  1. CAMifying PEG's Sky Farms

Hey everybody, I had to type up this in a hurry, so go easy on me. I love CAM and PEG's Sky Farms, but - to my knowledge - there aren't any proper CAMpatible conversions of the latter. I've been familiarizing myself with PIMX and was thinking about trying to make the changes myself. However, before I do, I was wondering if anyone had any pointers. Also, is it true that PIMX doesn't quite work correctly with making higher CAM stages of I-R? And what about other industrials? Regards.

This Type 5 SkyFarm adds the VERTICAL to VERTICAL farming. We go up... not out... with the ultimate space saving design. Using the smaller base and modular design of the Type 4 SkyFarm, we "rack 'em and stack 'em" into this much taller vertical farm. And keeping with the space-saver concept, the ploppable version of thisSkyFarm is also a CDK3 (Coastal Development Kit) lot... designed to be plopped out over the water. It blends well with other CDK3 lots... but can be used by itself and does not requirethe PEG CDK3 to be installed. As with all SkyFarms, this version is almost fully self-contained and uses very little external water or power. Each instance of the lot, either ploppable or growable, reduces water pollution slightly as it filters local sewage (black) water into gray water for irrigation. The Type 5's extra capacity also results in a slight air pollution reduction as external air if filtered for internal use. Internal power is generated by wind turbines and steam turbines fueled by Fuel-Pellets created from the left-over flora after harvests and other local bio-garbage. Although definately agricultural in nature, SkyFarms can be located anywhere. As well as being modern & efficient replacements for conventional farms, their original mission, of course, is to be located directly within urban centers as industrial high-tech & manufacturing facilities... andas commercial service ventures. Accordingly, the RCI growbale versions of the Type 5 SkyFarm include 2 I-R lots, 1 I-HT lot, a CS$$ & a CS$$$ lot. All lots are included as seperate files so you can easily remove any you do not wish to use in your game. ** This lot requires the PEG-SF SkyFarm Resource file There are no other dependencies. All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported - however support from the wider community can be requested here.

This is the universal dependency File for the PEGPROD Sky Farm lots. There is only one dependency. This is it. This file must be installed in order for the SkyFarms to function properly. All warranties (of which there are none), either express or implied, are null and void if this file is not installed. * This is a universal dependency file used by all SkyFarm versions and lots. Each seperate version will contain its own, unique resource file that contains custom material unique only to that version. As mankind continues his quest for the ultimate Utopian society, one of the first steps will be to master the environment and to rebuild urban centers to include more efficient and environmentally friendly structures. SkyFarms are a step in the right direction. Being almost fully self-sufficient while producing the very sustenance that urban occupants require, they give far more back to the local community than they take. SkyFarms require very little external power or water. As a result, as they replace other structures in your cities, the demand for power and water will be reduced significantly. This can reduce the number of power plants and water pumps a city requires... and their associated costs. SkyFarms also recycle and filter local sewage for irrigation, so their presence in industrial areas can reduce local water pollution and the need for dedicated & expensive water treatment facilities. The Utopian SkyFarm series continues with the Type 4 SkyFarms.. which contains 6 growable RCI lots plus one ploppable landmark lot with IHT jobs. Of the seven growables, there are 3 IR lots including the MegaFarm... plus 1 IHT lot and 2 IM lots. The lots vary in size from 3x3 to 6x5. All SkyFarm lots decrease local water pollution as part of their filtering process that treats local black water into gray water for irrigation. Accordingly, the SkyFarms use very little city water. All SkyFarms are almost fully self-powered from use of solar collectors and/or wind turbines, and an internal fuel-pellet processor fueled by recycled plant & vegetable matter. * All lots are included as separate files so you can easily remove any that you do not wish to use. ** This lot requires the PEG-SF Sky Farm Resource file There are no other dependencies. All Pegasus files are now legacy content and are no longer officially supported - however support from the wider community can be requested here.

As the population grows and urban centers expand to use more and more power and water resources, the need for more efficient "green" buildings becomes more than evident. Large & conjested cities can no longer afford to build structures that focus only on useable space and esthetics. Modern buildings need to be efficient & intelligently designed to preserve the ever dwindling local resources. All external glass surfaces of the SkyFarms are coated with titanium oxide which collects pollutants and prevents rain from beading. The rain slides down the glass, maximizing light and cleaning the pollutants. Troughs collect runoff for filtration and use in irrigation. This is but one of several processes incorporated into the SkyFarms that all but eliminate their dependence on the cities resources. In addition to collecting and recycling its own water, the SkyFarms also produce pure drinking water from various evaporative processes that it can bottle and sell for profit. Up to 60 million gallons of pure drinking water can be produced by a single Sky Farm per year. The Utopian SkyFarm series continues with the Type 3 SkyFarms.. which contains 7 growable RCI lots plus one ploppable landmark lot with C$$ jobs. Of the seven growables, there is 1 CS$$$, 1 CS$$, 3 IHT lots, 2 IR lots and 1 IM lot.. The lots vary in size from 3x3 to 5x4. 6. PEG SF SKY FARM II

    Version 1.0

As mankind continues to deplete the planet's resources in an effort to provide for an ever-expanding population, better and more efficient means of agriculture are needed to keep pace. These Vertical Farms (Sky Farms) are the most recent concept in development and will soon be part of the sky line in many of the world's major cities. Highly efficient and self sustaining, a single SkyFarm can out produce up to 50 acres of traditional farmland. In the form of high-tech industrial and manufacturing facilities, SkyFarms can be placed nearer to consumer markets which will reduce the price of the product as well as providing local jobs and higher tax revenues for the city. As Commercial Service facilities, they can be located directly in urban commercial centers and eliminate transportation costs and related pollution altogether. And, of course, in traditional farming roles, 30-50 times more produce can be grown in the same amount of space. Year-round production eliminates limited growing seasons and more IR jobs are available to local residents. This second offering contains 4 growable RCI lots plus one ploppable landmark lot with IR jobs. Of the four growables, there is 1 CS$$$, 1 CS$$, 1 IHT, and 1 IR lot. The lots vary in size from 4x4 to 4x6. All SkyFarm lots decrease local water pollution as part of their filtering process that treats local black water into gray water for irrigation. Cori edit: Added linky to the dep.
  7. PEG SF SKY FARM I

    Version 1.0

    11,682 Downloads

In 50 years, the human population will increase to 8.3 billion, of which almost two-thirds will be living in cities. There is not enough farmland to feed all these people. In addition, the current agricultural system has led to a significant loss of biodiversity and disruption of ecosystems. Millions of hectares of forests, grasslands and wetlands have been sacrificed to be converted into farmland and the chemical deterrents used by farmers have contaminated the surrounding nature. New approaches to growing food must therefore be employed. The future of agriculture is now!! The "Vertical Farm", also known as sky farming or Sky Farms, is but one of many exciting new concepts being developed to help mankind meet our future needs while preserving the environment. Why build out... when you can build up? Using available cutting-edge technologies, Sky Farms are the model of efficiency and self-sustainability. Depending on the type of crop, one acre within a Sky Farm can produce the same amount of product that was produced on 30-50 acres of traditional farmland. By locating Sky Farms directly within the urban environment (ie... where the consumers live), additional product transportation costs & related pollution are eliminated. This initial release contains 4 growable RCI lots plus one ploppable landmark lot with IR jobs. Of the four growables, there is 1 CS$$$, 1 IHT, 1 IM and 1 IR lot. All four of the lots are 4x4 in size. All SkyFarm lots decrease local water pollution as part of their filtering process that treats local black water into gray water for irrigation.
