Hi Yayei.
Parklets is one of my favorite MOD.
These slim parks fill the gap of the cityscape wonderfully.

It is good to use it alone, but the combination with the normal park and landmark is fun.
Parklets will serve as a foil main building.
If it is possible, can you add these to the expansion module menu of the park?
Thereby, I become able to make a huge park with a great variety of combinations.

This is not an important item in fact.
I look forward to time when I become able to edit it intuitively simply by a menu.

Warm Regards.

Yes we are working on adding modules in all Parklets. Coming soon on further updates.

Ok just a heads up that 2.0 is finished.  Yayie is on a vacation .. we need to get the new artwork integrated into the new version before we post it.

2.0 will essentially allow parklets on parklets for plopping to allow you to create fence lines etc.

With this we should now be able to make some fake farm / agro areas artistically also.

Industrial is still being extracted from the game engine to make useful so 3.0 will most likely be that version with variants and updates in between

I'm getting a problem with the latest update.

I remove this one > 007-OFFLINE_DLC_OBJECTS_SUGC_TEAM1_20140716_1_0_Parklets.package

and put in this one > 009_OFFLINE_DLC_SUGC_TEAM1_20_0731_2_3_Parklets.package

and SimCity will no longer launch  (on a Mac).  I put the old one back and everything is fine. Any chance you can have a quick check? Thanks so much.

edit: (assuming that I was removing the right one.. it's becoming a bit hard to know what to remove when updating mods, so do let me know if I've made a mistake).

Parklets shouldn't have any problems unless you rename them yourself. It should work by default working in all of my mods. Just make sure it loaded right below Akar base file.

And I wonder what other mods you have in your directory.

Hmm, no I've never renamed mods. I noticed the number has changed in this mod (was 007 and is now 009), but not sure if that matters (ok - just tried renaming the new one to be 007 instead of 009 but that didn't stop it from hanging either).   The old file was a document and the new is a unix executable, but that shouldn't be a problem either.

As I mentioned... nothing has changed except deleting the previous version and adding the new one.  I can switch back and forth between the two versions, and SimCity will only not launch on the new one.

These photos are the mods I'm using at the moment which all currently works fine (this shows the old version of parklets fyi).  The Akar base file is loading before a bunch of them and changing between versions of parklets didn't seem to change the position order.

Sorry about this!  If you can see anything I'm doing wrong that would be awesome - meanwhile I'm going to try testing with each mod.

Already stated, Akar is not compatible with bridge and tunnel mod as well as addon udon. as akar should be on top of all things. Also add Offline-Only at UniDirectionalNetworks, you have all mods above Simcity

Sigh... I should have deleted those earlier when you said - sorry sorry - bad memory. OK ... doing it now (hunting down the packages involved is quite a task!).

Are you referring to the UniDirectionalNetworks.package that sits at the bottom all by itself ? (there is also one called OFFLINE-ONLY_UniDirectionalNetworks.package further along in those images).  Yes I wondered about that when it came (can't remember which version of UDoN it was in), but it's been working as far as I can tell (using UDoN all the time).  Updating UDoN now.... I thought I already had, but if that looks odd to you then I obviously haven't. Phew... managing mods isn't trivial!  Thanks for your help... I'll let you know how it works out.

p.s.  Oh.. and you mentioned the bridge and tunnel mod is outdated... is there something that does the same sort of thing, or is that something to look forward to in the future?

the bridge and tunnel mod does what it does but it has some flaws, we have a team (Hyuga) part of her project to make a final upgrade for them and 100% works with all regional streets. Stay tune for that.

p.s then delete the Unidirectional networks, and just use the Offline-Only_unidirectionalNetworks.

Oh cool... she's been doing some great stuff!

Erm so still getting a problem with these parklets. I deleted all my mods (and tested the clean install of SimCity which was fine), and then re-downloaded and added just Orion, Akar and UDoN - then the parklets. Everything worked ok until the new parklets was added.   Here you can see what mods are installed:

I tested version 1.0 of parklets with only these mods installed and it works just fine - just seems to be the new download that is a problem.  Any ideas?

remove RegionalRoad 1.6 and RegionalUDoN. Re-launch the game. Parklets shouldn't cause anything for the crash on start up.

***that was it***  YIPPEEE.... happy dance!!  Thankyou thank you thank you Yayie!!   :)  You were so patient. So perhaps those two (RegionalRoad 1.6 and RegionalUDoN) need to be removed from the UDoN current download page? ... or at least a warning that they won't work with parklets.  Interestingly, I can still find all the regional streets and UDoN menus/roads in the game, so they might be redundant anyway.  Wow... thank you SO much!  Big cheers from me in windy Wellington!  I really did appreciate your patience and help :)

edit: Spoke too soon!  I forgot I had the old parklets in.  Still not loading with the new one (and no regional streets/UDoN).  Oh Yayie... I'm so sorry!  Perhaps I'll just use the old one and forget about it.

Just tried your new upload - still the same for me on my Mac (I also updated my last comment when I wrote too soon)  .... so I think I'll just have to stick to the older version. So weird.... and I'm so sorry for messing you about so much.

The regionalRoad and Udon was meant for non akar users.

Glad it worked out for you.

so you can launch the game and cant resume the game? Because you use other mods that Akar was not meant to be compatible with before. The save game files wont recognized when something missing.

No it's a launching thing - if I have this new version of parklets (009) - then SimCity itself won't launch - just hangs on the little spinning ball.  If I take it out, or put the old one in, it launches just fine, and I can resume or start a new region (I'm testing it all in a brand new region - so no mods have been used).  Weird eh?

Version 2.3... sorry if this sounds rude (not my intention) but I don't like it at all. Parklets was one of my favourite mods but you've replaced natural grass textures with ugly paving/gravel textures. The old version was much better.

I really appreciate the work that modders do to improve the game but this update is a real disappointment for me. Sorry.

Is it possible for you to make two versions of some of these parklets? Green grass and also gravel/paving?

@elemental we have actually made no changes to the parklets themselves.  A lot has changed in the sense of priority and figuring out how to allow them to chain together.  There are physics involved.

We definitely can leave 1.0 up for those whom want it and 2.3 for those whom wish to use it.

We are trying to get functionality added to it as a complete package before we start adding the newer farm parklets and other agro parklets.

Parklets have taken on its own form and function which is now changing the way people cityscape as a result.

Having the same issue here with version 2.3 … (mac user) SC will not launch.

Well, although I'm sorry it's happening to you too, I'm also a bit relieved that it's not just me!  I've tried everything right from a fresh install with new versions of the needed mods, and still can't get it to launch.  Does the previous version (007) of parklets work for you?  (It does for me so I'm sticking to that for now). Perhaps it's a Mac thing. I've been lucky with mods so far.... I'm using 26 mods and they're all fine on Mac.

I use Mac, too, but it launches with Ver1.0, but does not launch with Ver2.3.

Hmm this seems to be a trend doesn't it - you're the 3rd person to have the problem on a Mac. I'm sticking to 1.0 for now, but I really hope they'll figure out what's wrong.  More people who speak up the better I hope!
