue Prints that will further the modding efforts globally.

If it is not much to ask, can you guys make a farm or buildings like farm? I really looking forward for buildings like agriculture or farm.

Xoxide it's great mod, but I have some problems. I have SkyePack 3.1 and your mod in my SimCityData folder. When I play the game I see in Landmark menu this two buildings but in RCI menu I don't see any buildig from this mod

Awesome MOD!!!!

Finally NEW wonders and Asian Buildings!!! :D

Now all that's left is to have RCI Plopable  European city sets and International cities will finally be possible!!!

Again thanks for making this!

Hope to see more Japanese and maybe other asian nation buildings added in the future?

@all .. I'm not sure why anyone would downvote this mod... its almost on par 80% that of maxis.. it took 3 months.. I'm not very sure some people understand how complicated, difficult and time is requirement to Model and Create objects then work on an unproven pipeline to get content into the game without official SDK support.  To those whom score down at least let Modders know WHY you feel the score you give is appropriate so we can try to understand.

 

DOWN VOTING FOR THE SAKE OF DOWNVOTING is not really something anyone understands.  I have no problem with people not liking the $$ or $$$ and even the lack of influence since its not possible without core access to the game to add new rules.  But FOR OTHER MODERS and even Myself we would appreciate your feed back of why you give 2 Stars or 3 Stars vs 5.

 

 

 

@ALL whom like the mod I'm glad you are enjoying it.   The single hardest most time consuming thing in the SC 2013 Modding efforts is getting New assets into the game.  We as a group have only a hand full of people with semi working or mostly working pipelines that allow us to build and convert content.

 

LONG TERM Oppie and I wish to make this process easier so that we can add more content quicker, HOWEVER WE NEED MORE 3D Arists, 2D artists and people whom have a passion for Design and City Building to make it happen.

 

ALL of our modding efforts Group or Individual are for the WORLD to enjoy.  Maxis themselves has released content for nearly all Major Cultures this was one that had been requested by many.

 

Eventually we are going to try adding 2 and 3 building types to try and have them do what is called BOLT ON (The first stage of futurization) the second is FULL Futurization.  Solar panels are considered Bolt on to a degree but its not exactly the same thing.

 

We are trying to figure out a way to have Landmark Influence controls but those again require DIRECT Access to the games RULES engine to create NEW behaviors.

 

Trying to copy some old ones had only the effect of making things upgrade to something other than desired.  We were lucky to figure out a way to NOT TO ALLOW FUTURIZATION at all.  This now can be used to correct the problem with Oppies trainstation Futurization reverting back to the original building.

 

Every time we create a new mod or Blue Print for something we have not done before we the code we publish is a tool for all modders to understand how things are done and behave.

 

These Doors open up new possibilities and help use move forwards as a group and community to keep raising that bar a little higher and go deeper into the game in a direction that nearly everyone in the community wishes to see.

 

This all started with a tree and a bench .. Those single small objects lead to more complicated object and so on.  THIS IS a process and also a lot of Trial and Error.

 

Without Oppie's blueprints on various Standalone REPLACMENT objects and a combination of What he had done I would not have been able to present this.  Baby steps are very much required for everyone and offered when we release to help again make additional content and keep the quality as high as possible.

 

ANYTHING can be done if given time and patience.  


THANK YOU EVERYONE WHOM is enjoying this new User DLC .. we hope many more will come and even more distinct cultures might be possible while I and others plan now to go back and try to add even more to this one.

 

This is still only the beginning of a very infant modding effort to what could be extremely large and detailed 1 year from now.   

 

--------------------------------------  RANT OFF -----------------------------------------------

 

Ok the mod itself is a taste of again fusion between Religious and Landmarks along with the vehicles you can now Build a new Themed City.  I hope others will join in the efforts.

 

THE MAXIS DLC's WE WILL NOT MAKE PLOPABLE due to copyright concerns.  Unless we can figure out a way to add them in a method that only allows you to use them if you own the DLC we are concerned about the legality of doing so.

 

However This blueprint could be used to add new assets for those other themes if someone wishes to get involved to do so.  I have other projects and IRL that requires more time each and every day.  Getting these blueprints and projects that I have worked on or am working on for a long time out and into your hands is my primary goal.

 

Yayie,  Julia, Captron, Nikola, Tobse, Danny, Craft and others are very interested in doing this same stuff with other Landmarks and Cultures.  REMEMBER THAT Danny has nearly finished a new Great Pyramids of Giza finished and Light House.  So many things are going on to add new content

 

The score is just a score.. I and others from Captron, Yayie, Danny, Tobse, Nikola and so many many many others Julia (need coffee) I can't even think of everyone right now are all adding directions to the game to take advantage of that 4k area you now have to play (3k + 1).  We all hope and wish you nothing but the best while you try some new directions of city building.

Just looking at the numbers... at the moment there are 27 ratings and a score of 4.7. If you do the maths (or math) it looks like 25 people left 5 stars and 2 people left 1 star. Ok, other combinations are possible but my point is it can only be a very small number of people who marked you down.

 

Some people are always going to mark things down, even without a good reason. Just ignore them. :)

And to be honest I don't understand why there is a 5 star rating system. A simple works/doesn't work or like/don't like system would be much better. Or maybe non-anonymous ratings would be a better option?

Adding new Landmarks is great...actually is amazing, really :) It´s bringing Simcity to surface, and with the recent Nikola RCI mod things are now going in the right direction. I know that the "MoreLandmarks" mod has been reviewed recently as most users were having troubles placing more than 3 Landmarks. I downloaded the "new" file but haven´t tested yet.

 

Considering the reviewd version is attached to the original post, maybe Capton could refresh it making it visible in most recent threads (or pasting the link into this thread).

By the way, does anyone know the whereabouts of ProcsKalone? He´s gone absent for a while now. Credits are to be given to him as well :)

@elemental there is always ONE.... I know.. but I wanted to convey that I'm fine with ratings.. I'm a reddit user.. I'm use to down votes..  The thing about anything star or voting .. if someone down votes.. they should be required to make a comment as to why its a vote of 1 when I'm pretty sure 99.9% of us know its not for a valid reason.

 

5 stars is better than a UP down of reddit but still its just a kind of personal thing.. IF I give someone 3 stars .. I tell them why.. not just give 1 star and run away.. its childish.

 

OTHER THAN THAT I know most of you are enjoying the new content.  Julia finished the ped path service roads for regional coast ways and the temple looks just SMASHING on the water line .. OMG talk about a place I would love to live :)

You will probably find some people will rate a perfect mod with one star simply because they don't like the game. People can be very strange. It's a pity because that sort of behavior can be discouraging to modders who potentially have a lot to contribute.

@elemental .. honestly .. I have people whom downvote my stuff on purpose .. hahah.. I'm kind of use to it.. but my ethical standpoint is .. if you vote you should post why to help the modder or person whom is trying to bring creativity to the community a reason so they can improve

 

Modders are not perfect .. sometimes due to code or core reasons or some are simple oversights.. unless people ask and voice and communicate like in a real community you don't know

 

I don't care either way to be honest. I stay pretty neutral if I can.. .. I just want people to enjoy the mods, direction, improvements and more people to get involved.. to me its all about the users..

I'm unable to plop the rci buildings from this, do you happen to know why??

@samsonthegreat this mod does't use akar rci menu.

it's use Custom Content menu(building residential) and Landmark menu.

@city its all under custom that is correct

@Samson you must have akar to get the integrated menus and positions to load akar

 

go to www.crankygamers.com and look for the file released last Friday on the site.. its a 3.0 exe installer of the mods that will make your life easier

@adriels, are you also using the Extended Worker Data mod? if so, you need to change name so it gets loaded before, I'll post a working "load order" if that turns out to be the problem. Tomorrow, so in about 10 hours or so =) nn
