About This File
As the population grows and urban centers expand to use more and more power and water resources, the need for more efficient "green" buildings becomes more than evident. Large & conjested cities can no longer afford to build structures that focus only on useable space and esthetics. Modern buildings need to be efficient & intelligently designed to preserve the ever dwindling local resources.
All external glass surfaces of the SkyFarms are coated with titanium oxide which collects pollutants and prevents rain from beading. The rain slides down the glass, maximizing light and cleaning the pollutants. Troughs collect runoff for filtration and use in irrigation. This is but one of several processes incorporated into the SkyFarms that all but eliminate their dependence on the cities resources.
In addition to collecting and recycling its own water, the SkyFarms also produce pure drinking water from various evaporative processes that it can bottle and sell for profit. Up to 60 million gallons of pure drinking water can be produced by a single Sky Farm per year.
The Utopian SkyFarm series continues with the Type 3 SkyFarms.. which contains 7 growable RCI lots plus one ploppable landmark lot with C$$ jobs. Of the seven growables, there is 1 CS$$$, 1 CS$$, 3 IHT lots, 2 IR lots and 1 IM lot.. The lots vary in size from 3x3 to 5x4.
- All SkyFarm lots decrease local water pollution as part of their filtering process that treats local black water into gray water for irrigation. Accordingly, the SkyFarms use very little city water.
- All SkyFarms are almost fully self-powered from use of solar collectors and/or wind turbines, and an internal fuel-pellet processor fueled by recycled plant & vegetable matter.
* All lots are included as separate files so you can easily remove any that you do not wish to use.
** This lot requires the PEG-SF Sky Farm Resource file
There are no other dependencies.
