About This File

Hello Simptrop, been a long time since I uploaded anything here! I got a new BAT for you people that need a big red concrete slab on your cities! Its big, red, and available in two flavors, big and small, with their respective lots.

I won't write much about it, but I will post a link to the real thing in a wiki link.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faro_del_Comercio

It will be found in the Parks menu under the names

Stats:

Torre del Comercio Grande - Tower of the Trade Large - you should find it visualy as its a big red tower in the icon

3x1 Lot

Consumes 35 power

Its a park

Faro del Comercio Chico - Lighthouse of the Trade Small - This one is the smaller than its larger companion, its about 70 mt tall, and it should have its icon as well

2x1 Lot

Consumes 35 power

Its a park

Dependencies:

Requires Lllama patrol cars - included when ploping the Maxis Army base. :P

JUST KIDDING NO DEPENDENCIES :D

Anything else?

Bike paths as requested by XAVERIOS

https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/13100-meandering-bike-paths/

None, just please plop it in a logical and nice spot, flat land is RECOMMENDED to avoid making it look like it has a support beam or something...

That is all for now.

Credits to Glenni for making some of the props, like the small green electrical box and the door as well as a gas meter.

The model looks nice! :) However, the red texture is far too saturated IMO. It really jumps at you instead of blending into the surroundings.

Thanks, I am acctually waiting on opinions atm, I actually wanted to make the textures a bit more "worn" like the one in RL, but I don't know how. Ill have that BAT cave open soon. :)

The problem with desaturating red is that you may create a pink-ish texture, which as one might guess, causes a whole host of other problems. I'd give a "burnt" reddish/organe a try, something like this:

The model is great, the textures just a bit saturated, but you have some good advice posted above, and I cannot wait for more! I give you a 5/5 for the effort, and welcome back to the STEX! :D

Flavors then hei? So people can actually eat that?

You have a problem with texture, they are too bright, it may be good if that was at night, but it's too bright, you could simply search in google images "red bricks textures" or even search the actual monument and find a good picture and cut the texture part that you need of it, and that's it, also the one you made is too thin.

If you don't want a brick texture, simple get a darker and a paler red texture, the rendering will do the rest for you, it will make it brighter already.

I'd give 5/5 for the idea and creativity.

1/5 for textures, that would be 3 for the BAT, but I'm not going to rate that :P

No need, already have the darker red texture ready, also, the building is not made of brick, its painted, nor did I find many good pictures of the actual building that I could crop the texture of. :)

or you can cut the smooth part out of this one: http://us.123rf.com/400wm/400/400/olga_besnard/olga_besnard0803/olga_besnard080300011/2687843-an-abstract-terracotta-color-painted-wall-texture-background.jpg

it will look alot better.

& what I meant by those sweet words in my previous comments, is that this is an ugly BAT because of those ugly textures :)

You should've posted this at a BAT thread on ST or Simmania, since you're in SBT, before releasing this, I'm sure that this doesnt take much time to render.

It takes 3 minutes to render, and yes, I have a BAT thread already open, yet it seems abandoned atm :|

Can't help thinking they look better than in reality when placed both together like you did in the picture.

Simple and elegant, it looks awesome in downtowns, and the saturated red only makes it sexier. <3

A very good job, congratulations!
