  1. Mods Not Showing Up

Sorry, I misread the the enable button. I thought it was to enable workshop mods. I had the issue last update, but I just unsubscribed and resubscribed from the steam workshop, not in game. and they all started working.
  2. Commuting in this game is flaky at best. I've never had great success except live multiplayer. Your best bet is shoppers from great works. You typically want sea to sea, train to train, airship to airship connections, etc for best results. The game was designed city supporting each other. Fr example you could make a college city, a industry city, a commercial city and you were suppose to able to supply each city's need from another city. This never happened. It was too complicated for the game AI to track and a broken glassbox game engine. It will work with limited success, but it is easier to supply your own needs. For example, if you want shoppers to come to your city you need to create a demand. The game doesn't have a shopper demand like gambling does, so you only get a few coming in. It is easier to supply your own shoppers from residence. The game has balanced itself out somewhat for this to occur. As for city connections, most regions have mini-regions in them. You can only trade with cities within your own mini-region. These cities should show up on your main UI menu to the far right. The region will supply any good you need. This way you can have a single player game with success. Again, the region is poorly designed and doesn't have a great supply chain as there aren't many demand mechanisms in the game. A simple build it and they'll come doesn't always work.
  3. Mods Not Showing Up

Did you hit enable workshop mods in the mods menu?
  4. I think its reversed, no? airports = mid wealth and airship/cruise ferry terminal = mid&high. please correct me if i am wrong. Typically it is the way I said. Airports for high wealth and medium for rail. But I've seen them on both before. Air ship is considered an airport. I don't use great works anymore as they are buggy and space center doesn't even work on some regions, and then it may work on certain cities in certain region. Like I said, they'll come any way they can. they will most definitely take the freeway. In the end it doesn't really matter. The tourists will always come from the region. So if you have a great work, they will still arrive from the region as well. Make sure you create the great works first, then create your tourist city. Otherwise you may get flooded from the high demand you'll have created if you build tourism first. You'll likely need to build a full medium density RCI city first that can create 40k/hour so you can get 10-million bank to pay for importing all the needs you'll have for the great works. Then bulldoze you city appropriately for tourism. Make sure you have enough shoreline for ferries if you want high tourism. One end of the map would be good. Some rivers have no or little shore line for ferries. So you won't be able to plop ferries on river tiles. Watch your tourism attractions or they'll draw too much. Build slowly on the tourism side as they arrive very slowly and will suddenly overwhelm you and choke your city. Here's a video link on making quick money, good road layouts, and good game advice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EutH11qepYw&list=PL0bbriyMfw8RZBRzOkhVjqUauY7EOizzU
  5. First, tourists are different from shoppers. Shoppers live in your town and shop at commerce. Tourists live in the region and come when they have a reason. Usually landmarks casino signs and other casino add-ons. They will shop for souvenirs at commerce as well. Commuters are bugged. The regional interaction just doesn't work right. I usually avoid it, but have gotten it to somewhat work with live multiplayer interaction. Usually I avoid the great works tourism. They usually just flood your city. You can control your tourism draw with landmarks and casinos. The game likes to focus on one class level at a time for tourists. Most go for the high wealth tourists as they bring the most money. But you can focus on low wealth and make less many, but you will make profit. The stadiums are a good early tourist draw, but require constant maintenance of running events every day. Also, make sure to isolate your tourist area at first until you get the hang of it. This way you can control your hotels to hold tourists. Your commerce will convert to a hotel when near a landmark or maybe casino, I forget which. You'll need two or three depending. this way tourists don't leave town. Airports bring high wealth, cruise ships bring medium-low wealth. They all can sometimes bring other classes as well. But tourists come by any and all means available to them.
  6. I had too many problems with dumps, it seems when you empty them they seem to stop collecting garbage. It then causes complaints and garbage doesn't get picked up. Not sure if it's been fixed, but I run incinerators only without issues. Same issue with cemeteries and crematoriums. Just wait until they trash is caught up and then turn them off one at a time then bulldoze them, or leave them off for emergencies when you can turn them back on.
  7. Looks like the Crown has been passed....

You may want to start a new thread for better help. I find it annoying that you cant cross more than one road at a time. Maybe you are trying to cross more than one road at a time. offramps can be too close to bypass very easily. You also need to be one level higher than you are crossing. Try the no pillar mod as pillars will get in your way as well. to get a five tiered road you'll need a lot of room, not to mention uneven terrain can make it longer. Curved roads are harder to cross or make elevated. same with roads that aren't perpendicular. weird angles are a pain. Good luck, and link your new thread.
  8. Problems with placing buildings

Did you read the instructions on installing the mod? iirc, you need to install the mod first, then start the game, make a new city, exit the city as soon as it appears, then restart the game for it to work properly. It is a very quirky mod and has tons of issues. Good luck\-=Mark=-
  9. Or just manage your traffic. Mods aren't needed and just mask the issue. Then you'll need another mod to fix death waves as hearses won't be able to collect the dead. Then commerce will go abandoned because goods can't get delivered on time. Remember, this is an agent based city simulator, which means cims need to get from point A to point B in a timely manner or things go to hell.
  10. Sounds like you have heavy traffic. Look at your traffic overlay map and see where the red areas are located and try to make extra roads for them to travel. Pics are worth a thousand words.
  11. Spec question

At least it's a quad core processor. But the graphics are integrated. While they're better than intel's graphics, they will limit you mid-late game. 8GB RAM is minimum for your setup. Windows uses 1.5gb, the game 3.5gb and graphics 2gb, leaves you about 1gb for mods. so you have just enough where you're at now. As for 15-tile, I assume they are lightly used. my 15-tile city currently is 350k pop and tons of traffic. you may not be able to handle that much. You should be able to handle 150k pop if you have good traffic and balanced city. You may need to add a graphics card or even 16GB RAM to achieve higher results. I'd wait until you start hitting limits first.
  12. Skylines Laging Nonstop iMac

You need to realize an iMac is just a laptop stuffed inside a monitor. It is very low powered, not to mention you look like you may have a retina version which is worse for gaming. Lower your screen resolution in-game to somewhere around 1280x720 and you should be able to play a tile or two without issue. Just make sure your in-game graphics settings are all on their lowest settings for best results. Good luck -=Mark=-
  13. HP Omen

First off, don't place your laptop on your lap. You are likely blocking the vents preventing it from being cooled down. Try to keep it on a hard flat surface at all times. Better yet, buy a laptop cooling pad that has fans. This will assist in cooling and let you play it on your lap (you may need to turn the fan off of course). Remember, laptops are designed to be run on batteries, so they are very low powered compared to desktop computers and aren't designed for gaming. As to the battery, I'm surprised it lasted that long as this game pushes that laptop to the limit. You should keep the laptop plugged in when gaming. This goes for all laptops.
  14. Can't play, lagging like crazy (Mac)

I hope you are seeking advice on building thjis PC. This game has a huge demand on your CPU and you'll need a powerful processor to run this game, plus mods and assets. Try lowering you screen resolution and make sure all graphic settings are at their lowest. Same as above, lower screen resolution and all graphics setting as low as they'll go. Remember, laptops are designed to run on batteries, so this make them much less powerful than desktop computers. Laptops are not meant to be gaming machines. This game stresses your computer differently than most games in that it is a simulation and uses a lot of your CPU. To reduce overheating make sure you don't place the laptop on your lap. You can block vents which case overheating. Make sure you are playing on a hard flat surface. Better yet, get a laptop pad with fans so it can assist in cooling.
  15. Probably fixed the cims AI some more causing more traffic which slows down the game. I know that's what happened to me the last patch and this one. To speed it up, lower graphics settings to their lowest and lower your screen resolution setting lower. Once traffic settles down, you will get your FPS back. You'll just need to figure out where your traffic issues are. I just laid a long 5-tile highway along my East side to relive traffic. Now it has cleared up a bit and back to about normal FPS speed again.
  16. No, the competition is between July 16 and 22 and need to be uploaded between tjose dates to qualify. But good luck, there are too many established asset creators with thousands of followers. Only the elite 1% will win as they have too many followers that will subscribe automatically no matter if it's good or bad. kind of fixed if you ask me. We just get to watch I guess. Gula could probably win first, second, and third place by himself. He has good assets and over ten thousand followers. But I guess it's good for CO to keep them modders working on the game for them.
  17. Asus or HP Omen?

You need to list the Asus. You listed the HP twice. The HP looks okay, but the Asus computers usually have overclock features. Usually at least a force all turbo mode. On laptops, turbo is for light load, while full load slow down to the core stock slow speed. If you like mods and assets in your game to make it look pretty, then you'll likely need 16GB RAM. 8GB is cutting it close.
  18. Making The Switch

This game play much differently than sc2013. With lots of abandoned building, this is usually a sign of traffic, but this game nerfs traffic by despawning it when it gets too heavy and clogging roads. But this has a side effect of you thinking roads are fine because roads aren't clogged up. You'll need to make more highways in this game. Cims need quick access to everything and using roads aren't fast enough in most cases. I find at least two highways per 2km x 2km tile works best. There is a no despawn mod to prevent despawning traffic. It is best on a new city, as with an existing city, it will cripple it quickly. If this is a relatively small city you can enable the mod, see where the major choke points are, then remove mod and modify the cities choke points, then go back and re-enable the mod and see how it's flowing. Most likely it will keep shifting the choking points for a while until you have a free lowing city. Overall, this game is still the same as sc2013 in that it is an agent based city simulator and you need to get your agents (cims) from point A to point B in a timely manner. Since you're more used to SC2013 and used to the unforgiving traffic, the no depawn may be the mod for you. I know it helped me tremendously. EDIT: Forgot about sustaining your city. In this game, it loves parks. You may think you will lose money by placing them, but this game uses them to level you your buildings (all of them including industry) and then your buildings make more money. Same with police, health, fire services. they cost a lot, but they pay for themselves from leveling up all of the buildings. Taxes, too. The higher the levels the higher you can raise taxes. This is opposite of sc2013 as well.
  19. I don't know how anotjer game could interfere but I hear of some mods not working right if you load a a new game from an existing game you are playing. Maybe the other games triggered this behavior somehow. Try exiting the game and steam and restarting the game. Maybe even reboot the computer to clear out all of memory to remove any conflicts that remain in memory.
  20. an error occurred

Looks like you have a bad mod. Remove them all and test. If all is good then add them back one at a time until error reappears and remove the offending mod. Hopefully you can find a replacement mod that works.
  21. Precinct Explodes...

remove all mods temporarily and see if it fixes things. If it does, add them one at a time until it reappears. Or check each mods thread to see if others have had similar issues.
  22. What Are Your System Specs?

Upgrading RAM is up to you. I think it would probably eliminate lag early game. but mid to late game your lag may return. If you like assets and mods installed you will definitely need 8GB, but that will cause lag unless you use the most basic ones for need rather than want. If you plan on creating 9-tile cities then 8GB may be worth it as you may not get there without it. Memory prices have been low lately, so it's up to you on if it's worth it. If you like city builders and plan on playing it a lot, then maybe. otherwise you may want to play some more to decide if you will play this game enough to warrant investing more money in your laptop. But you are definitely low on RAM as windows wants around 1.5GB and the game wants up tp 3.5GB so you can see you are over 4GB immediately. You may also want to check to make sure you are using your 840M graphics. You also have an Intel integrated graphics in yoiur laptop and you will get bad lag if it's being used. You need to make sure the 840M is being used before doing anything. It should be in the nVIDIA control panel somewhere. Sorry, I don't have a laptop so I am unfamiliar where it would be located.
  23. What Are Your System Specs?

Nope, but 8GB will help a bit. You seem to be on a laptop which means you have a low-powered system so it can run on batteries, so your performance will suffer. Not to mention your i7 processor is only a dual core which is minimum requirements, along with the 840m probably just minimum as well. Nice setup, you should do well with this game.
  24. Precinct Explodes...

I have no clue, I know high density avenue tunnels have issues being bulldozed. Do you have any mods installed?
  25. Mods compatibility with mac OSX

In theory they should all work. If not, post in the mods thread for more info.
