  1. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

@matias93: Ah, perfect! This is quite useful, thanks again.
  2. CS$$ Pack Limeño 1

    Version 1.0

    1,470 Downloads

Brief Introduction This pack contains four low rise CS$$ buildings based on various buildings located in the historic center of Lima, Peru, a.k.a. the city of Kings. These buildings were all built prior to the 19th century, during Spanish rule. Basic Information - Lot sizes: 1x1 (corner), 2x2 (corner), 1x2 - Stages: 2 - Tileset: all - Standard Maxis Nightlights. Dependencies As always, only one dependency for now. Notes - I have not included landmark versions for my buildings. If you wish to plop them, please use the "buildingplop" cheat. You can find them by their names (see picture above). You can follow my work here. Enjoy!

@matias93: Yes, you're right, I've noticed this pattern as well elsewhere in Latin America. Thanks a lot for the suggestions! I'm a bit familiar with some of the styles of some neighborhoods, but it's quite useful to have a short description of each. I'll be sure to check out each neighborhood, especially those that I'm not too familiar with. @JP Schriefer: Thanks man! I'm also glad to see that you've uploaded something too. *** Pack is now online:
  4. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

@matias93 Gracias! For now, I have two houses in mind, one in San Miguel (which I've already started modelling) and the other one in Ñuñoa. Links: San Miguel and Ñuñoa There's the same little problem as last time: for the house in Ñuñoa I would say it falls somewhere in between R$$ and R$$$, even if it doesn't look too impressive. I hadn't even considered of Maipú, maybe because I live so far away from it and I've never been there myself, haha. I'll have a look at the houses in that area, maybe you have some examples in mind that you'd like to share? I can also indeed include semi-detached houses as you've mentioned.
  5. Maloskero's Brazilian BAT's

Thanks for the unsolicited publicity! Appreciate it. I've been waiting for an update in this thread ever since I found out about it a couple of months or so ago. Excellent models and the textures are spot-on, I really get that brazilian vibe! Can't wait to get my hands on these little houses.
  6. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

Thanks for your ideas guys. Here's the last update before uploading this pack. Updates: - Added a two story building to go together with corner building, as suggested. - After reading your comments, I think that a plain black awning looks best for the small corner building. Let's keep it simple, I said to myself. - Two more colors for the non-corner buildings have been added. I've already started working on the next pack, which will be the R$$ pack Santiaguino 2. This pack will consist of small detached medium wealth houses, with dimensions similar to the Maxis homes. I had originally planned to focus on a medium density residential pack based on buildings in Buenos Aires, but, when I began developing medium wealth neighborhoods for my cities, I noticed that I don't have many custom BATs to compete with the ugly maxis houses. Haven't found many latin american houses on the STEX or elsewhere, apart from the ones made by the LBT.
  7. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

@matias93 No need to be sorry! I appreciate constructive criticism. After all, that's why I opened this thread. I agree, didn't think of this before. Still, I might include this smaller building, just to add more variety, i.e., I'll make one two versions of the lot, one with the small building and another one with a building of the same height. Also, it will be a while before I revisit Lima! Hm, yes, I was having some trouble in gmax with the UVW mapping; the position of the logos was just not working right. I think it's just a matter of modifying the textures themselves. Anyways, I will take into consideration your suggestion. That could be a good idea, but I want to stay away from creating any more unnecessary dependency packs, unless I decide to create lots of vital props for future creations. I'll have to think this through, that's for sure, so I don't want to give a solid yes or no answer yet.
  8. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

Ok, almost done with this pack now. Here are some in-game pics: - The benches, trees and kiosk are part of the LBT mega prop pack - For the large corner building, the green wooden balconies are now less saturated and a bit brighter. - I will add one more color for the two non-corner buildings - I think the awnings look ok, but might be a tad bit too saturated, what do you think?
  9. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

@Jorginho Ochoa Thank you! With you, there are already two people who didn't notice this mistake...I could've simply ignored it haha, but I've already fixed it now. I must confess that I'm too lazy to implement more detailed nitelites , partly because I never play using the night time mode. It's a nice idea to have the facades illuminated as you've mentioned, but for now, I think standard maxis nitelites will do just fine. However, I will definitely keep in mind your suggestion for larger/more important models, such as town halls, churches etc, in the future.
  10. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

@Gn_leugim Thanks! I'm working on a small 6m wide building that will go together with the 10m wide building, so no problem there.
  11. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

Last one for this pack I think. Reference Edit: Made a mistake and created a window instead of a door above the balcony...Will fix this later.
  12. AndisArt's BAT cookery

Definitely BAT of the year. Everything is impeccable!
  13. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

@Gn_leugim That one is actually 10m wide, but yes, I was planning of making 8m x Xm buildings. I've checked and there are many such buildings in Buenos Aires.
  14. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

Thank you guys! **** I got carried away by a little midrise, I'm in desperate need of them for my cities. I'll probably make more of these and release a pack later on. Reference
  15. Tileset Expansion Project

I agree with this, I would volunteer to create a tool like you've mentioned...if only I would be tech savvy enough to create such a tool. Otherwise, I can also help with creating this list by hand. Oh, what's this I found collecting dust in my hard drive?
  16. Tileset Expansion Project

IMO, I think it would be best if we create a sister thread with the lists there and have the main discussion right here so as to keep everything as organized as possible.
  17. Jefferson St. Credit Union building

I ask myself: if you will improve your building as you said so, what is the point of uploading it now when you can upload a better version later?
  18. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

@rathefalcon Thank you, I do hope to improve my level little by little! @MushyMushy Thanks! Colors abound in Lima (and other latin american cities too), but sometimes they go overboard with the colors, and combined with a poor taste in architectural styles, you get monstrosities here and there . That's why I appreciate a lot the austerity in American cities, like Washington DC, for instance. @T Wrecks Thanks! Hm, yes, the green texture could be changed as you said. Although SC4 may be in the end of its natural life cycle, I will certainly add more stuff in the near future. Too bad I didn't start batting consistently earlier!
  19. CO$$ Pack Porteño 1

@raynev1Thanks for letting me know, I'll look into it.
  20. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

@matias93 Thanks for the praise! I always appreciate your support here. **** Third one: Reference I'm satisfied with how this one turned out, especially the balconies. But, now that I notice, I'm missing a few details, which I'll add later on. Fun fact: Most, if not all, of these closed balconies were built so that the noblewomen could discretely observe the everyday life on the streets without going outside on their own, as it was frowned upon.
  21. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

Another one (it's a shame that some details are lost when rendering the preview): Reference
  22. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

First small building of the CS$$ Pack Limeño, nothing too special: Reference The building is located in Jirón de la Unión, a heavily commercialized street. In "SC4 terms", I guess most of the stores/restaurants in this street would be CS$$ (and some CS$), so I'll pick at least one more building to model from this same street. I will add the awnings as props, in the Lot Editor. I'll probably include more awnings with different logos, for variety's sake.
  23. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

@matias93 I had a look at it and I must say that it would be quite a challenge for me to model it; I'm not sure I'd be able to actually BAT it myself. If I choose to do it, I would need some sort of guidance or help from more experienced batters. Also, such a building deserves its own release, IMO, and would not be included in any pack.
  24. CO$$ Pack Porteño 1

@simlacroix Thanks man! They are not ploppable, but I use the "buildingplop" cheat to plop them. The names of the buildings start with "CO$$..." , e.g.: CO$$ Piedras (or CO$$ calle piedras, I forgot). They should be among the first "CO$$..." lots in the list once you use the "buildingplop" cheat.
  25. Adrianor's Latin American BATs

@Jasoncw: Thanks, I am for now at least... *** I've updated my pack, the custom icons should now be there. There seems to be a tie between the CS$$ Pack Limeño 1 and the ID/IM Pack Brasileiro 1. I'll close the poll tomorrow afternoon -- around 19:00 GMT. If there are no additional votes to break the tie, then I'll just flip a coin and choose a pack randomly. Edit: Poll Results: - CS$$ Pack Limeño 1: 6 votes -- WINNER. - ID/IM Pack Brasileiro 1: 4 votes - R$$ Pack Capitalino 1: 1 vote
