Apparently surprise got 1.5 inches from an overnight storm after that dust storm according to ABC15 (Rain Totals). I think their wrong since neighboring cities didn't come close and my rain gauge only said .43. Either way, the weather service might be right about a wetter monsoon season.

After the Valley Metropolitan Planning Committee (VMPC) announced the Lakefront District Project, tons of developers flocked to the vast farmland that will soon become one of the largest business districts in the Pacific Northwest. None of this anti-urbanism worked and the project continued and expanded. Today, the Lakefront District and a combination of many other areas have caused Kellan's farmland to shrink from 12.4 square miles to 1.9 square miles. Some say that students steal food when ripe from the farms at night, but they have never been caught. Here are some farms along the border of Kellan and Lake Jillan. As we venture down south we run into Downtown Chandler, which, despite Chandler's population and now-over population boom, hasn't seen development, not even new roads or trees, since 2000. Storm Attacks Kellan On Friday, May 23rd,a group of storms attacked the Kellan Valley, with one storm (radar loop below) dropping as much as 4.31 inches in just 50 minutes. Kellan's already saturated ground was put to the test, and failed. Virtually the entire valley was flooded with 1-3 feet of runoff and in some places ocean water. A 198 foot wide sinkhole also opened up in Brickwell. Luckily it was in the mountains so no damage was caused. However, this could finally be the end of a wet trend thanks to a possible El Nino event coming soon. The storms were believed to be spawned by Hurricane Alfonz, which made landfall on Stepford Island as a Category 3 nearly 175 miles away.
