    It's been quite a while since I've logged into simtropolis, but seeing this is just awful. Condolences to John's family, we will miss you. We've lost one of the city building community's most valued members.

  7. Best and worst airport you've been in

    Best: Portland International (PDX)-Nice and quiet (When I was there), had great restaurants and a modern open concept. Probably one of the cleaner airports I've been in. Worst: Calgary international (YYC)- (lLester B. Pearson Int'l would've won if I'd been there longer) A lot of it is brutalist architecture, but that's in the middle of changing. Plus, YYC now has canada's longest runway. Crowded, no direct transit link to it despite people petitioning city council about it for years. Fortunately, it's undergoing major changes & an expansion, so it'll get much better within a year.

    I made the switch to mint on my two notebooks, which could barely run 7 anyways. As for my desktop and laptop, I'm stuck with windows 8, since I have virtually no say in my family's computing choices *No pun intended

    Well, it looks like the simtropolis addiction brought me back... I've been a member since 2011, but haven't been around for the past few months. Finals, summer courses and a death in the family have forced me to ignore my online life, but It's great to be back! As for my absence, I'll be leaving Saturday the 9th on a Q400 to Victoria, BC. After a few days, it's the ferry to Seattle, then back to Victoria in a few days to head home within a week. I should have internet for most of the way. Happy trails Roman, and enjoy your trip airman!

    @AIX: It's amazing what nature can do, isn't it? Google? MIning? IN SPACE?! Asteroid mining is achievable( but far fetched if you want it to be profitable by 2020). It might be just a bit of a danger to earth-based industry though, considering that one asteroid could contain more ores than ever mined in mankind's history.
