Hello there, been some time after I have BATed anything. Times changed, and my creativity returned. :) I guess its time to go back to do things!

I post the work done on the Lighthouse of Trade.

I got the model about the same size as in RL, but the color is a bit, too saturated? Even if I added a bump layer in the color manager it didn't really show up, and it would have helped give it a more rough appearance. If anyone can help me, please respond, I won't bite this time. :)

Next work hopefully... I also have an unfinished power plant that was 70% finished, might as well finish that also. :)

Thanks for the release. New BATs are always welcome. To start off with fixing a few issues though, mostly regarding texture, I'd suggest reading the comments section for your latest BAT. There are a lot of good ideas there, including some of my own. ;)

Zoom 5 of the large one.

    BATsmaller_zpsf3dce199.jpg

Zoom 5 of the smaller and more scale-accurate version.

    RLpic_zps0be8f665.jpgRLpic2_zpsd8b05b28.jpg

Crappy RL photo, google's glare seems to break the images for some reason.

I wanted to see if it was possible to add a noise channel or something to make it more "rough", or if its fine as it is.

If available, I'd go by a Bing Maps photo taken from Bird's Eye perspective - that's much closer to the perspective in SimCity 4, and you won't have direct sun reflections.

Your texture so far looks like a solid colour, tbh. It will first need a healthy bit of desaturation, and I guess a subtle structure on it can't hurt, either, or the BAT will look like a huge slab of plastic sticking out of the ground.

I checked the Bing map's eye prespective, but it didn't have a good one, nor were the textures useable. I did, however, followed your advice and modified the current textures to add more "wear" to it.

    Now with more texture.

In terms of colour, I think we're getting there! :) On this photo, I saw that the surface seems to be painted conrete, and pretty rough. I also saw that the ladder is apparently black, not white. I think you'll have to photoshop some "roughness" into the texture. I guess your best bet would be to go hunting for rough conrete textures with a similar surface structure and use Photoshop / GIMP to add it to your existing texture, or to colour it the way you need.

For color, find a lighting neutral spot and just eyedropper that sucker. Find a nice texture that matches the material and colorize

    Oh darn!

Latest Render, got rid of some junk, shrank the base, worked some more on the texture, though its too red now me thinks.

Hello there with a late update to my BAT cave.

Here is the 6th installment of my BATs.

    BATRender4_zpsac04f019.jpg

I have been reviving this from Meister's database, which I have permission to finish by him.

I have questions such as what to do, I looked at Meister's planning and it was flawed for what he was doing...(No offfence Meister, but the planned layout does not fit :P)

    Basesetlayout.pngprebeta2.png\

The contours on both sides would make buses part almost near bumper to bumper, so I had to dig some space into the station. This setup works for a 2 way road, but the layout provided presented the problem of how to make a roundabout for buses. As you can see, there is only one entrance, I also wanted a covered station so that luggage was dry on a rainy day.. I have the problem of what to do whit the front of the bus station.

Another problem is that I want to add more junk to those empty areas as this will be a prop-less BAT. I plan to add everything to the BAT instead of adding props to it( saves dependencies, higher quality shadows, more lot realism... etc). So my question, is do you have any suggestions for fixing my red outlined problems on my render picture above. Especially the front part, idk if to make it into a building or leave it as it is, could work as standalone or W2W.

    Thanks,

    LC, VC

Hello there, with an update to the bus station.

    Batrender18problems_zps46031cbd.jpg
TDB1_zpsb0c66016.jpg As you can see here, I have lightning issues and I haven't found a way to tone them down, is there a problem with the lamps I am using?

    Any Extra remarks?

    Danke

Hello! After some time from my last BAT, I grabbed and opened a new can of inspiration and have made a new BAT.

    BAT4_zpscefe7b9f.jpg

    BAT5_zps78dc81ba.jpg

    Bat3_zpsf7ae63a0.jpg

    Building stats:

    12 stories

    ~50 meters

    ~27 x ~24

    Each "window" is 7x7 meters

    There is a helipad.

For information on the real life building follow the links:

    http://www.albuernearquitectos.com/torre-gia/

    https://www.google.com/maps/@25.6674,-100.342949,3a,75y,146h,97.1t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s66UMxYxq66sDGed1M0KAnw!2e0

I don't plan on using the bank's name, although I am open to suggestions as to what to put up there. I also want a suggestion as to how high the building should be, currently its 1:1 scale, but feels small for sc4 scale.

    G'day
