About This File

This lot is one of the Aussie Retail Series lots that showcase retail brands that can be found across sururban and rural Australia. This is the Spotlight store; selling all manner of craft-related items, such as sewing patterns, miles of material and thousands of colours of wool. They have an offshoot called Spartys selling party stuff.

The buildings are in the style commonly used in Australia at the moment; consisting of steel frames and roof girders, a corrugated sheetmetal roof and precast concrete slab walls. Many of them will only paint the street-facing walls to save money. When you walk into the stores, you will see the roof and aircon ducts above you.

This package contains five lots; one plopable (4x3) and four combinations of growable (two 3x4 and two 4x4). The growables share a building family with the other lots in Series 2.

Looks like Deadwoods was playing with a Xerox machine. All the Aussie lots look the same.

Yeah, not to be rude, but couldn't you have released them in one pack? say, make them growablr, like PEGs trees, so they swtitch about randomly, so each tim you look at it, it appears a bit different? 8 lots that could be in one... seems a bit of a waste to me... I like em anyways ;-)

Obviously you two have not read all the data on these lots and do not uderstand how they actually rotate and work in the game. It is a great set and a good collection.

BB - that's how many of the new style shops are built in Oz at the moment. FosterK, I toyed with putting them in packs, and it would have saved me a ton of time packaging, but I wanted to give folks the choice.

OH, and they are growable as well as plopable. Say you download three of the series 2 lots, then these will grow randomly in the game. Plus for each set (i.e. four buildings) there are four different lots.

I live near the biggest Spotlight in the world which is in Bayswater North and near a Spartys which is in Bayswater. All up, a great series. This equals 80/80 from me.

Hey great buildings, concrete slab walls look very realistic. Don't mean to sound stupid but it is coming up as a big wrapped up box in my game???????? what the?????

Having actually seen a Spotlight store that looks almost exactly like this in somewhere near Rockdale (a Sydney suburb) I can vouch for the realism of these. Andronicus: they're cheap to build, that's what.

It's quite interesting to see these warehouse-style stores getting phased out now, a lot of them are moving into shopping centres and the original building gets demolished and replaced with something... nicer.
