  1. Hello Ladies and gentlemen, like the title told you i m a newcomer in the game and i kinda get addicted to it:).But more than the game ,i've been stunned by the quality of some of the mods and custom building made by the community. So one thing to another i started reading guide on how such assets were made,my curiosity kept growing until last night when i downloaded Blender and tried to create my first 3D object took me 4 hours to learn about a few basics commands and finally i managed to build a ladder Far from being discouraged, but well i guess you know the feeling , i was kinda overwhelmed by the astronomic content my brain had to absorb just to get a very simple object out of this program and learn a fewkeybind. So here is my question/offer,does any of you has time to spare to teach a complete newbie like me the basics of assets creation and give me simple exercices focused on assets creation for CS (blender can do much more ,but well my goal isnt to get a job at pixar), in return i'm more than willing to help you back with grunt work for yours projects . Basiccaly i'm looking for a master >apprentice relationship were both parties have something to gain from it,so let me know if you re interested .In the mean time i m going to keep practicing by myself ,and try to improve my skills, but well i definitivly have the feelings that i'd save a lot of time and efforts doing it that way. I hope i do not sound too cocky, landing here and asking for a special treatment . I'm perfectly aware some or most of you learned by themselves and may not see that approach in a favorable way,but hey you do not know unless you try. That's pretty much it, so let me know if spending a few hours teaching a newbie is something you re interested in . Cheers have fun, and see you soon .
  2. As promised, here is the topic where i'm gonna keep you updated on my blender progress Well tonight session was 3 hours + and consisted into set up a very simple scene made of very simple assets (chairs, table ).My main concern were the keybinds ,as they are quite numerous... I didn't faltered and jumped on my mouse and keyboard and started working (following the tutorial i found in my native language).Things were progressing steadily as shown below I did manage to create a chair and a table without too much difficulty ,until i realized i made the table legs too short ...Tried to fix it by myself,by reextruding them well that didnt work as planned ... and found myself with a double layered table legs . Things started to get a bit too messy, and i was too lazy to look on the internet for an immediate fix.So ctrl N back to square one... This time i started with a new table made sure the legs had the proper lenght ,saved the object in my library and started a new session to create my chair. Those more familiar with Blender has probably realized my mistake, i rapidly found myself with 2 different scenes, struggled for more than 25 mn to import one to another ...until i found that if you want to import an object from a scene to another u have to press alt f1 select the scene and open the subfolder then object ,only then you can import pretty much anything you want from a scene to another Next was creating the plane that was going to mimick the office in which both the chairs and the table were going to stage for my awesome final pics for this thread. Obviously things didn't go as expected, as i made some room on my screen to create the plan i needed. I moved both the chair and the table into 2 separate layers. After getting done with all i had to do meaning create the plan, put the chair and the table in the proper place and rotation and reunite all the 3 of them in the same layer and rendered the scene. It was then that Blender launched a sneak attack, throwing at me a no lamp or camera present in current scene da fuk . Don't really know what happened, probably put them into another layer, tried to fix it myself by replugging a camera and a lamp on dat scene failed miserably .As shown below Well decided to not left my pride in the blender dragon lair ,i plugged a few more bucks inside the machine and started again from square one. Finally i manage to get the result i was hoping for, took me 2 more hours than planned . My thought on this session: - if you start with blender and if you encounter a weird result DO NOT TRY to fix it by yourself ,check the internet for your answers or things will get gradually more messy resulting in a very hurtful ctrl n -Blender is one of the most counterintuitive program i ve ever met since divinity sin 2,you have to think every action you make before even touching you keyboard or your mouse or you ll end up with weird results . That is concluding my very first report i hope you ll enjoy it,because i definitively enjoyed the session even if sometimes i builded a fairly decent amount of frustration. Have a good ,it s time for me to enjoy some CS and see you soon for Lance vs the dragon blender episode 2
  3. Another must download item from you ,really good and realistic look +1
  4. Agusingnavy seems to display quite a few interesting intersections but not only http://steamcommunity.com/id/agusingnavy/myworkshopfiles/?appid=255710 WOW made some necrology there, is this post not updated anymore ?
  5. As always, you never fail to produce gorgeous trees.I don't even think anymore i just subscribe to them as soon as they come out :). Any plan for a stone pine ? as they have quite a large canopy and should provide a huge visual impact for anyone trying to recreate a mediterranean ambiance .
  6. o/ Thank you guys for the welcome and the warm comments @Darf (honnestly for blender i just went with the flow, just read so many good comments about it on the workshop)And yeah that's exactly what i was planning, already come across a a small concrete villa in my neighborhood and was planning to go on maps or go there take a few pics .Definitely caught my eyes when i was looking for my 1st model. That would nicely fit for a 1x1 R slot . @Simulanten what you are displaying as 1 st model look really awesome man ,honestly i can't right now picture myself getting that kind of result .But thank you for the advice i ll do that as it 's seems like a good way to do steady progress and for keeping a high motivation so yeah on my to diy list. @Avanya @Cool_Z I'm really honored from both your post (didn't really expect than both of the most prolific creators respond to my post that did really make my day) Avanya: Thank you for the 2 links they have been already bookmarked .i really just get started by imitation that s pretty much one step, one fail, one restart blender at a time ^^. So yeah rocks seems the only things i could do know ...(not even sure about that ) But hey decision have been taken ,so that as a short term project that seems something reachable at least for 3D model.I'm gonna cling to it, at least i want to try Cool_Z Thank you for your help offer ,as you have been one of those who inspired me in my decision to try myself to 3D modeling /bow. Right now i'm really just get started, so for both Avanya and you ,i don't really want to disturb you in your work . But as adviced by Simulanten i'm gonna start a thread ASAP.And both of you are more welcome to comment my attempts . See you around guys.
