  1. Hello everyone, So I recently was able to acquire the files for this asset(yay!, and thank you Thomas13TO), but ran into the following problem. When I import any of the additional buildings into the editor as sub building for a varsity sports asset (there normal on there own and in any other category otherwise) which I need to do to make this asset complete, they get imported with bright colors. This is strange to me because the asset has it's appropriate color maps, but still does this. Can anyone help? I have pictures to help with clarity, if need be.

  3. Hello all, So a while back KingLeno made this set of brick addon pieces and while they where great, they did have quite a bit of limitations. For one, they were slope conforming, meaning that being able to move them up or down was not possible, also being that so, they were not re-scaleable with PO. Now I have fixed those issue's, but would like to make them re-clourable as well. I have changed the color map to reflect this(or so I thought,first image is colormap) , but upon reclouring, the whole asset changes to that color. How would I make it so the color map on the asset only changes color to the stucco texture and not the stone topper texture as well.
  4. Hello everyone, So recently I have been able to figure out how to re-texture buildings, quite proud of that, but have decided I want to move on to something new. That new thing now being car models. My most recent project is the street sweeper model by ninjanoob slayer. I just want to remove the marking and I just want a prop version of it, however upon doing so(after modifying the d file and the psd file, since that have marking on it too), the model always loads up like this.(pic below). My questions are as the flowing: What is the culprit with this?. what is a a psd file needed for? if I am correct, I use one or the other, right?(fbx or obj, there just different file formats of the 3d object itself I believe)
  5. huh,alright Tho the only files I got from him is is as follows: _s.png _n.png _i.png _c.png .png file _d.png model name obj model name fbx .psd So do I create one myself then?. I would guess right?. UPDATE:I did create one, seeing there wasn't one, but it did nothing in regard to the issue above. Still imports with blurry textures.

  7. Hello all, So yeah, back again with this asset and trying to figure out how to update it. Since the last time, I was able to get the inversed/reversed textures sorted out, and I was able to extract one of the sub buildings, but can't for the life of me find the other. So as simple this may sound, can someone go into mod tools with this asset and find the other sub building for me. I've been looking for a while now, on and off, and just cant find it. Maybe someone can and just tell me where it is. I am assuming the other sub building has the asset tag UC_Part 2 as the other sub building has the tag UC_Part 1. I tried with quick filter and it has come up with nothing. Hopefully somone can help. That would be great! btw, the asset is the united center by Tomas13TO
  8. I just wonder. I mean, the fact that parking garages don't exist as a structure we can use in game and make revenue off of is odd to me. We can get revenue from roads, but not parking. Seems weird to me. What do you guys think?

  10. Hello creators, I am hoping this is useful tid-bit to any asset creator that has a arena or stadium they would like to update to varsity sports. Just Make sure you include a color map(black colored) into the updated asset as not doing so will change the building to what ever color you chose for the team. As well as importing the new asset under the varsity sports category as well. Tho that's self explanatory. Hope this helps!.

  12. Moderators, you can close this thread. But more more post, mntoes, if grabbing the object and moving the duplicated face that way counts as flipping the x axis, it's still a no go, unfortunately . Still says the error. I did tho get it to flip to the left tho with the y axis, but nope. Changed the main model to flip with the y axis as well to make sure both flipped on the same axis, but still got the error code. Even pressed Ctrl and m differently(pressing ctrl first then m, trying m first then ctrl), but nothing works. Oh well, maybe I will revisit this at some point, and get that dam error gone, once and for all. Time will tell I guess. Anyways, thanks again for your help.

  14. Hey mntoes, Yeah, your right. I will watch some video's, Thank you for all your help! The fact I know even this little bit helps a ton!. but before you go,look progress!. So I got the object face duplicated(finally),but once I go back into object mode, select the object(it turns orange as it should) and press ctrl+m then x it doesn't do anything. The only thing that happens is the center red line becomes transparent threw the building and it borders turn white. That's both pressing ctrl and m at the same time then x. Tho I can change the location of that face manually, with my mouse after pressing ctrl and m, Tho that did nothing to reslove the issue. Building still gave me the LOD error on the save. Thanks again man for all your help!. I owe you a ton!
  15. Okay, so what now?. how do I select just one face tho?. I click on it, but it all turns that orange outline when you click it, not just one side. Also, edit mode?. Do you mean the button between file and render?. But I don't see anything there that says select faces or something? I just started using this 2 days ago, hence my total confusion. Sorry about that. If I can't figure it out on my own, can I maybe just send the lod your way some how and have you do it and then send it back to me.

So, there is this great asset on the workshop that I want to add night lights to(need a contributor for that) ,remove some aspects of the texture map(done) and make functional for varsity sports(know how to do ). I would do it myself but I really don't understand it. I have read threads and watched videos, but I still don't get it. Could someone make one for me?. I would credit you for your work on my workshop of course and if you have a steam username, tag you as a contributor. My goal is to just get as many of the stadiums on the workshop to actually function , this is one of them. I have got both the indoor arena by Tomas13TO functioning and the Delta Center by Crazyglueit is nearly complete(one bug left and I am done, thank god tho it doesn't involve night lights). I have also re-imported the Byars Hall assets by KingLeno to make them functioning, witch they are. Hopefully someone can be my co-project creator on this asset and help in this regard. Thanks a ton!. btw, the asset in question is Maple Leaf Garden arena by TooToXiC2K. I could not get into contact with the author, so I am doing it on my own, but for sure will give him model credit if I can get it that far.
  17. sorry about that, to get into more detail as to what I mean, The file itself has 2 obj file's. One for the lod and one for the model itself. When I said "as the obj file has not one side that recognizable. ", I meant how can I confirm threw visual representation on the obj lod model that it did actually flip. For example: I knew the obj for the model itself(non lod one)was flipped correctly because the words, Delta Center, were no longer inverted. However, with the lod obj model I can't do that as that version of the model does NOT have the words Delta Center on it and because of that, I can't be for sure that i did actually flip it. That too is the only detail on the model that would confirm it with me(there are no other details) , unless there are words that would confirm it as well, witch is why I am asking this: What should I look for(words wise)or do(can I cover a face of the model with a texture or something) to confirm this actually worked on this obj file?. Instead of just pressing buttons on my keyboard and hoping that I did flip it correctly? That what I mean , sorry about that.
  18. Got it. that's one less thing now. One more issue, and honestly this is what I figured was gonna happen when It went into Blender. It's telling me the LOD is now broken, how do I fix that?. Just change the x axis on the obj lod file? If so, that's gonna be pretty hard as the obj file has not one side that recognizable.   19. Note to new readers, mntoes solution is one to old issue, not current one in below post Hey mntoes, Yeah I did and it worked, asset is fixed!. Just waiting on the asset author to give me permission to upload it(old asset, now updated) But with that said and moving onto my next project, how come mod tools is inverting/reversing the text on this asset?. (pic below) However, the texture file comes out fine. See. So how would I fix this?. I know flipping the image should slove it , but how can I flip it correctly if it is correct?. Or at least appears so here, but not in the editior. Honestly, i would ask the asset author for the files, but he seems to be MIA, so that dose not seem like a option. I guess it's either mod tools or nothing.

If anyone wants a quality coast guard ship that happens to match ninjanoob slayers coast guard rescue helicopter(to make a complete set), then head over to my page hkcgalantfan001 and look for coast guard vessle. All I did was re-texture it so it matchs his helicopter model Special thanks goes to VecchioChirsto for giving me permission to retexture and reupload his model.
  21. Hello everyone, So I recently figured out how to import/dump assets from the game with mod tools. With that said, I have been able to look at assets more in depth. One such asset is this coast guard cutter asset. Now, as it stands, the asset is great. So are the textures. However, I really would like it to match the coast guard helicopter made by ninjanoob slayer in some ways. One is color. With that, I know I could achieve the color issue by simply giving it a color mask(I would reley on the painter mod to change it to that color or any other as I would want it to be as versatile as possible) If that is the case, would that require me to simply cut out the areas that I would want recolorable , make a new png file labled c_maps. and leave it's backround white?. Also, If I wanted to remove the red stripe, blue stripe and us coast guard writing, could I do that with MS paint?. Tho what would I have to do about the lod?, seeing as that uses a png file with these textures as well. Could that said file be modifed with MS paint as well? Finally, what other file's would I have to change to get this to work properly?.

So, as it stands now we have a very good amount of useful, quality assets on the workshop(with good variety as well) , however since the addition of some of the most recent DLC's(industeries, campus, concerts)some of these assets have not been able to reach there full potential of usability. The reason mainly is they have not been updated to reflect that. That is why I am hopping that if I list them here, they may be able to be updated(maybe by the mod author or someone else who knows how to do it) to no longer be that case. If other users have any others that I missed, please tell me and I will add them to the list. Thank you to anyone who helps!. Good News!. Using mod tools, I was able to categorize the indoor Arena(as a start/test) to a varsity sports arena. however there is 1 problem, this one being most common: 1(most common)- if you change the teams color to whatever you want, the whole building changes to that color as well. This is tho a simple fix, one of which I can do or anyone can on their own, just need mod tools to dump the file and then a color map added, which would look like the following:asset name_c and asset name_c_lod, and both painted black However, each asset will also have it own special issue and generally it is as follows: 1. building has sub buildings fix: mod tools does allow you to export sub buildings, but I can not figure out how to do it. I tried, no luck. 2. building has no night lights fix: building needs a illumination map added to it, but I can not figure out how to do it. Too complicated or default textures are not good enough to convert to a illumination map(too pixlated , poor quality ) If such occurs, new texture map for windows would have to be created, WAY BEYOND MY ABLITY. 3. building exports with it's x axis changed fix: open file in blender and hit ctrl +m, then x, save as a obj file NOTE:I WILL NOT RE-PUBLISH ASSETS THAT HAVE SPECIAL ISSUES 1-4(UNLESS SOLVED) , AS THOSE ASSETS ARE NOT OF QUALITY(EITHER OF MINE OR THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR'S WORK,BUG FREE) THAT MAKE THEM SAFE TO PUBLISH ON THE WORKSHOP. ALSO, THOSE ASSETS ARE NOT MINE AND PUBLISHING THEM WOULD BE STEALING THE WORK OF THAT SAID AUTHOR'S ASSET . SUCH ASSETS WILL ONLY GET PUT ON THE WORKSHOP AFTER I GOT FULL APPROVAL FROM THOSE AUTHORS, IF SUCH OCCURS. -Pre-varsity sports/concert assets that need(could benefit) to be updated Prudential center by Thomas 13TO status:NEEDS UPDATING asset issue:building has sub-buildings and I myself can not figure out how to extract them.
