General Info

Welcome all, I present you all today St. Basil's Cathedral. The original Maxis building was lacking in detail, so over the past while I have recreated the exact building from floor plans in 3ds Max 2011.

Nice cathedral, and I quite like the snow version. But somehow the parking lot doesn't look right to me, it just doesn't fit the rest of the landmark...

Wow, I'm impressed. That must have taken a lot of time to build. Excellent job, not many models should get a five * on this exchange, but this one surely does.

Yes the domes are very nice and very beautiful, but other areas on the structure seem to be lacking. The green roof's texture was a poor choice and really leaves the entire roof undefined and flat. The bricks are too large and the walls are lacking the fine details that they have IRL. You represented certain details very well, but left a good portion without the attention it deserves. A good attempt, but one that could have been much better with a little more effort.

Take a look at the walls at the bottom of this image and you will see what I mean. Also note how the roof looks: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e8/Saint_Basil_Moscow_crop.jpg

Damn, someone's been practicing... the model could have done with a little more detailing in some areas - I agree with Todd about the green roof, and the lot could have used a little more attention and creativity IMO, but as far as I'm concerned, none of that really matters.

All those little nit-picky things just fall into irrelevance when I look at the beautiful job you've done with everything else. It's just STUNNING, especially when compared to your earlier works. Easily one of the top 10 or so BAT's to hit the STEX this year. Well done.

Too good to pass up, despite a few small warts. Those domes...oh my those domes. Just brilliant!

Is that parking lot part of the lot? The building looks amazing, but that parking lot is terrible.
