Your work is incredible. I love it. Thank you very much for the time, effort and incredible detail, and above all, for sharing it with us!
  2. Hair and Eye Color

First, it is awesome to see you again and still around! Secondly, that is quite an interesting transformation!
  3. What is your heritage?

I'm an Afrikaner South African of mixed European (genetic) heritage (English, Dutch, French and German).
  4. Hello friends!

    Oh. Wow. Welcome back!
  5. Hair and Eye Color

Dark blond with blue eyes (amd 1.76m, 63kg, for what it's worth )
  6. Hand Orientation

I write with my right hand but eat / use cutlery the "wrong" way around.
  7. The Simtropolis Closet Thread - deux!

*knock knock* I haven't been in the proverbial closet for about eight years now, thought I'd come and see how things are "hanging" On a more serious note, I didn't know this corner of ST existed until now... I'm a 26 year old gay man living in Pretoria, South Africa and am engaged to the love of my life to be married on 8 November. We met eight years ago on 6 April and starting dating twelve days later - 18 April 2006 - and it's been an incredible journey! I'm a spin doctor by profession and a politician by nature, likely to be a member of the South African National Assembly of our Parliament next month. My fiancé on the other hand is finishing his PhD in genetics next month, so he doesn't quite get "the little game" (i.e. SimCity 4) I play, but then again, I don't get his genetics stuff as well as I'd like So, this is me checking in! I'll leave the door open on my way out... M
  8. Building a Dam...

Very useful indeed! Thank you very much!    Now I have to go and find a place to build a dam... :P
  9. SimCity sold 1.6 million copies according to EA

It's funny how what we know as GRAP apparently is GAAP in North America / Europe / the United Kingdom.
  10. What a joke. I'd rather buy the Sims 3 University Expansion Pack tomorrow, which will most likely just end up on the shelf like all the others, instead of wasting money on this nonsense.
  11. Do you ever do U drive it.

Try the drawpaths cheat... Much better testing method I use that too, extensively, but it's not as much fun I also use it to try out my RHW intersections
  12. Do you ever do U drive it.

I use it to test pathing
  13. If this game hasn't already made you sick, then I don't think anything can
  14. SimCity Blog: Telephone City Part One

This "game" is not for die-hard SimCity fans. It's for the Bieber generation with their 5 second attention span.
  15. mac compatible God Terraforming in Mayor Mode Mac

It's called simplicity and convenience. And besides, this option makes it always available.   What's wrong with that?
  16. Sandbox Mode

Since it has a Sandbox mode it must also be like Cities XL, I'm presuming? Cities XL at least never claimed to be or wanted to be a legitimate incarnation of SimCity. You're right. It claimed to be the SimCity killer, and failed utterly at that. Thanks to SimCity 4 and its community, and not any lily-livered attempt at a spin off.

  18. Sandbox Mode

    "SimCity" Societies, much?
  19. They should have called it The Sims 3: City Living
  20. Click "find" (I think F2f shortcut key) in the drop down menu and search for it.
  21. I also couldn't find my installation in the registry on Win7. Did a search in the registry and came across it here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Maxis\SimCity 4
  22. Simcity 2013 Plophell

I'll wait for it to pop up in three bargain box. Sounds, looks and functions deplorably compared to the vast improvements we as a community have made to SC4 and the direction they could have gone, but refused to.
  23. Post-SimCity 4 the developers have been more interested in telling us how we should play, what we should think about and where we should go with a city than actually giving us the tools, freedom and ability to intuitively, creatively, independently and individually design, build, lay out, connect and plan cities - realistic or not, one tile or an entire region, on earth or elsewhere. The SimCity franchise, starting with SimCity Societies, has become a patronising, condescending gaming entity that underestimates my intelligence and ability, and pretends to know what is in my best interest and what I should need, want or pursue. I resent that. "Challenge everything". It is so fitting that it is whispered and proclaimed at the launch of SimCity 4. Challenge everything. Since, that has not been the invocation from Maxis / EA or any other entity involved in our beloved franchise. I'll stick to SimCity 4 largely because I absolutely love it, but also because of the freedom, the passion, and the many years of dedication and commitment to improving the last real SimCity installment that placed us - the player - at the centre of it all.
  24. Kellydale2003's BAT Mine

Hi there! I really love your BATs and the great work you do! I recently posted this comment on your upload and would greatly appreciate an answer: A couple of years ago I tested and LOTted CAMpatible lots over at SC4D. I use CAM and, as a rule, recompute the occupant properties and growth stage for every large commercial, residential and industrial BAT and LOT I download to ensure CAMpatability. I opened the LOT in Reader and saw it had growth stage 13 assigned to it (which is only available with the CAM) and the CAM manual states that stage 9 - 15 (CO and R) lots will not growth without it. I therefore assume you modded the LOT with the SC4PIM-X (which would assign a BAT that size a growth stage of 13)? If this is indeed true then your LOT should, as far as I know, not grow for anyone who does not have the CAM. I'd appreciate feedback / guidance / advice in this regard Keep up the great work! I'm loving it! M
