@matias93 Gracias! Yes, you're right, I will create a mirrored model of one of the houses. @rsc204 Thank you! I'm aware that my models will only appeal to a small minority here on this website...Judging from the number of downloads of different BATs on the STEX, it seems that skyscrapers are almost always the most popular BATs. But I've always thought that there were more than enough skyscrapers (yeah, yeah, some will say that there are never enough skyscrapers ), which is why i'm focusing on low density (eventually medium density) buildings.

@Gn_leugim: Thank you, I also like how they turned out. I also changed the saturation of the door and window frames (maybe that's what you meant?), I think it looks better now. *** More stuff! I've decreased the saturation of the door and window frames: Small house that will go together with the auto repair shop (1x1 lot) Two houses (same structure but different facades and textures) that will occupy the same lot (1x2) Also, you can check out my first post to see what I'm working on and what I might do in the future.

@Gn_leugim: Do you mean the brown walls on this post? *** I've changed the orange color of the w2w house and I've added two more colors, yellow and light pink. I've also modeled a small auto repair shop based on this one.

@matias93: Those balconies are really a work of art, it would be nice to model them. Unfortunately they're way too complicated for me to recreate. Maybe the simpler ones like this one would be more feasible for me to make. But for now, I'm sticking to more simple and 'humble' buildings. @Gn_leugim: Thanks. I've updated the picture, it should be clear now.

@matias93: Yeah I agree, I think I should add more grunge and change that orange color, it's a bit too dark. Which balconies are you referring to? The colonial ones (like this one)? And yes, I'm not too busy right now, plus, batting is becoming addicting...It really is great to see familiar buildings/lots in the game, like your sidewalks for instance!

@raynev1: Thanks! It will soon be lotted after some minor changes. Following matias93's suggestions, I got carried away with making some w2w houses...Here's the result (they're the orange and the blue ones with the zinc plates): I'm planning on making them in two more colors. Tell me what you think!

@Gn_leugim: Yes, you're right, I added a small chimney to the restaurant. @matias93: En realidad soy mitad peruano mitad chileno, pero algo es algo no? jaja. Thank you for all the links you've provided, those are some great looking BATs, especially Romualdillo's models. They are indeed insanely detailed. I have modeled my own little props for now, but I'll keep in mind your suggestion. And yes, if I model the houses you mentioned (which I'll probably do) I will change the facade colors. *** So far I've applied some textures to the 1rst BAT as well as adding some more details (what do you guys think about the textures?). Unfortunately, the posters on the restaurant don't show very well, I don't know if I should replace them or not. Also, I tried to model a satellite dish but alas, it was too hard for me...Does anyone know how to model one?

Is anyone going to still play 4 when the new one comes out?
Adrianor replied to natethegreatforlife's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
Definitely. I might buy the new Sim City in two to three years - obviously if and only if there's custom content and mods. We'll see. -
Awesome job. I really like your winter shots!

Hey there. As some of you may know I released a while back two files on the STEX. Yes, I know they are mediocre BATs, but that's why I created this topic. I'm looking to improve my batting skills. What more can I say...Ah, yes. Please do have a lot of patience as I consider myself a beginner (why is "$%&^!" censored?). Here's a project I left unfinished a while back... Any tips on what I should do next? Thanks.

My latest BAT. It sits on a 2x3 lot and features two buildings. The bushes (I'll try making some primitive shapes, like Harishna said)will go on the highlighted area: This is the real building which I'm using for reference (note: I don't know how to make sunken buildings, so I just made the green building without any sort of elevation) Any comments before I continue modeling?

Replies: Oh My Gosh. That is truly amazing. very realistic Thanks a lot! Reminds me of Arizona, with less trees and living plant life in general. (Besides the cacti, of course) Very beautiful little own and surrounding area. Nice job! Yep, it does look like Arizona because I was inspired by it and some other regions as well. Thanks. Nifty! Thank you. Yes, I like this update as well It's very realistic and very beautiful, so I'll keep keep an eye on it Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Very nice. One suggestion, maybe try turning off the street tree mod you are running, those big bright green trees don't really suit the region. Other than that it's really good. Yeah, hadn't thought about that. I'll make sure those trees disappear...Thanks for the suggestion! I have rarely seen south american stuff, this is great Yeah, south american CJs are pretty rare. However, I've NEVER seen an african CJ (no, not north african, but equatorial). Thank you. Awesome Flora! Didn't even realise u cud do that with SC4 Ah, yes, the possibilities are endl-, almost endless! Thanks for commenting. Incredible! That looks incredible! Although I was thinking the same thing at jmarshall about the tree-lined streets. Thanks a bunch! Those trees will go away... Amazing work! Realistic and original. I love the rock mod you are using! Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. I've decided that I should post unusual entries, to make my CJ more original. Wow, beautiful, it looks like a small latin american town! Thank you, that was my goal! The dam (which is on the same tile as the mines on the last post) may not be that large, but It serves its purpose: to create electricity for Estiguarria. There are plans to expand the dam and distribute the power to nearby towns. However, there's always opposition, and this time some people think it will endanger further the ecosystem. What? I had to do it...: ¿Que? Tuve que hacerlo...:

No luck, couldn't find the file... :/ I need shrubs, flowers and small potted plants for the rooftops and balconies, but I don't know how to make them. Is it too early for me to BAT plants?

This is impressive! I really like the suburbs, great job.

Hmmm...What an interesting city! Just remember to turn off the grid.

@Twrecks: You're right, I was looking at rooftop pictures and they do have a different texture on the roof. Thanks for commenting! PS: I might release future BATs, but for now...none. @Harishna: Ah, yes, just what I needed. You do mean "edit patch" right? Because that worked out for me. Una vez mas, gracias! @SimFox: That's some very useful information, thanks a bunch!...Never thought floor heights would reach 4 meters... A problem has arisen. I wanted to change the floor heights in my last building but, when I clicked open, a message appeared: "File Open Failed: C:\Program Files(x86)\gmax\gamepacks\BAT\scenes\ Edificio La Floresta.gmax" I'm not too worried though, because I exported it last night. I don't know if it might happen again. Anyone knows why this happened? On a separate note, I started another BAT yesterday which I'll post sometime soon, when I finish modelling it. Oh and I need to change the floor height... Btw, could anyone give me tips on how to make plants? I also read somewhere that I could import some plants?
-
I did like this update as well, great job with the flora! Btw, where did you get those rocks on the third picture?

Adrianor commented on Ion_Cannon's City Journal Entry in Spedbury
Such a wide variety of buildings!...If there's anything to criticize, it's that I feel you don't have a particular building style, I'm not saying it's bad, but that's my personal taste I guess. I should adopt your layout, cause I tend to build without any plans...rather chaotic, I know
