About This File

April fools! Congratulations to the 1000 who fell for it. The prank is over. Do not download it now - it will blow up your cities.

(For anyone who wants a blowup lot, feel free to download.)

This is an anti-pollution plant designed to superseed all others. The device removes all the pollution (both air and water) from an area of about 10 tiles wide. It is also self-powered (hence being modded as a power plant) and should appear in the utilities menu.

Pollution is sucked down a spiral tube into a black hole, which is contained inside an energy field (no chance of your cities being sucked into it). Clean air and water are returned via hawking radiation. The black hole glows at night due to interations with dark energy and subatomic flow. Blah, blah, technobabble... etc.

And here are the stats

Plop cost: §2300

Monthly cost: §350

Bulldose cost: §1500

Air pollution removed: 255 over 10 tiles

Water pollution removed: 255 over 10 tiles

Lot size: 2x2

Water consumed: 0

Flammability 255: (so keep it well covered)

Max fire stage: 1

Dependencies: None!

Disclaimer: Do not use if you are going for eyecandy/realism, since it won't look very realistic in your cities.

@Brunswick123 , i did save it, but one second before it blew. I could not pause it in that time and remove them so my major city was baisically levelled as i put them near the main transport highway. Thus the city mostly abandoned, and the lack of interest has affected the surrounding towns. That is why i am annoyed, as i could not fix it because i didnt have time. @JLAAPRTM, i know a few lots that do that, cant remember who did them.

Plopped some for a test and it completely levelled an industrial sector. But if you want a REAL pollution fighter I'm glad I already have one that covers a 40 tile radius.

Okay, okay, April Fool's day is definitely over now. Well TECHNICALLY it does fight pollution (Did anyone read the ingame description?). I hope the majority of the people who downloaded this found it funny.

The idea with this prank was that people would only plop this in areas with pollution problems, hence less desirable parts of the city. Ideally it would have only destroyed people's dirty industrial areas. It would have been a much crueller prank if I'd disguised it as say, a park.

I also tried this prank a while ago at Simcity.com: https://community.simtropolis.com/sc4-maxis-files/exchange/lots/lotdetails.php?lotID=29418

Would be great if you really got this to work, building is really nice - any way not to make this an April fools joke?

To be effective, an April Fool's prank has to actually work. The thing does not do anything at all when installed ;) Try harder next year.

There is a slight problem. which is why it might not have worked for some people. It will not explode unless you are at zoom level 4 or closer, in which case the result is slight disappointment, rather than total destruction. All bomb lots have this problem, and to my knowledge it cannot be fixed.

Rather too big for similar Air Cleaning Structures.I use WAY less smaller ones and this one would just be too much of A eye sore sorry. 2/5
