RiverRock Shopping Mall

It's finally here! After over 2 solid months of continuous and intense work, I am proud to present the biggest project I've ever done to date: the RiverRock Shopping Centre.

This is a huge 12x24 USA indoor suburban mall, loosely based off of the Provo Towne Centre Mall in Provo, UT. Completely custom made from the ground up, this mall has it all! There are 3 department store anchors: "JC Penney, Dillard's, and Sears". Also included is a 4th theater anchor "Cinemark", and two upscale restaurants: "The Cheesecake Factory" and "The Bamboo Hut" The mall is a two level design with over 100 stores, a large central food court, indoor children's play area, and a comfortable upper level lounge to rest your feet. Please enjoy this special BAT.

Specs:

This mall consists of two 12x12 ploppable lots. Place them back to back for one seamless lot. (use your "End" key to rotate the lots in game.) Specs are split evenly between the two lots. Both lots will require transportation, power, and water. access.

Jobs: 816 (each lot) for a total of 1632 CS$$ (this is a high number, so make sure you have the demand.)

Placement Style: Ploppable. Found under the landmark menu.

Cost: $80,000 each half for a total of $160,000.

Bulldoze: $14,000 each half for a total of $28,000.

Night Lighted: Yes.

Dependencies: Peg's Scenic Drive Kit. The one and only dependency!

This lot uses a custom BSC parking lot texture set as seen in Peg's Scenic Drive Set. It's a very popular set and is used throughout the STEX. There is a good chance you already have an instance of the set in your plugins folder already. I recommend installing and loading the mall first, open up the game and see if the parking lots appear on the lots. If they don't, download Peg's set as listed above. I'd recommend using tis set anyways as it's a great and seamless way to expand the mall's parking lots to more realistic sizes.

Installation: Unzip the downloaded folder and place the "Mall" folder within your plugins directory. You can rename the folder to your liking or place it into any plugins subfolder if you wish to for organization.

Support: This project has been thoroughly tested. If you experience any serious problems, please private message me and let me know. The only known issue I have with it is a "LOD shadow" accross the parking lots caused by the way my hardware acceleration handles shadows. The LODS are custom fit and are very thinly placed across the parking lots to allow for car props amongst the modeled curbs.

If this phenomenon is effecting you, simply turn your shadow settings to "low" (my recommendation) or set your graphics acceleration to "software"

I'd love to here from your comments. Thank you and please vote as well.

Another thing to beware is a air and water pollution mall generates. Air at 264!!! more hen waste to energy plant, and water at 176!! and those are numbers for EACH piece. This mall is great piece of modeling, but a very pityfull one of moding. It is in desperate need of V2 to make it usable...

PS. I just want to clarify my position to avoid any misunderstanding. It is a wonderful creation! I strongly recommend it. Just alter some stats (like pollution ones) before you plop it into your city.

Simfox: I think some of us will get away with the modding flaws as there are a lot of cheats to get around it. LOL!! So most of us only care about the batting quality!! But I do understand about the garbage problem as once I plop in my city it immediately go nuts! This mall can only be used in ultra large size cities anyway, as 12x24 is too large for medium sized cities.

All right, JaWood! I've seen this a few times since working stages and I can tell you I'm not disappointed. There aren't enough great malls on the STEX, and this will be a boost to any suburb. Fantastic! 10/10

WOW!!! What more can I say it's awsome!!! One thing I did do though was adjust the stats, they were a little to high for garbage and pollution for my liking. Easy fix though. 10/10!!! Can' wait to see more!!!!!!!!!!!
