I have just had to reinstall my pluggin, which was not fun some 7.5Gb the only new pluggin that I had to find was SimFoxProps_8Chestnuts. Now when I go into the God Mod to place trees I have the lovely brown box, If I strip down the plugging folder to nothing and place the tree in god mod, then replace the plugging folder. everything is normal Everything work gang buster before I have use SimFoxProps_8Chestnuts. if I remove this pluggin I have brown box everywhere Any one know what I am missing

Thanks Nonny Moose I found the problem in a few minutes it was this mod (Maxis tree replacement mod) which replace every tree in the game I replace all the computer in the house as they get levery old Every computer is backup off site daily now

Yes the SC4Deluxe work out a problem, just be sure to save the game on regular base, after a few hours and windows want to do something it will shut the game. The reason I know this is because I am run windows 8 in 64 bit

Do not use the app to run the game Run the game of the icon on the desktop Most of the 32 bit software require to be launch from a icon As you have run the compatibility mode over the software you may of made a few more problem for yourself

Yes simcity work find if you run the game of a desktop icon, if you run the game of the app the windows 8 make for simcity after a few hours it will crash to desktop Vista and windows were both upgrades of windows xp, but were down grades of windows 8 as the both had small part of windows 8, microsoft do sometimes to test their new os. It's more of an emulation issue, Microsoft just does not include the 16WOW32 environment in 64-Bit installations. I read somewhere that it does work if the necessary files are copied from XP, but never tried it myself. If all else fails, I used to use a VMware Virtual Machine with Windows 98 SE installed on it to play my old Windows games on. I spoke to the the programer this afternoon, the first item that I need is the contact details of the person or persons you wrote them. I need permission to to make change and re-post them, or it may be quicker to completely re-right these two program in C and CC++ to run more stable in all version of windows. Only if that was so easy just running these programs in Xp compatibility mode, windows pro 8 running everything off apps and the upgrade in the graphic is second to none. Windows 8 pro is also the dead nail for the virtual mode that was great for running a virtual Xp windows os. At this stage I have not be able to have these two programs ( SC4 Mapper or SC4 Terraformer) to run, so I have hand them over to one of my computer programs to take them down to code and work out if they can be brought up to run on w8. The user file go in a directory named my Documents . This directory does not have a drive letter, the directory is outside the C: Drive structure. Thank guys I work this problem out, by make a directory inside the the C: Drive structure Moving on to the next windows 8 problem Trying to have these two programs run as the should SC4 Mapper or SC4 Terraformer

I will put way sim city software was written for windows xp, when Documents and Setting where every was list under C: Drive. Windows 8 does not have Documents and Setting listed on C: Drive. the use is listed in another area of the file windows. Window 8 is the OS and config everything to work the it want them to work, in short the is no file called Documents and Setting listed on C:drive

What virtual memory does runs away with part of your hard drive and makes a page file, which all version of windows use first this can be anything that windows thinks that it going to need when windows installs from 1gb- 3.5 gb. All windows os only install around 3% of the hard drive as it virtual memory; Let look at how windows os thinks : 1 Hard drive is 500gb x 3% = 1.5gb 2 Hard drive is 250gb x 3% = 0.75gb 3 Hard drive is 120gb x 3% = 0.36gb 4 Hard drive is 2tb x 3% = 6.0gb Are you still with or you how have no idea what the hell I am talking about, windows reader the virtual memory before it read any ram ; so let at what is run under the surface of windows. G"Day Great site I have bening play sim city longer than I care to work. I had nice state going, great looking coast line which was working gang buster. I was looking adding a farming & logging industrail in land. As one does they use the internet to find anything they need these days. Found everything I to make these industrail work some there and most over on peg site. I have spend a cople of weeks trying to work out which file turn my coat line & river system into sunk land
