About This File

Presenting NASA's Vehicle Assembly Building, where NASA maintained its rockets and now maintains its shuttle fleet. This building is one of the largest by volume in the world and was the tallest building in florida until 1974.

People kept asking for more space buildings to accompany the lonely launch pad. This model is not a perfect replica, but I tried my best to reconstruct it using my very novice skills. Because everyone loves the front of the building (with the flag)I didn't know what was on the back, so the back of the building is rather plain.

Yes, I know the textures are bland and boring but I still thinkthey best resemble the actual thing.

Anyways, here are some stats:
Monthly cost: $208
Bulldoze cots: $400
Plop Cost: $8,000
*NO dependencies*

Hope you enjoy!

Good model, but it looks like it's not textured at all and you might need to distort its height because the SC4 perspective view flattens an array of buildings. ;)

I think it needs to be bigger. I seem to remember the tour guide telling us that a bus could fit within the width of each stripe on the flag. I'd take up the offer of some textures; this could be a great model with some extra work.

textures need work. If it needs to fit in, its always good to put a gradient and some noise or marks on it. But since your trying to replicate it You did a good job :)

Your right it is a little bland looking, but it is a good design. Keep working on it. I might also add that in the past few years, the building has some replaced siding on it that does not match. I believe that this is because of the hurricane activity in the past few years. (8/10 for now anyways)

Great work and you might be hearing from the SCJU about this because of this --- http://s12.invisionfree.com/The_SCJU/index.php?showforum=44

It is SO about time someone made this! It's cool, but more realistic textures would be great. 7/10

Oh, and yes, bigger is better. My tour guide told us that Yankee Stadium could fit on the VAB's roof TWICE over. If it isn't a problem, I would suggest doubling or even tripling this baby's size. Remember also, that it is as tall as a 50-storey skyscraper, but since there are generally no windows on it, and no surrounding structures to compare it to, that isn't as apparent.
