About This File

An old BAT that I'm re-releasing after I took it down a while back.

This is the Rapides Parish Courthouse, located in the small downtown Alexandria., Louisiana. It was completed in 1940 and is 7 stories tall. Even though it's a courthouse in real life, it functions as a commercial building in game.

Stats-

Lot size- 4x4

Type: CO$$

Jobs: 256

Dependencies: None!

Hope y'all enjoy it!

Yes, finally this is available again! :golly: This should be some much-needed competition for many Maxis buildings which grow on 4x4 medium density, and just perfect for small towns.

Hah, I remember this one. I helped a lot on the wall texture if I recall correctly... that damn wall texture :P

Happy to see you were able to put it back up!

If it's growable, then you can plop it, xoakzxz. All it takes is the Extra Cheats DLL, and you can plop any growable building wherever you want, as often as you want - only without cluttered landmark menus and additional files. :)

I was just thinking how we could use some more modest courthouses in the game; thank you Sgt!! :)

Ah Ellec. My hometown of 24 years. Looks very realistic. Great BAT. Got a lot of history there. Great work! I must point our that you missed the bars and the top floor of the jail behind the courthouse and the US/LA Flag in the front :P Minor details and I won't deduct anything for that.

Zodicus, I'm from the area as well. I was certain that it was actually a parking garage behind the building that it was connected to it by a pedestrian bridge?

Very nicely done. This is a great design, for a courthouse/commercial building. Thanks for sharing ;)

There is a parking garage in the back. Yes there is a ped bridge connecting the two building. On the 7th floor directly above the ped bridge are bars for the jailhouse on the back side of the building. The Jailhouse used to be in the old Bellsouth building across from the state building on Murray St (notice how the top floor windows are bricked over?) Anyways I grew up in Glenmora but spend most of my adult life in Ellec, lived off of Horseshoe Dr and 165, and in Pineville over behind the police station. Small world Eh? :)
