About This File

The Pennsylvania Railroad designed the powerful, streamlined GG-1 electric locomotive in 1934, and built 139 of them up through 1943 at their shops in Altoona, PA.

GG-1s later saw use by the Penn Central, Conrail, Amtrak, and New Jersey Transit before being retired due to maintenance issues in 1983.

This contains the GG1 in 4 passenger schemes. For the passenger version, unzip the "PASSENGER" file, and then choose a railroad. You can choose from Pennsylvania - Tuscan Red, Pennsylvania - Brunswick Green, Penn Central, or Amtrak.

There is also a Conrail freight version included.

Nice additions to your original Tuscan red. One question, How did you get your rails to curve gradually like they are in the photo? Come on, fess up :-} I especially like the green one. The GG1s were arguabaly the best electric locos to ever run on American Rails and now they can run in Sim Nation too! Thanks Arc.

Looks great and realistic, I'll give it a 10/10 ;) BTW: Same question as crazyfinger; where can you get those curved railroads?? Or did you make them by yourself??

Thanks for the info toxicpiano. I've downloaded the new version and you can find the curved-corners in the rail-pieces menu ;)

For my style the train is pretty ugly, but you still did a very good job in designing this. I'll give it a 10/10, of course not rating on personal taste.

Excelant! I am a railfanner and a huge Fan of the GG1! I have seen several of them in museums but never got the chance to see one running.

Is there a way to convert these passenger engines into freight engines? I would love to use them for that instead, particularly the PRR ones.
