About This File

Updated July 28, 2007! All my old files are being updated and re-released to fix a host of minor issues and mistakes I made when I was still learning. The lot and desc files are the same the original meaning that the new version will replace the old one in your cities without any brown boxes as long as you delete the previous version. A BSC Cleanitol file will be available on SC4Devotion's BSC exchange as soon as I have all the updated files released, which will make the job of deleting the old versions easy.

Kensington Place is based on an actual building in Calgary’s Kensington neighbourhood. The front of this bat is identical to the real building, but the sides and the back are out of my imagination. Kensington Place is mainly office space, but it does include some ground-floor retail on the street side. The stores in the building are a UPS Store, Peppino’s (an Italian deli), Sushi Club and Skribbles (a hair salon). Parking for office workers is provided in an underground garage, but customers have to park on the street or come by transit.

This is the sixth entry in my series of Kensington BATs and is part of my continuing effort to diversify our options for small and mid-sized commercial buildings. Kensington Place grows on a 5x4 lot on the Houston and Euro tile sets. It provides CO$$ and CO$$$ jobs. There are three dependencies BSC Spa Essentials BSC Textures Vol 02.dat and BSC MEGA Props - SG Vol 01.dat See the readme for more detailed stats and instructions.

Check out my bat thread here or on SC4devotion for detailed information about the updates or my future projects.

Plopped this in the game to take a look. Looks great! Excellent roof texture, by the way.

Excellent BAT Spa! You know what-this reminds me something of the RCMP HQ in Halifax. Next time you drive by there Spa have a look. 10/10

Thanks everyone. A few replies. Buckbeach the right side practically is w2w already. Only a think alley there. If you want to make it w2w it would take just a little nudge in the lot editor but I don't plan on updating this for such a minor tweak. Simdad you know I didn't think of it but you're right. The style is a little like the Halifax Police Headquaters. I have thought of batting it actually in a civic pack but that's a long ways off.

St.Louisdude. What's next? Well I have a 4x3 low-rise cs$$ building from Kensington that's about half done. I'll probably release it sometime in the next two weeks. Besides that there is one other mid-rise office from Kensington in the works and I'm thinking about a residental rowhouse set. Then again I walk down Spring Garden Road here in Halifax everyday so I might start batting buildings on it.

I've already told you how much I like this in your BAT thread, but I'll say it again -- great work! It's a unique building and very well modeled!
