Ronyx: (I don't use simtropolis anymore, go to cslmodding.info)
mntoes replied to Ronyx69's topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
I have been hoping for this video (Nice video.) Only problem is "import the asset and run the script". Sorry but I'm getting older and need walking through this part .lol I have been wanting to try this for ages but am more than lost at this point, the old brain cells are not as good as they used to be. Importing the asset - no problem. I guess I use mod tools to run the script? -

Any Blender Experts in here? UV map issue
mntoes replied to Shannanigan O'Crabby's topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
Ok. Took a bit of finding but I have the solution. ( I should have spotted it straight away from your pictures but I guess it was a case of "can't see the wood for the trees" and I have not done this myself) I got the same results until I found this. I imported your FBX file a second time and realized that part of the model is below Ground level. I moved the model to place it correctly on the ground plane. (everything below the chequered grid is below ground) The house is now sitting at ground level. Export and Viola! Ps forgive me if I am teaching you how to "suck eggs" so to speak.- 10 Replies

Any Blender Experts in here? UV map issue
mntoes replied to Shannanigan O'Crabby's topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
Delete only the effected areas from your model. Replace these with new parts and uv map them onto your original uvw map. Re-export this as an FBX file and see if that helps. I have had this happen sometimes and this worked for me. I don't think it has anything to do with the update as it happened to me before then.- 10 Replies

Texture Issue on Model
mntoes replied to hemeac's topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
Not sure why the geometry gets messed up sometimes. Try this. Delete the orange face. Select edges A & B and hit "F" to fill with another triangle. The replaced geometry should be ok now provided you have the normals all facing the same way. -
PJC Cities XXL to Cities: Skylines asset conversions

I must admit my first thought was "those gardens are a bit long", so I would go with the chop. As for the other question I'm afraid it's above me as I have not considered it till you raised the point. -
PJC Cities XXL to Cities: Skylines asset conversions

I used a lot of props in one of my housing packs. To make it easier for people to choose what to subscribe to I listed the requirements I order of importance in the description. Eg "Brown picket fence" is going to have a more visual effect on the lot if not used than "Alarm box" . -

Quick question. First I have heard of "sharp textures enabled" Can you use that on props? ( eg a neon sign) and if so how? I made one recently and it looks very out of focus unless you get up real close. Keen fan of all your work BTW.

Thanks. I have been looking at some hotels to model but not looked at many shops yet. Having said that I have one art deco shop/restaurant in the pipe line but I'm keeping it secret yet while I learn the art of alpha mapping. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and generally don't show things until nearly ready.
