The York Road station is looking amazing, Frogface. Excellent work!

Just an FYI for all... There are already 2 other variants of the BRF mod. CSX created one which is posted to the STEX, and Jeronij created one which is posted in his excellent Sculpting Columbia River CJ. Of these, the BRF mod is the most extreme and sometimes difficult to work with. But it is also the most realistic. You may want to play around until you find the one that best suits your style of play.

Fantastic updates, Frogface. I love the new ferry terminal in Porthcraig and the HSBC National Exhibition Centre in Thalweg. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the Thames Millennium Development Plan.

SC4Tool - Reference and Visual Editor for BATs and Lots
ScottFTL replied to Andreas Roth's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Andreas, the new version seems to be working fine for me. I tried all the things that caused errors before, and no problems to report so far. Thanks to SimRolle for the quick patch. Are the image files available for download yet? Great work on this! It will be a very useful tool. -

It's good to hear that you've found the source of the problem at least. Hopefully there is a fix. -
SC4Tool - Reference and Visual Editor for BATs and Lots
ScottFTL replied to Andreas Roth's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Hello, Andreas. Unfortunately, I am seeing some problems also. I can start the Building Database, but I see nothing in the right pane. Building Reference seems to be working fine. Analyser/Importer crashed the program after a long delay. I tried to check the path settings, but Options > Program is returning an unhandled exception error. I have attached the error details to this message. I am running Windows XP Pro SP2 and have the .NET Framework 1.1 with Hotfix KB886903 installed. My monitor resolution is 1600 x 1200, and my user account is a local Administrator. I had no problems with the earlier Building Database you released on PEG's site. I am not sure how much has changed since then, so maybe that is not relevant. If you have anything you would like me to try or a patch you need someone to test, don't hestiate to PM me. I loved the first version and am eager to get this working. -
Birmingsfield: UK Style Industrial City Journal
ScottFTL replied to ILL Tonkso's topic in SC4 City Journals
I knew it wouldn't be long until we started seeing SimGoober's canals in CJ's. Excellent job, Tonks! Looking forward to more updates. -
@frndofyaweh: The NAM is complex, and you haven't given many details of what exactly you have installed. (1) Are you using better pathfinding or perfect pathfinding? Based on the speed of your CPU, I would think perfect pathfinding could be a problem. (2) Which automata file are you using? The radical will generate more automata, and again that could cause problems. (3) Lastly, you say that you have all PEG and SG lots installed. That is a huge number of plugins that SC4 must load into RAM. I had great problems with too many plugins that were only resolved by upgrading to 2Gb of RAM. You really need to clear all your plugins, then install the NAM alone with better pathfinding and standard automata files. That is the only way to know for sure if your problem is the NAM or something else. Hope this helps...

About the Clean Air Act, you should also mention that it has a strong negative affect on ID demand. This is a great ordinance to enact when you are ready to move your industrial base to cleaner IM or IHT. Of course, you can also just raise the taxes on ID through the roof - and that will supress the demand quite nicely, but with a mayor rating hit. These experiments are great. I have often suspected that some ordinances are not worth the money, but now we have proof which are good and which are not. Excellent work!

This sounds like a cool experiment, Simmax. I can't check in-game as I have the Radical Ordinance modd installed, but here is the list from the Prima guide: Automobile Emission Reduction Act Carpool Incentive Program Clean Air Act Community CPR Training Program Commuter Shuttle Service Free Clinic Program Junior Sports Program Landfill Gas Recovery Program Neighborhood Watch Nuclear Free Zone Paper Waste Reduction Program Power Conservation Act Pro Reading Campaign Smoke Detector Program Tire Recycling Program Tourism Promotion Program Trash Presort Requirement Water Conservation Program Youth Curfew Act Legalize Gambling I don't think these are in the same order as in game, but maybe someone else can check them. Let me know if you want more details on them.

I really like the Duchati Historical Park, TMS. Nice job! The new hospital is also great - I love that BAT from APTX.

Jeronij, I think it is very kind of you to extend SCR a bit longer for your fans. I rememeber you were thinking of starting a new region when you found the CycleDogg modd, but you listened to our pleas and let SCR continue. Even though RLS has limited my replies lately, I have tracked SCR religiously. It is one of my favorite things about ST. But I understand that this is a huge amount of work to update so frequently and reply to everyone so personally. It amazes me that you have found so much time, and I thank you for your contributions. So enjoy vacation, take your time with the final updates, and once it is all over we can fondly revisit the 100+ pages of this wonderful CJ and reminisce. And who knows, perhaps your next project will be even better than SCR. Enjoy your vacation, my friend!

Itchen - a typically English City Journal
ScottFTL replied to GaryReggae's topic in SC4 City Journals
Great update, GR. I like the redevelopment storyline you have here. Keep it up! -
It's been a while since my last visit, but nice work on the updates Comdude. You have a great-looking region - and I'm looking forward to the southward expansion.

I'm looking forward to the Summer of NDEX, guys! The AO Tovitt Tower is one of your best yet - and I think the nightlighting looks great. The NDEX Essentials installer was a good idea, I think. I appreciate the fact that you guys avoid installers and prop packs, but it gets difficult to manage files like this. I think it will make things easier all around - although you should get a version up for our Mac friends. Just wanted to give you a little feedback. Looking forward to more great work - all summer long. Yeah!

Woko, there is already a modd by RalpaelNinja that stops abandonment and dilapidation. It is in the Modding Files section.

The CDK lots are designed to be self-levelling to sea level. You will get nothing but frustration if you try to get them to plop higher, It works sometimes, but not consistently, in my experience. As for the CDK Leveler, you have to point the arrow in the direction that you want to level to. If you are not careful about rotating the arrow with the Home/End keys, you will get inconsistent results. Also, there are a few situations where the CDK Leveler cannot level the terrain for some reason. However, you can use single road tiles to level these areas. Hope that helps...

Wow! The last mosacis were wonderful. The shuttle takeoff is like the icing on the cake. Too good! Update 84 is also wonderful. I love the park you created - and apparently so do your sims with all those residential skyscrapers. I can't wait to see what's next!
-
Great beaches, AK - even if they are a pain.
-
Stunning mosasic, Jeronij! I think it is your largest yet. Let me wish you an early HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Darmokia is lovely. I just love the contrast from the busy CT to the woodsy Darmokia. You have fantastic range in your CJ. There is truly something for all SC4 players. The airports is looking amazing. I don't think I've ever seen one so nice in any CJ. And you aren't even finished yet. My word! (It is getting hard to keep up with this CJ. Pages and pages each day. You must be very proud!)
