Modelled after the real thing in Hamburg, here comes a residential building with a hard-to-forget Del Monte mural on the firewall. In real life, this building stands quite alone on a large parking field, close to Hamburg’s main railway station on Norderstrasse 46. This building was erected in the beginning of the 20th century. It features dark brick facades and (faked) steep roof to resemble traditional German architecture in the nationalistic strives of those times. I guess that it had several fellow buildings before the war, when this tract’s proximity to the railway and harbour made it to a goal for allied bombings. This building comes both as growable and ploppable versions. The growable building is a stage 5, medium wealth residential building that provide homes for 121 sims. It grows in medium density zones only. The ploppable version is found in the landmarks menu. It is free to plop but brings no revenue except the looks. The building has nightlights, it is nothing fancy but it sure lits up at night. There are no dependencies. Enjoy! -

As requested by many, here comes my old "Lexington Homes" in a new updated pack with four colour variation to create more variety in the row-homes areas of your cities. Those houses are inagurally modelled after two buildings opposite the MoMa on 53rd Street in New York, the style is typical for the richer one-family houses that are built on the narrow lots on Manhattans Upper East and Upper West. The buildings are R$$ and grow on 1 x 1 or 1 x 2 lots. In the real world, those buildings are of course R$$$, but they make up lots of trouble for people in the game by "cancer-spreading" around the town followed by mass-abandonment when they build as $$$. The names on the different houses are Lexington, Madison, Roosevelt and Garcia Homes. The Lexongton and Madison are named after the avenues in the neighbourhood where you can see a lot of those houses. Roosevelt is named after Roosevelt Island (and of course president Roosevelt who named the Island). The Garcia might be less obvious in its New York connection, it is named after New Yorks Joel Garcia, one of the best BAT architects back in the SC3000 days. So this building is my honour to a nice fellow in the SimCity community and also a honour to one of the survivors of the 9/11 attack. Install tips: If you already have some old Lexington Homes version (either R$$ or R$$$) installed, you can keep it along with the new set. If you delete the old one, all your old Lexingtons will be gone. If you install the new set straight off while keeping the old lots, of course the Lexingtons will grow more often than the others because they are doubled in the plugins folder. To avoid this, simply delete the Lexingtons from the new set. -

This is a "wall to wall" european office building inspired by buildings in Berlin. The neo-baroque style this building is modeled in was one of the popular building styles a hundred years ago. The building is named after one of the prominent architects in Berlin back then, Alfred Messel. This lot is a growable CO -

Another set of buildings in my wall-to-wall line! This time a neat but exclusive commercial building. This set gives You tree different colour versions of this building. In real life, those buildings usually contain a mix of offices, apartments and shops. But in the game You need to chose one purpose, so in this case I chose to grow them as commercial Office. The growable building is a stage 5 building that provide 46 high wealth commercial office jobs. Lot size is 1 x 1. They grow in medium and high density zones. The ploppable versions are found in the landmarks menu, free to plop but without any inpact on your city except the looks. There are no dependencies! Unzip and enjoy!! -

With this building, inspired by this old picture from Bülowstrasse in Berlin, You can run Your elevated rain through dense w2w areas with minimal space loss! The real building was destroyed in World War 2, sad on such a unique building I say! In the game, this building is found in the landmarks menu. It is pure eyecandy, there are no effects on the game except for the looks. I made it for elevated train, but You can just as well use it for NAM elevated ground rail. If You are interested in tech stuff, this lot uses an overhanging prop to make the tunnel and the bridge, and ordinary rails built through the building. This means that You can connect this piece directly to transit enabled lots such as stations. There are no dependencies! Enjoy! EDIT: The address stated is actually wrong. This building´s address was at Dennewitzstraße, as kindly pointed out by Psycho Mantis. Bülowstrasse is quite near but it actually turns its direction just a block before this location. -
WOW! That is all I can say. This is just the city of my dreams. Thanks for making such a good use of the buildings I have designed. For future updates I would really like to see some close-ups of street life in the city and I also think that a tramway would be an improvement to the city. Keep up the good works and thanks again!

OK folks, this is the story: You may know me as a batter, and in order to check that the bats are working properly You need to thest them (hence the name of the city). So I started this town to have a sandbox city to try my new buildings/ lots out. As time went by, Test Town was growing bigger and bigger, and to use some of the bridges stuff I have made it also got an intriquate rail system. So it was really fun playing Test Town for a while. Anyways, today I decided to put the Test Town development to an end. It has some very nice areas but also some buggy (not shown here) sides of random (stupid) planning descisions, un-demolishable bug-modded structures and lots that just cancer around how much You ever try to demolish them out. So I will start another city with a more clever name So to celebrate the history of Test Town and all the striving sims who built it, here comes some random shots in the first and also last update of the Test Town CJ: This is the Danelius Building right where it was plopped at the first time! The other 45 degree corner is made by Ferox. Up the street some Prepo houses. A train running trough my Bülowstrasse and October bridge. I am working on a few more of those train bats, but the lodding is hard, at least if You do not want to end up with a zillion polygon LOD. (If You do not know what a LOD is, it is something inside the game that eats memory). This roundabout turned out really nice... But... Hmm If You plop a landmark, sims are supposed to be attracted to it and develop nice buildings around it. Well, judge for Yourselves A shot of an High Tech and Commercial Office area, including some Simgoober ind and some yet un-released office buildings of mine. And here a not-so fancy industrial area with dirty and manufacturing industry. Backýard mania... I think that if You can not see the ground in SC, then it is a real city But if I was a sim Iwould have prefered living here in those small cliffhanger houses at the lake. Downtown shot with Vesters trams at NAM tram-in-avenue pieces. I really like those! Night train... More trams and 45 degree buildings... The Kolmiotalo and other buildings by by Prepo here. Night shot with one of those street corner bars. I think it is in those shots that Sim City really gets to life... ...or in this one. In this kind of views I think Sim City shows its most realistic side, because this is what 99% of the cities look like on Google Earth... Just ordinary houses where ordinary people live ordinary lives. I can really sit and wonder what the life of sims is like in those game evening hours. What are they doing there in their homes? What do they think about? Are they happy? Does god exist etc etc? Well I wont bother You more with those hard questions anymore, I just hope You liked the pictures. Greetings from Test Town! Yours, Odd

Olympian, You need Photoshop or a similar picture editing program. In Photoshop, select all (ctrl + a) and then use the edit -> transform -> skew command to change the perspective to Your likings. Al_4ev, not the best pic in the world.... but I think this looks like the standard Maxis graveyard fence. With Lot Editor, You can take the Maxis small park and add the fences. If You have not made any lots with the Lot Editor, then this should be a very good first thing to try to make. For a beginner, it is less than an hour's work.

I just love the run down areas. I saw "American Gangster" on DVD yesterday and this city looks just like in that movie!

Odd from Sweden replied to phillippbo's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
deathtopumpkins, welcome to the batters community. I can not really follow what You do... But just try to make it my way and see if it works: Open a scene with at least one object Click Material Editor button Clck New, select standard, click OK Open the maps rolluot at the bottom of the material editor Click the "none" button at Diffuse Colour Double-click bitmap Select a bitmap from Your computer You now see your material in the sphere in the material editor Drag and drop the sphere onto any object in the scene click the checkered blue/white box in the material editor to display the bitmap in the actual scene. That should be all about it! -
