Blue Island City: Overview
sirgeoj2 commented on ByeByeBayou's City Journal Entry in Wade City Archipelago
Absolutely stunning city. Love how it's broken up into different districts and across little islands. -
This CJ is simply ASTOUNDING! The level of realism of your work here is beyond anything I have seen here before. A well deserved 5 stars for you.

I would like to request a very simple lot, well, I guess it's not simple enough for me to make A simple 1x1 overhanging tile that I can use to make the underside of my monorails through the city paved. If you could please make a few different versions using the pink and white and whatever else suits your fancy of these tiles: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=11315 It would be greatly appreciated. There just does not seem to be enough overhanging lots out there. And the ones that are out there are not simple enough to just use over and over again undera long line of monorail or el rail. Thanks!! A good example of what I want is the overhanging water tile for the BSC Canals. I just want something paved, instead of water.
-
I know the answer to this question is probably no....but.....is it possible to make a single tile lot that something can be placed over...for example, placing a cement tile underneath a monorail without having to use overhanging lots. I dont know if I was dreaming or what, but I seem to remember a while ago placing a ped mall tile underneat a rail line, it was only one ped mall tile that would do that tho, that was a few years back and now none of them do that.

I am pleased to bring you page 2! This is a very nice CJ! It is very refreshing and straightforward. Nice pics and well laid out cities!

Very nice! Its cool to see in the region view how it started from a few cities at the headwaters and has grown and grown.

I know its been quite a few months since this topic has been posted to, (I havn't been here in a while but I always try and make time to come to simtropolis at least once in a while. This is a big issue cause once you have alot of plugins it takes you like 10 minutes to scroll down to the lower plugins on the list (well, im exaggerating). But I was thinking, is it possible to instead of having that arrow, making a scroll bar that you can use to 'slide' instead of waiting for that arrow to scroll you down? I know, its prob. a stupid question, its only something that can be programmed into the game itself, but there are alot of talented ppl out there that have found ways around things, so I just thought I would throw that idea in.

I would like to see a modular university. A HUGE modular university, with all the different types of buildings you would expect from a major university. And I would like to see it more modern than the old Maxis one also. Thanks!
-
Anyone working on a modular University pack? preferably a more modern architectural style than the Maxis one.
-
I have a request for all of you very talented BATers. I would really like to have a modular university. Something that is a little more modern than the in-game one and more extensive. It would be ideal to have seperate buildings for different studies such as science, art, literature, ect. admin buildings, dormatories, sports centers, theaters, the works. They could be different architecture, like the science lab might be a little more futuristic looking than the literature building but all have elements that fit them together as one common architectural unit. Anyway, good luck and I really hope one of you or many of you are able to create this!

I have a confusing little problem. For some reason only when I am on the second from furthest zoom out I get brown boxes for a certain tree. I believe the tree is part of a prop pack...not sure which one cause it's in many lots. For example it's in the pedestrian sidewalks lots, the 2 International Finance Center building lot, the retaining walls lots...I havn't modified any of these lots or done any unusual things to any of these files. It is just something I have noticed in that zoom level only recently. Anyone else have this problem or know of any reason why this is occuring? It is not like the prop is missing cause there are no brown boxes on any other zoom level. Weird huh? Thankyou to anyone that might be able to help.

Brown boxes on a certain zoom level
sirgeoj2 replied to sirgeoj2's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Thankyou Tungston, Sounds like you might be right about that....sounds like I will have to do some digging and try and find that particular prop and re-download it or something...too bad it is in so many BAT's. Either that or I will just have to live with it since I dont really use that zoom level too often. -
Hello Everyone, I'm in a 20-30 age category, I live in San Diego, CA. I'm a designer for a company that restores and colorizes classic movies and we also have done some special effects work. One of the movies our company has worked on is the Aviator. I also have had the good fortune to travel to India 2 times now to train people over there on our software. (we have a production facility there). The trip to India consists of a flight from LA to Singapore than to New Delhi. The reason I mention this is because I get to spend a day in Singapore and everytime I'm there I think about SimCity! It looks just like a city you would make in Sim City. It is also a very exciting place because it is really booming and they are constantly building up and up. All those Eastern countries are sure benefiting from our western corporations! Anyway, I have really enjoyed this site since joining a little over a year ago. It is full of wonderful, creative and imaginitive people. In fact, I don't think the game Sim City would even be the same anymore if this site didn't exist.

I'm sure other people have requested this but I would like to see more beautiful high and medium density NON-LANDMARK residential buildings. There are only a handful of functional residential buildings out there. I don't really have a specific building or building style in mind...I would just like to see more funcional residential buildings. Keep up the amazing work all you brilliant BAT'ers out there!!

https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//melanosia-banner.gif align=baseline> Hello everyone and Welcome to my second City Journal, Melanosia! My first CJ never really got off the ground, I was only able to make one post and I wasn't able to continue on with it. I have had plenty of time for this one however and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoy putting it together! UPDATE 1 SirGeoJ's Travel Journal July 24 I have been planning my trip to Melanosia for quite some time now and the day is finally here! I am writing this on the plane as we make our approach to Contella Intl. Airport. It is about three in the morning local time....I can't sleep cause I am still on my time which is around one in the afternoon. I am going to be staying at the Contella Doubletree Airport Hotel overnight and then taking a connecting flight in the morning to the capitol city of Marinaldo. As I planned my trip to Melanosia I used the Geopedia to find more information about the region and it's people and places to see and things to do. This is a screenshot of a page of information I have used to find out more about about Melanosia https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//geopedia%20melan.geog..jpg align=baseline> This is a picture I took from the plane looking out toward the airport as we make a pass on our approach, I forgot to take the flash off. https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Contellaplanenightcopy.jpg align=baseline> The landing was nice and smooth, landing and taking off are my favorite parts of flying. I was amazed at how clean and efficient the airport was. Everything was so easy to find. I took the shuttle bus to my hotel and checked in. They were very nice. I am writing this as I sit in my hotel room, it is a very comfortable room, not too big, but cozy. Most important of all the bed is real comfortable, I think I will get a good night's sleep. This is a postcard I picked up at the airport https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Contella-Oct.%2018,%20011122246091%20copy.jpg align=baseline> This is a postcard I picked up in the lobby of the hotel https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//contella%20doubletree%20postcard.jpg align=baseline> That is all for update 1, I hope you like it so far, comments are appreciated, come back and visit for update 2 as we will find out more information about the city of Contella and see some more pictures as well as find out more about my travel to the

MESSAGE TO MY READERS I want to thank all of you for your kind remarks. I truely enjoy coming to this site. It is a wonderful community full of generous, careing and creative people! I want to thank all of you who nominated me for best storyline in a CJ for the 2005 Trixie Awards. I had no idea I could even come close to being nominated with all the other wonderful stories out there! I am sorry that I have not been able to update this CJ for a while. As some of you may know I was out of the country in India on business, I did get to stop in Singapore for a day as well. Got some good city pics there. That is a beautiful city and the subject of a new upcoming CJ in the works right now. As for Melanosia, I may add some more updates in the near future (RL permitting) , seeing as how many of you would like to see some more updates. I am glad that I at least have time now to get on here again once in a while and browse my favorite CJ's and see all the new wonderful CJ's coming out, and comment again to all of you creative people! On that note, I shall get back to my own creativity and try a put a few more little 'sprinkles on the cake'! -SirGeoJ
