Clarence Pier A real building from Southsea, a part of Portsmouth, UK which opened in 1961. This pier is unusual in being much wide than it is long. The pier features a variety of funfair amusements although unfortunately the ferris wheel is long gone from the real thing. The building itself is a pavillion containing the 'Golden Horseshoe' amusement arcade, a Bingo Hall, a Wimpy® fast food restaurant and Pirate Pete's indoor play area for the kids. Fun for all the family! Stats: Building type: Park (with an excellent effect on both residential and commercial areas) Lot size: 11 x 4 (needs to be placed on a coastline) Plop cost: -

Fairground reward (making it modular)
GaryReggae replied to greyveil's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
OK I'll create a copy of this and change the 'Clarence Pier' signs to 'The Dirk Expo Center'. As for the colours, maybe red and yellow would look good? I can change this very easily as it's a texture so it's just a case of changing the colour. OK, hopefully I'll get the model file to you tomorrow. -

My 'Clarence Pier' building should be ready very soon! Greyveil, do you want me to change the signage and create a custom sc4 model file for you? If so, let me know what you want the amended signs to read. At the moment there are the following signs: 'Clarence Pier' front sign 'Golden Horseshoe' front sign 'Clarence Pier' letters around the top of the tower 'Wimpy', 'Bingo' and 'Pirate Pete's creche signs (these are probably OK). Also, if you want I could change the blue and yellow panels to different colours if you want something different from my standalone version (which will actually be a pier). Here's the very latest shot. See also this thread https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//cp7.jpg align=baseline> -

I think you can set this option in Lot Editor rather than GMAX - it is all related to the Foundation and Elevation Change options under the first tab in LE. I'm not ver familiar with these options but I'm sure the Help for LE will explain how to use these parameters.

Date: 2/1/2005 6:55:12 AM Author: Lord_Bertrum I like the idea of a lido, I don't think theres anything like the architecture of a British Seaside town, Bournemouth for example. What about Fat Willy's surf shack from Torquay? Do you have any photos of Fat Willy's from Torquay? I went on holiday there last year and there's certainly some interesting architecture (actually the Model Village has loads of really good 50s/60s buildings) and I like the cafe by Paignton pier. -

Quote: Lord Bertrum: It would be nice to have a selection of BATs that could be used to create a seaside town in a small region. I agree! Seaside architecture is one of my favourite types and indeed I have developed countless seaside towns in SC4 although they lack realism. I will probably be doing some more Piers at some point, maybe an Art Deco Lido, any opther ideas let me know! -

The last time I saw it, I was 9, so I might just be imagining it. Yeah, this building has a very cartoony, fun look about it.  A lot of buildings from that period did but this one has to be the most zany I have seen!  I can't remember Captain Scarlet as I haven't seen it for years but I love the space-age architecture in Thunderbirds and Stingray.  Fantastic stuff. Yeah, but I hope your not going to BAT a Tracy Island, that would be going way too far for me.Er...no!!!  I will probably be doing pleny more 50s and 60s 'space age' architecture but I very much doubtI I will be doing Tracy Island!!! What do you have in mind?Hmmn I haven't decided yet. Probably more 'Seaside' themed buildings. I'll also be doing plenty more concrete '60s buildings as well.
