About This File

!!! PLEASE READ THE INCLUDED README. IT CONTAINS ESSENTIAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS !!!

NOTE: Fixes are available at the support thread. Check the support thread first before reporting bugs.

Description
The Light Replacement Mod (LRM) v4.0 Mega Pack consists of three parts: a prop pack, some plopable streetlights sets and a streetlight override mod.
The first part, the prop pack, is essential for this mod. It contains 59 new streetlight designs and over 200 new props you can use for lots.
The second part, the plopable streetlights sets, contains 31 sets of plopable streetlights for on the road sides and 20 sets for RHW medians. These can be used to enlighten your (Real) Highways. With lots of variation, there’s plenty of choice for everyone!
The third part, the streetlight override mod, contains overrides for all streetlights in-game, replacing the Maxis streetlights with custom designs. This will give your city an unique and characteristic look. There’s a large variety of designs available in various styles. Want to make your cities look more American, European or Commie? No problem! You can even compose your own style, isn’t that great?
All streetlights in this pack also have a more uniform light spreading, making your cities not only looking great from up close, but also from further away. So what are you waiting for? Install some new lights and give your city a whole new look at day and night!

Dependencies
There are no dependencies for this package, since it’s a dependency by itself.

Compatibility
The streetlight override part of this mod is incompatible with the Uniform Streetlight Mod or earlier versions of the Light Replacement Mod. This mod also replaces the following packs with a new, updated version:
- LRM Plopable RHW Median Light Pack 01
- LRM Plopable Streetlights 01 & 02
- LRM Prop Pack 01 & 02

This mod makes the street lighting look absolutely stunning. Well done. You can even create your own style? Awesome!

This is wonderful, I thought the last LRM set was as good as it could get, but this is better, even more refined!

fatschmo: You're obviously doing something wrong. I quote the beginning of the description "!!! PLEASE READ THE INCLUDED README. IT CONTAINS ESSENTIAL INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS !!!". Was that clear enough?

Great work Maarten, works like a charm! :)

I did read the readme but I still can't get it to work. Please make a pack with all of the street light types separated, or make it more easy next time.
It would help if you say what's exactly your problem. I can't help you if I don't know what's wrong.

I made the installation procedure as easy as I could make it without giving up functionality. The point is that this mod can't be made more easy: it's just too complex for that.

I added in the mods I wanted, but it still didn't work. I tried to suggest having the override sets in folders (UK in one, US_Man in another) and just tell the person to move it out of the folder. The problem is, is that I get boxes even know I read the instructions

Have you installed all model files? Perhaps you're missing some (except some that are clearly stated in the readme NOT to install at the same time)...

Everything seems to work, except the Dutch streetlights for the NWM. They become brown boxes.
When I select Dutch (Darknite) from the dropdown menu, it automatically sets all props and models, including the Dutch versions for the NWM lights (Dutch 'Classic'). All other lights work, except those. (The lighting itself works just fine, it's only the prop).
When I select another option, e.g. commie, those NWM lighting pole props show up correctly.
Also, when I select Dutch again, and manually change the props for NWM into something else, e.g. German Orange, it works fine.
But the strangest thing is: the NWM uses the Dutch 'classic' streetlights, and the normal roads use exactly the same prop. And the ones on roads work fine.
So for some reason this prop is incompatible with the NWM, but not with roads, so it's not a missing dat file or something.
I don't have any other streetlight mods installed, and the only modification for the NWM I have is the euro textures mod.

@Weicher: yep, I think you found a valid bug with this one. There must be something wrong with the exemplar files that I'd oversee. And with 400+ files within this mod, it's practically impossible to test them all and bugs like these can easily sneak in...

However can't do anything about this issue at the moment, as I stated before in the public threads: my PC is broken and it'll be repaired shortly (could be a matter of days or weeks).

@All: if you have problems or bug reports, please use the LRM (Light Replacement Mod) - Support, Development and Discussion-topic for this instead of the comment section here. It'll help me keeping all the bug reports centralized, so I can easily overview it.

The readme is not related to the installation program, it [the readme] says as if it was like the version 3 with no custom installation like this one.
Anyway, I read, installed, and everything works fine, except I cannot choose whitch colors I want and where I want them. If this is now how LRM is gonna word, then I will go back to version 3.

What do you mean with that?

The light colors are assigned to the lamp posts as they are in Real Life. Version 3 is no different from that, so from that point of view, there are no features taken away in this version.

Very nice work. Especially on the Installer and readme this time. For a mod with complicated installation like this, It's necessary. ;)

I m now using this function, and let me tell u that it works just perfectly. The installation is easy, just need to follow every instructions in the installer. It's clear (especially for me who wanted only New York style lights) and now, my city reachs the perfection.. Thanks again for this mod!
