  1. Guayama, Puerto Rico

    Version 1.0.1

    629 Downloads

Greetings to my fellow SimCity 4 fans! Today I bring you the southeastern coast of Puerto Rico, centered around the municipality of Guayama. Also present in this area are Santa Isabel, Coamo, Aibonito, Patillas, Arroyo, Maunabo and Cayey. This area features a drier climate and fertile soils in the lowlands, making use of a network of irrigation canals fed from the rainy mountains of the Cayey Ridge. Guayama itself is one of the older settlements of the area, being founded by Spanish colonists in 1736 and replacing the indigenous Taíno chiefdom of of the same name, which had been there for several centuries prior. Its economy started with sugarcane plantations and hatos, a system of feral cattle ranching present throughout the Island. In more recent times the area features a more diversified agricultural output, including biotechnology development crops and various tropical crops, energy production, featuring both fossil fuel and renewable sources, fishing, and recreation in various natural preserves, the summer camp complex known as the Albergue Olímpico, and the culinary corridor of Guavate. Credit for the locator map to user David Benbennick on Wikipedia! The download includes three sets of files: The first, named "Guayama PR custom", consists of an area of 61.44 X 28.67 km, which corresponds to 60 X 28 small city districts. This one is configured to optimize the main settlements of the area, along with keeping cays intact in the coastal areas. This one is a SC4M file for easy rendering with SC4 Mapper or SC4 Terraformer. The second, named "Guayama PR simple", consists of a 20 X 7 grid of large city districts for easy use. This one is also an SC4M file. The third, named "Guayama PR--grayscale", consists of the grayscale image and both config options. This one requires a dependency, either beskhu3epnm's High Elevation Import Mods w Erosion Control Parameters or moganite's Erosion Control Mod Set, namely the 1000m plug-in with the desired erosion level. Links for each provided below (use only one): https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/16790-high-elevation-import-mods-w-erosion-control-parameters/ https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/16056-erosion-control-mod-set/ LICENSING: This map is provided as free content to SimCity 4 players, who are free to modify it for their use and for production of derivative maps for publication. 2. Culebra, Puerto Rico

    Version 1.0.0

    505 Downloads

Greetings to my fellow SimCity 4 fans! Today I bring you the eastermost island of the Puerto Rican archipelago, Culebra! The picturesque island-municipality hosts a small population of 1,818 inhabitants in the 2010 census. Nowadays an extremely coveted secret tropical island paradise, Culebra's amazing landscapes and seascapes had a somber past as military maneuver grounds for the United States Navy until 1975. Remnants of this violent time remain in abandoned war tanks dotting the beach landscapes and the occasional planned detonation of buried and sunk munitions. Credit to Wikipedia user NordNordWest for the locator map! The download includes three sets of files: The first, named "Culebra PR--custom config", consists of an area of 20.48 X 12.29 km, which corresponds to 20 X 12 small city districts. This one is configured to optimize the natural landscapes and seascapes around the island as they are enjoyed nowadays. This one is a SC4M file for easy rendering with SC4 Mapper or SC4 Terraformer. The second, named "Culebra PR--simple config", consists of a 5 X 3 grid of large city districts for easy use. This one is also an SC4M file. The third, named "Culebra PR--grayscale", consists of the grayscale image and both config options. This one requires a dependency, either beskhu3epnm's High Elevation Import Mods w Erosion Control parameters or moganite's Erosion Control Mod Set, namely the 250m plug-in with the desired erosion level. 3. Vieques, Puerto Rico

    Version 1.0.0

    321 Downloads

Greetings to my fellow SimCity 4 fans! Today I bring you la Isla Nena, Bieké, or more formally known as Vieques! The largest of the outlying islands of Puerto Rico, Vieques is a tropical island paradise bathed by the gentle Caribbean Sea waves. The elongated island features rolling hills, numerous beaches and inlets, while its eastern and western ends feature the most rugged topography. To the east is Punta del Este, where jagged cliffs interrupt the dreamy beaches, while the west features Monte Pirata, a towering hill rising up to 301 meters above sea level. Like its sibling island, Culebra, Vieques has a somber past as military practice grounds for the United States Navy, having suffered the same fate until 2003 after extremely massive protests forced an end to the carnage of ordnance on the eastern and western thirds of the island. These areas have since been turned into natural preserves, and for the most part are closed to the public due to the extreme dangers posed by the armament pollution in the landscape. Credit goes to Wikipedia user NordNordWest for the locator map! The download includes two sets of files: The first, named "Vieques PR--custom config", consists of an area of 38.91 X 16.38 km, which corresponds to 38 X 16 small city districts. This one is configured to optimize the natural landscapes and seascapes around the island as they are enjoyed nowadays. This one is a SC4M file for easy rendering with SC4 Mapper or SC4 Terraformer. The second, named "Vieques PR--simple config", consists of an hexagonal grid with alternating rows of large city districts and two medium city districts offshore towards the edges of the map area. This one is also a SC4M file for easy rendering with SC4 Mapper or SC4 Terraformer. This time there is no grayscale map because I used a special trick to get more detail on the landscape while remaining constrained by the 250m grayscale import parameter. I rendered the island 30m below sea level and raised it out of the depths. This also means that Monte Pirata is some 20something meters too short compared to the real thing! LICENSING: This map is provided as free content to SimCity 4 players, who are free to modify it for their use and for production of derivative maps for publication. Should the author be absent from Simtropolis.com for more than a year, site staff or individual users may re-host the file, as long as due credit is given to him, user Lucario Boricua.
  4. San Juan, Puerto Rico

    Version 1.0

    905 Downloads

Greetings to my fellow SimCity 4 fans! Today I bring you the city of San Juan of Puerto Rico, capital of the Island of Enchantment, Puerto Rico, a Commonwealth territory of the United States of America located in the northeast side of the Caribbean! This city stands out as one of the oldest European settlements in the Americas, having been founded definitively by the year 1521 after the failed attempt of Caparra. The city was originally named Puerto Rico, and the main island was named Saint John the Baptist. Over time these names switched places in common parlance to what we know today. During its 500-year-long history, San Juan has acted as a formidable military base under the Spanish Empire and the United States of America. Its historic center, Old San Juan, stands proud with a vast system of walls, castles and fortresses defending its bay, with the San Felipe del Morro castle, Fort San Cristóbal and the Palace of Santa Catalina (residence of the governors of Puerto Rico since 1540) as its crowning jewels. During its active service, this system defended against raids from the Taíno and Carib indigenous groups, pirates and privateers from colonial rivals of Spain in the Caribbean, with notable names such as Sir Francis Drake (English), Sir George Clifford (English), Captain Balduino (Dutch) Enrico (also known as Boudewijn Hendricksz / Bowdoin Henrick, Dutch) and Sir Ralph Albercrombie (British). With the advent of the Spanish-American War and the sunset of the Spanish Empire, the Americans conquered the city and continued using it for military purposes, all the way to the end of the Cold War. During all of this time the city always maintained its function as the seat of government of Puerto Rico. Nowadays, San Juan experiences much more peaceful days, having become a major center of commerce, industry, education, finance, transportation and tourism in the Caribbean. With its municipal population of 395,326 inhabitants, it commands a conurbated metropolitan area of 1.25 million inhabitants and a combined statistical area of 2,732,036 inhabitants, encompassing essentially the northeast half of Puerto Rico. Among its other notable landmarks are its Convention District, Plaza las Américas (largest shopping mall of the Caribbean), the University of Puerto Rico, the José Miguel Agrelot arena (also known as "el Choliseo"), the Center of Beautiful Arts of Santurce, the San José Cathedral and the nightlife and tourism corridor encompassing the Miramar, Condado and Ocean Park neighborhoods. The download includes two maps: * The first, named "San Juan PR" includes only the core conurbation, with an area of 45.056km X 24.576km, equivalent to 11 X 6 large city districts but optimized for the notable landmarks and municipal centers of the metro area. This one is a high quality 8-bit grayscale-sourced map. * The second, named "San Juan Metro" includes most of the outer suburbs, with an area of 61.440km X 34.816km, equivalent to 15 X 8.5 large city districts, which are also optimized for placement of municpal centers and notable landmarks. This is a lower quality 8-big grayscale-sourced map due to its inclusion of the western part of the Luquillo Ridge, the mountainous area at which El Yunque National Rainforest is located. Players can render the map using either SC4 Terraformer, SC4 Mapper (with .SC4M file) or using the game commands with the grayscale and config files provided. Those who render the region from the grayscale map must use beskhu3epnm's High Elevation Import Mods w Erosion Control parameters, namely the 500m (core) or 1000m (full metro) plugin with the desired erosion level (I'd recommend either the no erosion or the quarter erosion (QE) variant). Link provided below: https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/16790-high-elevation-import-mods-w-erosion-control-parameters/ Location map adapted from base map created by user NordNordWest in Wikipedia. Original here. LICENSING: This map is provided as free content to SimCity 4 players, who are free to modify it for their use and for production of derivative maps for publication. 5. Aguadilla, Puerto Rico

    Version 1.0

    377 Downloads

Welcome to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico! Hello to all fellow mayors of Simtropolis, today I'm presenting an improved map hailing from western Puerto Rico, the city of Aguadilla, together with its neighbors. Northwestern Puerto Rico was the first area of Puerto Rico reached by Christopher Columbus' expeditions, in November 19, 1493. The supposed landing's location is suspected to have occurred near the mouth of the Culebrinas River, just south of Aguadilla. Some 500-something years later, tourists and hi-tech industries make their landing in the region, which boasts one of the longest airport runways at the Rafael Hernández International Airport, as well as numerous beaches where surfers brave the waves and hunchback whales in the first four months of the year. Notable industrial firms with presence in the region include Honeywell (military, power and precision equipments), Lufthansa Technik (aerospace), Abbot (medical devices) and Monsanto (agricultural biotechnology). Aguadilla proper hosts a population of approximately 60,000 inhabitants, together with another 125,000 from the neighbors visible in this map. This map is an accurate scale rendition of the main city of northwest Puerto Rico, together with its immediate surroundings (municipalities of Aguada, Añasco, Moca and Rincón). The terrain has a varied mixture of plains, rolling hills, limestone karst topography and a very smooth shoreline for your picturesque beaches. For those who want to make a rendition inspired in the real thing, I've provided a map which shows the urban centers of the municipalities (capital letters) and notable neighborhoods and villages (italics). Credit to NASA for creating the Surface Raster Topographic Map, from where the terrain data was extracted. Size: 28.67km X 28.67km (28 X 28 small tiles, 7 X 7 large tiles) Type: real world, accurate scale Recommended terrain mods: GrassLands or HBS Californian Terrain Mod Recommended flora mods: HBS Yucatan Tropical Tree Mod, or HBS Californian Mediterranean Tree Mod Recommended coastal mods: Rivit's Coastal Mod 2009 (brown sand beach or white sand beach, Green foreshore, Ultramarine offshore) Those who render the region from the grayscale map must use beskhu3epnm's High Elevation Import Mods w Erosion Control Parameters, namely the 500m plugin with the desired erosion level (I'd recommend either the no erosion or the quarter erosion (QE) variant). For this map I have provided the SC4Mapper file, the grayscale and a config optimized for notable settlements and facilities. Enjoy!

Presenting the city of Humacao! Hello to all fellow mayors of Simtropolis, I am delighted to present the picturesque mixture of tropical beach paradise and hi-tech industry hub that is Humacao. This map is an accurate scale rendition of the main city of southeast Puerto Rico, together with its immediate surroundings (municipalities of Yabucoa, Naguabo and Las Piedras). Players can make a lot with this pleasant landscape, ranging from recreating the old days with massive plantations on the floodplains, to today's premiere luxury tourism living in communities like Palmas del Mar or the grungy oil industry that used to reign king at the Yabucoa harbor, just south of the city.. Credit to NASA for creating the ASTER Global Digital Elevation Map (terrain) and to user NordNordWest (locator map in Wikipedia) Size: 22.53km X 22.53km (22 X 22 small tiles, 5.5 X 5.5 large tiles) Type: real world, accurate scale Recommended terrain mods: GrassLands or HBS Californian Terrain Mod Recommended flora mods: HBS Yucatan Tropical Tree Mod, or HBS Californian Mediterranean Tree Mod Recommended coastal mods: Rivit's Coastal Mod 2009 (brown sand beach or white sand beach, Green foreshore, Ultramarine offshore) Those who render the region from the grayscale map must use beskhu3epnm's High Elevation Import Mods w Erosion Control Parameters, namely the 250m plugin with the desired erosion level (I'd recommend either the quarter erosion (QE) variant). At last, a dream come true! Hello to all fellow mayors of Simtropolis, I am delighted to present the very first publication-ready map of my home island, Puerto Rico. This map is an accurate scale rendition of western Puerto Rico, roughly coinciding with the tourism region of Porta del Sol, which encompasses the municipalities of Aguada, Aguadilla, Añasco, Cabo Rojo, Guánica, Hormigueros, Isabela, Lajas, Las Marías, Maricao, Mayagüez, Moca, Quebradillas, Sabana Grande, San Germán and San Sebastián. This region is characterized by its natural beauty, ranging from striking coastal cliffs in the north to peaceful, sunny beaches in the south, lush forested mountains teeming with wildlife and tropical crops and the most beautiful sunsets of the Caribbean! Surfers, foodies and fans of the great outdoors are sure to have a blast here! Credit to user El Johnson in Wikipedia for providing the location map and to NASA for creating the ASTER Global Digital Elevation Map! Size: 49.152km X 69.632km (48 X 68 small tiles, 12 X 17 large tiles) Type: real world, accurate scale Recommended terrain mods: LBT Yucatan Terrain Mod (north and center), LBT Bajio terrain mod with no snow (southern third) Recommended flora mods: HBS Yucatan Tropical Tree Mod (north and center), HBS Chihuahan Desert Flora Mod or HBS Californian Mediterranean Tree Mod (southern third) For this map I have provided the SC4Mapper file, the grayscale and two configs: one uses the default grid of large city tiles from SimCity 4 Mapper and the other is a custom config I created to match the urban centers of the municipalities with large city tiles. Use the one you prefer best!

Puerto Rico is a Caribbean island and unincorporated U.S. territory with a landscape of mountains, waterfalls and the El Yunque tropical rainforest. In San Juan, the capital and largest city, the Isla Verde area is known for its hotel strip, beach bars and casinos. Its Old San Juan neighborhood features colorful Spanish colonial buildings and El Morro and La Fortaleza, massive, centuries-old fortresses. I am back lads, i've been playing a bit of tekkit recently, and it's distracting me tried uploading earlier, but simtropolis was down :((((((( Cori edit: Note: This file is in .SC4M format and requires SC4 Mapper 2013 to install. (You will need a separate login on the LEX to get the program.)
