    I have a city planning degree and currently work as an economist, and I've never known of winkosmsis's "facts." WalMart creates more jobs than it takes away. "Small downtown shopkeepers" were dead long before WalMart came along, and they rarely provide jobs any better than WalMart.

    Actually, WalMarts are now going into inner cities where there are no job and no investment. They bring with them better paying job then were there before, amd encourge redevelopment of once run-down commerical property

    I had my wedding recption at the downtown Richmond Marriott recently! This is a pretty good replica. A must for me! Simgoober, I love seeing all of your Richmond-Va Beach buildings.

    The IJL building in Charlotte at night is perhaps the prettiest building in the Eastern US. I'd love to see more buildings modeled on the Charlotte skyline. The Panthers' stadium would be a nice BAT also as it is one of the nicest stadiums in the NFL.

    ->I like the new transportation options - Avenues, ground-level highways, and one-way streets now fill my pre-RH cities! ->I LOVE naming streets, but hate the big signs. ->The European tiles are nice ->U-Drive-It is completely useless! ->Bridges look really good, except that in many places, the roads leading to the bridges are unnaturally steep. ->I don't use disasters or the MySims options, so I can't rate them.

You are describing what has happened to California! Who would have suspected that taxes would be so realistic in the People's Republic of SimNation. I've noticed that I get too many R$$$ buildings built, only to be abandoned. This is really the only abandonment I get. Adjusting the tax rate seems to fix the problem.
